Umm... Actually, if his body were to come back, it would go to where his soul was, and therefore be able to wreak some havoc there.

Aside from being immortal in the memories of man you mean, stray?
Edge threw a knife out and into the bulb of the flashlight. "SHADDUP!!!"

Ok, if the Black Lantern ring reconstructed Leonidas's body so that it would look like a zombie Gerard Butler and then went after people who love the fictional version of Leonidas that he portrayed, then that makes sense.
But why even bother with that? Why not just bring back George Washington or Abraham Lincoln? Americans at least know what they're supposed to have looked like.
Leonidas has zero relevance except in pop culture, so in order for Leonidas to have any effect on anyone he would have to no longer even be Leonidas.

Who says they won't be, if the BLC bring back zombies why's it gotta be just recent zombies?
But I guess Stray is one of those people who think 300 was just a comic book.

But you forget, the Black Lantern doesn't necessarily care about if people have ties to him. He died, his soul is back, it's that simple. He goes to Leo, the body speaks to the soul and we have a little nice drama. Remember, I'm changing a few things using my artistic license.

Pamela grinned at Clockwork. "That doesn't make it any better, gramps." She giggled and pinched his cheek.
She looked at Leonidas. "So then why is she still alive? Sounds to me like you're the pathetic one. Excuse me." She walked away.
Walking towards Edge she knelled over and began to scream. "EDGE!!!! EDWARD! EDDY! YOU OKAY?! WHAT'S WRONG?!"

Leonidas crossed his arms "its not my place to deal with his failed lovers, I am only to help him carry out the will of Olympus."
Edge jumped up and put both of his hands around Ivy's throat "I will snap you like a twig!"

I guess Eric is one of those people who thinks 300 is an accurate telling of the Battle of Thermopylae.

She blew a pheromone eye irritant into his eyes. "Blah! Blah! Blah!" When would men learn that they didn't possess the ability to destroy her?
Smacking a sleepy and hungover Edward in the face, she snatched his hands away and rose up looking at Leonidas, speaking horribly loud on purpose. "What a pathetic excuse, and you have nerve to taunt poor Leo."

Inspired by the real event, I know their were more than just 300 Spartans and a handful of Acadians. If it wasn't for the Athenean navy, it would've been so successful.
Edge rubbed his eyes and drew out a series of throwing stars at Ivy, but his hangover headache messed up his aim.
Leonidas snorted "he must fight his own battles when on his terms, I cannot and will not fight for him just because he has girl problems, if he were in Sparta he wouldn't last a day in training a child could survive."
Leo walked behind the Spartan King just in time to catch three shuriken in his back, one in his arm, and another in his hand. Sighing like his was at a boring meeting casually pulled the stars out of his arm and hand "I'll get the rubbing alchohol." He turned and headed into the kitchen.

Yes, inspired by. In the same way Shakespeare's Julius Caeser was inspired by the actual assassination. Or the way that one book about talking animals was inspired by the Russian Revolution.
The comic 300 and its accompanying film are fictional works.
