Shadow didn't know what to make of what Sakura had just said. He placed it down to the last remnants of her mortality leaving her. "I'm sorry Sakura, I wasn't here to protect you. I failed... just like I failed to protect Cassidy and my wife and my home..." he said in a near wisper. In a short time Sakura would be joining the ranks of the undead, he wondered how Alice would take this.
Shadow listened to Maxim and nodded. "I will look after her little one." he said as he turned his back on Maxim. there was nothign he could do for the little one. he could only try and help Malice now, he was going to give her the only gift he could. the gift of anchient blood.

As Sakura lay on the ground unconcious one of her hands lay close to Malice. It slowly started to glow, starting to heal her wounds.

Malice coughed up more blood as the crimson liquid poured from the corner of her mouth "Why maxim" she said and waited for a response. When none came she tried to sit up only to scream in pain at her shattered bones, fearing the worst for her child

"he has gone Malcie. He walks to his fate willingly and for that he has erned the respect of this old warrior. Now let me help you." he said as he walked over to Malice and kkeeled down by her side. "You need to feed off something better suited to heal you." he said. He knew Sakura would be alright in the end. her body just had to die and then she would be reborn anew.

Malice squirmed in pain as a scream of pure agony tore from her throat "Not my child...anything but that...first Kave and now maxim ...please I cant take it any more ...why is this happening to me" She sobbed Coughing up about a handfull of blood

Shadow proped Malice up against him and bit into his own wrist to release the blood. "Drink this, it will make you stronger." he said as he held his wrist to her lips. "Don't make me force this down you." he said.

"I would go on living as I have been doing for a long time. You get use to the pain after a while." he said as he spoke his mind. Shadow had been through alot in his long life, the only thing he seen that was best to do was keep going and create a better life for yourself.

"No, he is never comming back." Shadow said bluntly. He didn't see the point in being nice at this point, having faluse hope was the worst thing in Shadows eyes. "Now, drink." he said once more.

Malice sighed and bit down on his wrist. draining as much blood as she could before he cut her off. She looked into his eyes and let a tear slide down her cheek
