Well, try harder.
It's the only actual fight you've had for the entire tournament. First round hardly counts.

themightyjello You made it 4 posts before you stopped trying. I put my heart and soul into those 4 posts. Once I saw that my love was unrequited, I decided it just wasn't worth the struggle anymore.

I can't.
My opponent can lift me up by my hand alone and toss me around.
Plus she swings a sword and wears armor.
Which means that if she hits me.. period.. with any part of her body I'm probably dead.
My character isn't built to deal with such things. Especially since he doesn't use any sort of weapons.

Armor should make grappling easier.
Or something.

That's kinda the problem though, isn't it? You're gung-ho about grappling but it's only a situational art, and since you didn't bring any weapons you walked in there with a huge disadvantage even before factoring in what characters were being used.
Not gonna say you shot yourself in the foot but you could have at least brought the Sailor Suplex baseball bat this year in case you needed it.

I factored in the sword. I didn't factor in the freakish strength to the point where nothing I did would ultimately be recognized. It's one thing to just be carrying a sword. It's something else to be carrying a sword and have super strength. If a sword and a big person was all I had to worry about.. then I'd have no problem.

Doesn't your character have special moves, Crawley?
I can't find the PM, but I had all our profiles.. I know yours had some stuff in it.
Something in there's bound to be helpful.

The Darth Vizzle Doesn't your character have special moves, Crawley? The only real special move my character has is deflecting a projectile with a hand slap. Everything else is just glorified, grappling, gobbledy-gook.

Mr Crawley If a sword and a big person was all I had to worry about.. then I'd have no problem. You're fighting femme-Athan. Would you have tried to grab Athan by the hand and go "I'm overpowering you"? Nah, you'd probably have went from grapple mode to boxing mode and started floating like a butterfly.

Mr Crawley Everything else is just glorified, grappling, gobbledy-gook. Yeah, it all seemed to be more about anti-magic grappling than anything else. To keep people from exploding in your face if they got into a chokehold.

Strength aside, she's like 300+ lbs. Your character is like half her weight. And she's in armor. And using a weapon.
There's bound to be a bit of a divide between the agility of the two characters that gives yours an edge.

Would you have tried to grab Athan by the hand and go "I'm overpowering you"? I didn't try to over power her. If someone grabs your finger.. and bends it back... it's not "overpowering" you. It's an easy way to control someone stronger than you by exploiting a small joint. If I had say... tried to slap an armlock or shoulder lock on her.. then I'd understand your point. It was a pretty legitimate tactic. There was no "strength" involved.

themightyjello To keep people from exploding in your face if they got into a chokehold. Which is fair. After all... you can't do much if you can't breathe. But if I can be picked up by the hand and ragdolled.. then really... what? chokehold? laughable.

themightyjello Nah, you'd probably have went from grapple mode to boxing mode and started floating like a butterfly. Also.. this. Armor. Plus.. playing striking game against someone with a sword is dumb. You never fight an opponent with hands when they have a weapon. You have to disarm them first. You disarm them with grappling. Which .. is impossible with this particular opponent.
