Lol, nice to see things are still alive and kicking, around here.
So, I was thinking of building a forum rp that uses a dice/stat system and basing it off a popular paper and pencil rpg book. I currently own a gurps book, so I could use that, or I could always acquire other books.
The possbilities I can think of at the moment are:
G.U.R.P.S.
D20 Mecha
BESM D20
Dungeons and Dragons
Would anybody be interested in taking part in something like this?

D20 Mecha BESM D20 Dungeons and Dragons Would anybody be interested in taking part in something like this? I play BESM and DnD on a regular basis. As for a Mecha game, I prefer Cthulhu Tech. I have yet to play any G.U.R.P.S. systems though... But if you are gonna do a BESM game, have it be D6 based. Its much simpler if you know the system and do it that way. By the way, have you ever heard of Scion?

Lol, I've heard of a few things called Scion, but I don't remember most of them and I'm not sure if you're even referring to any of them. xD
Gurps is a lot like besm in that it uses a point system for every aspect of your character, but it's a little more in-depth and built for a more realistic setting than besm.
I'll look around for the standard besm system over the d20 system if we go that route, though.
I've never heard of Cthulu Tech. I'll have to look that one up.
EDIT:
Okay, so I've found some ebooks for the besm 3rd edition, and I gotta say, the system is looking very intriguing. What I'm actually planning to do now is post up the system so that it can actually be used for more than just one rp. Rather than create one setting using the system that some people may not even like, I'll just get the system set up so I can make more than one, and even allow members of the guild to create their own rp's using it.
If there does end up being mecha rp's, I'll probably just use besm's system for the sake of keeping things simple and universal, but I will look up Cthulu Tech and see if there's any bits from that I can convert or that are already compatible with the system (if there's anything that is) and perhaps enhance the mech side of things with it, if possible/necessary.

Well, with BESM you can create an RP based around almost any anime you could imagine. The abilities and attributes are very flexible, and you can even create your own. Everything is point based, and you can take defects for your character to get extra points to spend on abilities and attributes.
Oh, and anything Cthulhu will not mix well with BESM. The BESM system is very simple and easy to use, whereas the Cthulhu system is very complex and is percentile based.
Ari, didn't you once play in a Cthulhu game?

Well, we'll see what happens. If this BESM thing kicks off well enough, we may eventually post more systems to use in other rp's, but that's a bridge we can cross when we come to it. I have decided to use BESM, though. I'm reading through third edition and it's looking very intriguing.
I enjoyed BESM d20 immensely and was interested in using it, but now that I've read 3rd edition, I'm sold on that idea. xd
All I'm waiting for on posting it is for Ari to speak with a mod about any copyright issues. So, for now, I'm just prepping the sub forum for it. Nobody seemed too interested in the game room thing, so I'm replacing that with the system.
