The intense burning in her hand was evident, but she held Waffle's gaze. The longer she stared, the more her face contorted. Her face went through clear phases in that short time: insult, pain, anger, and rage-- insult that Waffle placed herself so highly above the others just because she had been there longer, pain from the obvious use of magic, anger after her brain put the previous two together, and rage at Waffle's bullsh-t. That was it. She was done. Her patience had been spent, and she was tired of hearing the lecturing from that imp. After Waffle pushed her injured hand away, Nari retalliated by swinging her staff toward Waffle's head. If gravity was on her side-- which it should be seeing that she was almost a foot taller and stronger-- it would be a direct hit...

(Sure. This will be a curbstomp after all :3)
Nariana
The rod smacked the side of her head hard, and the blow sent her stumbling toward Sabe. After that impressive display, Sabe made up his mind and went in to kick her. He aimed for the midsection but shot a little low and kicked her between the legs. Contrary to her beliefs about men and women, this caused her a ton of pain and now she was struggling to stay standing let alone concentrate. She dropped her facade and looked at Sabe with disbelief... and, for the first time, fear. While he had no magic and wasn't particularly strong, he was fast and still stronger than her. When it seemed like Nariana was going in for another strike, Sabe stepped back and grabbed a wooden bat from the corner that was usually kept around for capping some knees.

Had she not been so enraged, Nari would have been amazed at Sabe's sudden animosity. She wouldn't have thought it possible! But she didn't care about that right now. Instead, she said in a dark, wildly amused tone that she never used, "I think I'm already getting the hang of 'punishment'," she mocked her teammate and twirled her staff in her good hand, watching the girl struggle to remain upright. "I also think Sabe knows the difference. Don't think you can say sh-t like that to me, especially in front of him. I know what you do behind closed doors, Miss 'I always get to decide~'." That last part came out in a childish, mushy tone to further her mocking of Waffle, and she squatted down to dramatize the girl's shortness. Standing upright again, she continued,"Well, it looks like you're the squeamish weenie right now, huh? If you can't handle what you dish, then why don't you 'get the **** out'! Huh?!" She was looking pretty crazy at this point. Her adrenaline was flowing, and all she wanted to do was give this girl a taste of her medicine for once. It was pretty freaky looking at her exaggerated facial features right now. Imagine the Joker minus the makeup. Flipping the switch on her staff, she approached Waffle again.

(That's about as long as I have left lol.)
Nariana
"Hey. Can we move her to an empty room before continuing?" Sabe asked. With the bat, he knocked Waffle to the ground. Then he grabbed her by the halo over her head. He was shaking a little as he looked at Nariana, who seemed to transform into something else entirely, with a faint smile. "She'll move; it will hurt like hell if she resists."

'Okay, I didn't know you cold do that...' Nari thought and tilted her head sideways upon seeing Sabe grab Waffle's halo. But again, any thought that didn't insist on beating or insulting Waffle quickly disappeared from her mind. She didn't know what Sabe wanted to do, but she complied. Squatting beside Waffle, she growled, "If you dare try anything, this staff will be up your a** in a heartbeat." And with her theat laid out there, she told Sabe in a nonchalant tone, "You should carry her; she's your wife. I'll be the guard~"

Sabe chuckled at Nariana's threat to Waffle, then yanked the halo upward, moving her with it. Waffle squealed almost like a piglet as she scrambled to Sabe's side. "A lot of people don't know that these halos are attached to the head, so pulling on it is like pulling them by a part of their skull, as hard as it is to imagine," he said as the three of them went up the stairs, "In our homeland there's a few techniques to separate the halo, and likewise ways to reattach the halo, but I'm not going over that. We're not going to kill her, just teach her a lesson."
They got to the main floor, and were making their way to an unused room in the east wing.

Nari considered what Sabe briefly explained as she walked, eyes on Waffle the entire time. The scientist in her wanted to do more research on this halo, but the masochist in her wanted to see how much effort it would take to remove the halo. Her hand was really starting to sting now. This realization only fueled her wrath against Waffle, and it took much silent effort not to snatch Waffle from Sabe right there. She gripped her rod tighter in her other hand and tried to keep these dangerous thoughts at bay.

Waffle returned the stare to Nariana, with the most hateful look she could muster. But her anger toward her was nowhere near as much as her anger toward Sabe, who not only defied her but humiliated her in front of several people. Still, she kept her arms folded as she walked along his side.
Sabe opened some doors to make sure those rooms were completely empty, as he never set foot in many of them. It didn't take long for him to find a barren room. He let Nariana in first, then shoved Waffle in, then walked in and closed and locked the door behind him. The lock itself was a simple deadbolt, which would be no problem to get past considering they were on the side with the lock itself, but it did mean that nobody could barge in and rescue her, as unlikely as it seemed, and Waffle would be wasting a precious moment or two if she tried to escape.
"Well alright. Have fun," Sabe said, "I just wanted to keep it out of the view of the others. Don't kill her, though."
He leaned back against the door and let go of Waffle's halo. She lunged at him, but he swung at her with the bat and knocked her back.

'Where are we, anyway?' she asked herself. She had never ventured into the East wing of HQ before today. In fact, it never crossed her mind since there was no need. But as Sabe opened a door to an empty room, Nari entered and smirked as he dumped Waffle inside and locked the door. Lifting her rod behind her right shoulder, she laughed at his comment. "Oh, I won't. I'd make this more... fair for you, Waffle, by using hand-to-hand combat, but apparently I can't touch you." She pouted and raised her burned hand as she walked toward the girl and continued, "So let's consider this payback. Okay~?" Her face grinned that nasty grin as she turned on her rod's electricity and lowered it to Waffle's chest. Jabbing it toward Waffle, she said, "It's just business, right?"

(You're just going to zap her or something?)
Nariana
Waffle flinched and winced as she was shocked by the rod. She tried to slap it out of the way, but she got shocked some more; the rod stayed where it was. She kicked at Nariana's shins and yelled at Sabe. "Why are you doing this to me?!"
Sabe ignored Waffle's question and instead called out to Nariana, "Don't get crazy with it, please; I don't want to have to look at any nasty burn marks later."
Koji was taken to a bed in the temple, and tended to swiftly, and then Twi was brought some new clothes and a straw hat and shades. he dressed quickly as he could, but needed help.
half-unconscious from sunlight and holy energy, the undead elf stumbled out of the hollow and was walked to the temple with Katsumi's help. he collapsed into a sitting position as soon as he got to a shaded room. he put a hand to his face and groaned, trying to massage away a migraine.
"uggh.... I have such a headache..."

Nari had to jump back when Waffle tried to kick her, forcing her to pull the rod away. She grumbled something incoherent at Sabe's request-- something about "... no fun... deserves...wench..."-- as she shut the rod off and tossed it to Sabe. "Break it, pay for it," she said and sighed. Now what was she going to do? "Oh, well," she shrugged and instead grabbed for Waffle's halo. Like a child, she looked at it a bit perplexed at first, wondering how much it would take to make something break. 'We'll just find out...' she thought and grinned. As she envisioned Waffle as a little puppet on a string, she yanked on the halo with both of hands and pulled upward, like she was doing a bicep curl with a bar. She then began twisting her arms in unison left to right. It wasn't too hard to do since Waffle was so tiny.

AUGH, I should just punch her a few times, shouldn't I? This is weak. Dx

Nariana
Waffle screamed at an irritatingly shrill pitch before giving up. She was now blubbering as she hung in the air from her halo, overwhelmed by pain.
"That's good, drop her." Sabe ordered as he walked closer with the bat, which he kept, and the rod, which he was going to give to Nari so long as it would be used to batter Waffle with as opposed to burn. It would take a colossal amount of effort on Waffle's part to get to the door quickly enough to escape, so he no longer felt like guarding the door was necessary.

( OOC: I dunno... seems pretty brutal to me. and fitting in a way, being almost childish. )
Katsumi tried to assist Twilight, but he insisted the she take care of Koji first.
"I'll be fine..." grunted and sighed.
as he looked around, he felt at home for the first time in weeks, maybe months. he always loved the Gardens, and the Temple. he couldn't help but smile being here. but still... his thoughts were plagued by doubts and fears.
he couldn't help them. he failed in his task. just as well, he didn't expect them to listen anyway. but now he had Koji with him. that could only mean trouble. he decided that when Koji woke up he'd have to tell him the plan -- that when he did decide to return to headquarters he was to pretend that Twi kidnapped him as a hostage and that he escaped.
it's for the best. he told himself.
his thoughts raced, causing tears to fall as he recalled his disastrous wedding to Shandrel, their eventual separation and later divorce. how he wandered aimlessly after that, still on the run from the Kuro Gang. he had to ask himself why. why was it that he still came back? was it to help friends? but these so called friends were his enemies, they would order and execute his interrogation and torture him. they would fight him to death if called to do so, and wouldn't question it. after all, like that new girl at HQ said, 'this is war'.
but if that were true, then why did Mandi, and then Koji treat him as a comrade? they both, at least, were willing to hear him out. they gave him a second chance.
these thoughts were too much for Twi right now. how could he determine right from wrong when he couldn't even tell who was on his side? and how could he judge loyalty when he himself was a traitor? as always, he was caught between worlds. the worlds of living and dead, of vampire and elf, of friend and foe. perhaps he was cursed in more ways than he realized.
"Ack!" Nari yelped and flinched at Waffle's scream. Her ears twitched, and she turned her head away as if that would help. "Now what..." she huffed as she let Waffle's halo go and rubbed the insides of her ears with her pointer fingers. 'I guess that's all it takes to mess her up with the halo. Huh,' she mused to herself.
