"I think I'll pass." Ryou stuttered, since he was being shaken as Bakura ran. They came across a few more guards and Ryou was able to safely send their minds to the Shadow Realm, and then made it outside. Bakura's horse lay dead, its throat slit and the blood forming a dark puddle in the sand. The pharaoh sat on its carcass, idly examining the back of his hand and glanced up lazily when they came outside.

Rei widened "Oh you a*****e! I liked that horse! do you know how long I spent training him!?" she hissed angerly "Hell I got him to sit on command! he was like a big dog!"

"Well, I didn't want you to get away, and you had left it out here in the open..." Atem said with a shrug, trailing off. "Now, I don't really appreciate you barging into my palace like this and taking my subject like that. I want him to work for me-- no, with me-- now. So please leave him here." Bakura snarled. "Sure, like that's going to happen. I don't know who this kid is or what he's doing here, but I do know that he looks a hell lot like me. And I don't really like the idea of the kinds of things you'd do to him for your own pleasures or whatever. So, no, I don't think so. Find yourself a new bed warmer, would you?" Atem chuckled, shaking his head. "No, no, you thick-headed idiot. I don't want to have Ryou here for anything like that." He held up a pouch and pulled out a golden item from it-- the Millennium Tauk. "With my former Priestess Ishizu... disposed of, I need a new person to fill that position. If you weren't so against me I would like to have you in that place, because you are pretty strong spiritually, which is something I need for my priests. Since he's the reincarnation of you or whatever, it should be close. Now, please, unhand him."

Ryou was squirming, trying to be let go of to see what was going on. He wriggled out of Bakura's hold and studied the pharaoh, then looked back towards Rei and Bakura. The pharaoh was holding up the Millennium Tauk, which made no sense to Ryou, so he decided not to ask and make himself look foolish. Bakura growled warningly and shoved Ryou behind him, in a slightly protective, but more possessive nature.
"Yes, I do. You want to know why? Because you're going to have to if you want to leave. I'm not letting any of you go unless Ryou stays. Got that?"

"I've had my other horses moved for the time being. It's not as though I hadn't thought of that, girl." Atem sneered. "Now why don't you just--" Whatever Atem was going to say never was finished. A beam of light issued forth from the Millennium Ring and struck Atem fully in the chest, sending the pharaoh flying backwards. Ryou, from which the beam had come from, seemed surprised, and shrugged slightly as though it was no big deal. Atem tripped over the carcass of the horse as he went backwards and tripped, falling heavily and being knocked out cold.

"Pure force from the Millennium Item itself." Ryou muttered. "The items can only have a certain amount of energy in them and minor tasks such as sending minds to the Shadow Realm and so forth are easy and don't take a lot of energy, but when you concentrate the energy into one beam a large portion is taken down." Ryou realized he was babbling and stopped talking for a moment. "Pretty much, I just used the majority of what energy was in the Millennium Ring to do that and I'm not going to be able to do it again until its powers restore, which will take days." Bakura blinked blankly at the long stream of words coming from Ryou's mouth. He had no idea what he had said, and probably wouldn't ever in his lifetime. "What the hell'd he just say?"

"to narrow it down he used the items enegry and wont be able to do that agian for a few days......man that kicks a**...well lets go into down and grab a horse....Damn thing better not be stupid...."

Bakura grabbed Ryou's arm, to get him to come along and make sure he didn't try to escape or anything, and Ryou struggled harder than he had before to be let go of. Bakura, taken by surprise, let go, and Ryou turned to face Rei, breathing heavily. "Look, I'm helping you guys with this, right, with the Millennium Ring and all? So I want one thing, at least for now, to happen; Bakura doesn't touch me. I mean, common sense kind of stuff if allowed, like if I fall and he catches me or something, but not just grabbing me like that. I can walk on my own, I just don't think I can run fast for now." Bakura growled with impatience and glared at Ryou, not liking that he was speaking something that he didn't understand, and waited for a translation.

Rei looked to bakura "he says sence he's helping uswith the ring what he wantsin return is for you not to touch him.unless its like he's going to fall and you catch him or somthing He said he can walk on his own he just cant run fast..." she looked to ryou "If the time comes were we need to move fast he'll have to pick you up then."

Bakura nodded thoughtfully as Ryou listened to Rei. With the boy's attention shifted away from him, Bakura was able to slip behind Ryou and strike him on a pressure point on his neck. He grabbed the unconscious body before it hit the ground, and looked up at Rei. "I caught him. See? He fainted, just like that. And I caught him."
