And it was over just that fast. There was a brief exchange of spells before Klarion soundly defeated Orko, trapping him in a spinning bubble.
The crowd could only pray Orko could remove his scarf before he barfed from dizziness!
The judges presented their scores and on a scale of 1-10 from each, Klarion was given a 41, and Orko a low 23.
"Your winner of the first duel is Hero High's Klarion!"
The stands applaud.

The next duel was between Hero High's Enchantress, and MU's Shadow Weaver.
This match up was far more even than the first, and provided those watching with more excitement while both ladies exchanged spells and countering each other's best.
Enchantress aimed a force blast to stun and Shadow Weaver blocked it, and both struggled to break free and end it. Both strained until Weaver shifted a free hand and shadow coils reached up around Enchantress's body and slithered around her until she was bound, ending this one in favor of MU's Shadow Weaver.
The judges held up their scores, and Shadow Weaver narrowly defeated Enchantress with 40 to 39.
"Your winner of this round, Shadow Weaver!"

*Chris searched the upper floor and finally found the thief. She was once again decked out in all black leather with white fur which matched her hair. The girl was bent over a drawer and rifling through it.*

Hartley didn't move. He was frozen like a statue. It was true that he didn't really like being touched, but this...he didn't really want this to stop.
The contest in front of them seemed to be very far away, and Hartley was lost in his own little fog.

Wallace toes curled in his sneaker, and he realized that he wasn't paying attention to this game at all. He was paying attention to his knee and his toes, and that was it. If he shifted just a little more -- and -- there we go. Pinkies touching. On their hands.

There had been three duels that followed the Shadow Weaver-Enchantress, and then it was time for a senior's duel, where the rules were allowed to be a tad more lax.
Jennifer Kale of Hero High and Marzo from MU stood in a face off and immediately they engaged in a display of magical talent that was dazzling to the eyes of everyone watching and eliciting a number of "oo's" and "ahh's" as they went toe to toe.
Marzo drew up a dark mist as his eyes glowed red and he directed it toward Jennifer. The mist formed into bats and they screeched at their target but with a wave of her hands, Jennifer transfigured the bats into pearl-white doves.
The crowd was in amazement as the doves flew up and around the stands. Jennifer them aimed toward Marzo and he directed his spell towards her in defense and the spell sailed right through her as she vanished into a mist of her own - a testament to an astral projection.
Jennifer then appeared behind Marzo and the crowd in the HH portion of the stands cheered as Marzo turned about and Jennifer "imprisoned" Marzo in a cascade of gold that covered him from head to toe.
Confident as always, Jennifer turned to her peers in the stands and took a sweeping bow as she was declared the winner, 48 to 47!
The stands were alive with cheers at the display put on by both students and a kid in front of Teddy was overheard;
"I'd hate to be the one following that one!"

Cassie wished Chris was with her. But still whenever Billy came up she was going to cheer for him like there was no tomarrow.
