Cale Darksun HereticX Hmm...at least twenty fighters to a decent sized convoy? I mean, fitted on to brackets, they'd still be tiny compared to a bulk hauler, right? Same goes for putting them inside. As to the number...well, they're certainly quite nasty, but after all... "Ve are building them like sausages!" *slams shoe on table* "And ve vill bury you." Umm...five bombers and fifteen interceptors? like what kind? more droid units? Ties? Shielded craft? Droids, of course. Shielded, yes. Umm... B5s "Starfury" design ( http://b5tech.com/earthalliance/earthallianceshipsandvessels/earthfighters/earthfighters.html), kinda looks like a stubby X-Wing. Umm...interceptors take out fighters and the like, bombers go after cap ships. Primary weapon...some kind of rotary blaster cannon. And they've got shields. Interceptors, faster, lighter armor/shields. Maybe have another rotary blaster cannon or some missles or something. Bombers, heavier armed and armored/shielded. Carries torpedoes. Maybe the rotary blaster cannon is slower, but bigger? Something like that. They're both quite fast and nimble, though the interceptor more so. Hmm...Interceptor-types are probably more than a match for an X-wing?

Cale Darksun Im sure they use other names. Off the top of my head: Rogue, Wraith, High Flight, Polearm, Nova, Twin Suns.

I dunno, I'd clear use of these ships with Nelo or FP before using them.
As for Interceptors taking out X-wings: Interceptors are anti starfighter. They're fast, maneuverable, and have strong enough guns to shoot down light freighters and anything starfighter.
Fighters, like the X-wing, are multi role.
and yes, Bombers handle anything bigger than a light freighter.

A wing is 72 fighters, or 6 squadrons. Its the standard complement of an ISD. 72 TIEs.
They normally don't have a term above that, besides air corps.
@heretic: You must remember one thing: the more complex the craft, the more complex the computer pilot. If you're going to crank out fighters like a mexican cranks out kids, forget shields. There are only two tactics in building a fighter. You either swarm them out, or you build vastly superior fighters than your competetition. Right now the NR has some of the most advanced technology, and use real pilots. So if you're trying to outdo them technologywise, you're going to get your butt handed to you. Forget the shields, forget hyperdrives, and just use droids.
