As Nariana was zapping Twi, Waffle had gone back up the stairs and was just now coming back with a hastily-rolled paper funnel, a newly opened bottle of hard liquor, and a box full of assorted implements.
She unloaded the stuff onto a nearby table. "You're just going to zap him the whole time, or do you want to spice it up a bit?" she asked Nariana without turning around. Waffle rummaged through the box, but wasn't looking for anything specific; just another idea or two would work.
Meanwhile, Sabe had no luck in waking up Luciano. Instead of returning to the basement and most likely joining Twi on the table, he pulled up a chair and stayed put.
((Go ahead and imagine whatever objects are in the box. If it's likely to fit in with other things in a box that Waffle can carry down a set of stairs and not end up snowballing down, then it's in the box lol.))

((fun. xd I knew Waffle would have more of a sadistic love of torture anyway.))
Twi grit his teeth at the waves of electroshock coursing through his body, but he couldn't withstand the jabbing. he yellped in pain, body spasming the whole time.
when he saw Waffle come back with a box of tools amd seemingly random liquor, his face contorted with a mixture of pain and fear. who knows what that psychopath had thought up?
but Twi had to endure it. he was already struggling to control himself... he couldn't let Koji and Waffle get hurt...

After she had heard enough of the prisoner's cries of pain, she jerked the staff away from him and shut the electricity off. It felt good to get him this one time. She thought of it as payback for the earlier attack and the perverted spying. And yet, Waffle's offer made her stomach jump uncomfortably. She looked at the face of the prisoner, and the fear in his eyes was unmistakable. It made her flinch ever so slightly, and she could really notice how young he was to be practically forfeiting his life for his beliefs. She sighed and walked toward Waffle. In a low tone she asked, "Do you have anything in there that doesn't cause blood to gush everywhere? I want him to talk more... Oh, this is good enough." She looked down and noticed the liquor bottle. 'No blood at least, and this will clean his wounds up. Yeah, that's right,' she mused to herself as she tried to justify her actions. Grabbing the bottle, she walked back over to the prisoner and said in a more sullen tone than she expected, "This might sting a bit..." Though she still wasn't comfortable with the whole idea of torturing someone, she poured a little of the liquor onto the area where she jabbed his thigh.

Waffle snickered as she heard Nariana's request, "No, nothing in there will cause blood to gush, unless you're doin' it wrong. I don't know where you get your definitions from, but bleeding someone out isn't really 'torture' either."
Oh yeah, I forgot I had these still... she thought as she pulled out a long and narrow box that made a light clinking noise as she set it down on the side table. She turned around and saw Nariana pouring the liquor on Twi's thigh. "Hey, don't waste all that, I was plannin' to use that for something else," she snapped as she slowly pried the bottle out Nari's hands, spilling some of it onto the torture table.
Waffle picked up the paper funnel and tightened it some. She stuck the tip of it in one of Twi's nostrils, but purposefully kept it near the opening. "For stuff like this," she said as she tilted the bottle and poured some of the strong alcohol into his nose. She giggled as she did the exact same to the other side of his nose. After that the paper funnel was thrown off to the side and the bottle was set right back next to the box. "I'm tempted to put it in his ears and eyes and burn the hell out of them too, but he'll need them I guess. Seriously, come over here and check out this box some more."

Twi jolted and yelped in pain as the wet shock on his thigh coursed through him. he fought against his restraints, but to no avail.
when Waffle half-drowned him with alchohol he struggled, eyes bulging and body writhing as much as it could in the shackles. his eyes watered, and his head swam. he could feel the burning and it made him wonder momentarilly if it was a karmic punishment for alchoholism. all that alchohol abuse, and now the alchohol was abusing him...
could he realy keep up his fortitude for much longer? shock therapy was one thing... but Waffle was a monster when she got into it, and Twi knew that much...

Growling in annoyance as the bottle was snatched from her, Nariana placed her now-free hand on her forehead and thought, 'What is wrong with this girl...She's impish, immature, rude, an a--hole for sure, probably not getting any...' Thoughts like those ran through her mind as she tried to filter her words before she spoke. Seriously, she had never met anyone so sadistic in her life! 'Who gets excited about torturing, anyway?!' she thought and rolled her eyes. She commented aloud, "Calm down a little, please. You're giving more than him a headache." She couldn't stand watching Waffle enjoy herself like this. Covering her eyes with her hand, she only watched the elf work through a small crack between her fingers. As the guy-- she still didn't know his name-- convulsed in agony, Nari reminded Waffle, "This is a job, not a fun playground game. Let's not get carried away." Reluctantly, she forced herself to walk closer to the table before saying to the prisoner, "How about we start this over again. Now that you've been... reacquainted with Waffle... Why are you here?"

Twi yelped when Nari spoke to him, still shaking and blowing out his nose best he could.
"I told you, I just wanted tow arn you about Luca! I swear, that's it!!" he screamed, almost whimpering. if he could kick he'd be flailing to get away.
"don't let her near me again! I know how crazy she can get!" he begged.

Koji wanted to believe what Twi was saying, but he had to admit, it all sounded truly insane. He was going to try and defend him when Nariana gave her last warning, but anything at that point might have come across as traitorous to their leaders. Before he could think up anything to say, Waffle had returned and the torturing process began. He winced and stepped back at what was going on, trying not to get caught up in the commotion. There had to be something he could do, some way to stop his former teammate from getting hurt like this. That's when he noticed the floor. With everyone gathered around the table, it made a good sized shadow. There was a possibility, if he focused enough, he could get Twilight through a shadow portal. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and focused on another location in the HQ. The only one that came to mind was his room, which he knew for a fact was shrouded in shadows. He heard as Waffle poured fluids down Twi's nostrils, chocking him. Koji wanted to rush in to make sure he was alright as the others took a break to look through their torture devices, but he needed to focus on getting the portal open. He opened his eyes and walked over to the table again as Twilight started pleading for them to stop and stepped in between him and his teammates. "Guys stop!" He said, reaching out to put his hand on Twilight's shoulder. "Obviously he believes what he's saying, regardless of whether it's true or not." He paused, trying to see if he could get Twilight to slip through the shadow without looking like he was the one letting their prisoner escape. It was starting to give him a headache though, and he knew it was going to be tricky. "Maybe this is just the story the vampires are brainwashing their recruits with." He could feel the shadow beneath him connect to it's destination and he grabbed Twi's shoulder tighter. "Just give him a chance---" As the last words came out of his mouth, he went to push Twilight through, but the pounding in his head caused him to stumble and step into the portal as well. "Oh sh--" The shadow quickly reached up and surrounded them both, then sank back into the ground and spat the two out from a dark patch of shadow in Koji's closet. He panted as he tried to prop himself up. "--s**t.." He said, the room around him starting to get fuzzy as his head pounded harder. "I'm really out of practice." Twi still seemed to be recovering from the last bout of torture, but at least he wasn't still in chains. Are you alright? He would have asked, but everything blacked out before he got the first word out.

Twi was frantic, confused... the alchohol in his sinuses was affecting him funny. he was lucky to have the tolerance for booze that he had. but... was Koji defending him? he didn't know if this was bad or good, but he could tell that something was weird...
a Shadow Portal!? he realized a moment too late. the two of them tumbled through and landed with a thud in a small dark place.
Twi had to recover from the fall. his inebriation coupled with the fatigue and the dizziness made it hard for him to orient himself. but when he did come back to awareness, he realized that he was in a closet, and Koji was unconscious.
"this is bad..." he muttered, before grabbing Koji's body and tracing the Shadow Portal. he knew a better place to hide.
this time, they fell into a shaded spot in the Zen Gardens. the sun was bright, and Twi had to squint... but they were protected from it's harmful rays in the hollow of a large cherry tree. Twi called out.
"Katsumi! please, help! Katsumi!!"
the priestess heard Twi's cries for help and followed them, being led to his position swiftly. she was surprised to find him there in the daytime. and of all places, one of the holy trees. even now she could tell that his strength was fading from the purifying energies.
"Twilight! whatever are you doing here? it's broad daylight, and you are sitting in a purified zone."
it was all he could to reach out and move Koji to her care. "please... Katsumi... help him recover... and then... hurry... cover me in ... a dark shroud.... and get me... out of here..."

The sudden noise made Waffle turn around, only to see that both Twi and Koji were gone. It didn't take long for that to sink in. "SON OF A b***h! They're gone!" she shouted, stamping her foot on the ground. "********' weenie can't handle someone crying about a little liquor up the nose, but is totally okay with beating the piss out of people when on a mission. What difference does it make?!"
As Waffle's rant continued, Sabe descended the basement stairs as he felt obligated to come back; there was obviously a commotion going on. He only got two steps into the room before Waffle, who was pacing around and essentially throwing a tantrum, saw him from the corner of her eye. Her focus was now on him and gears were clicking in her head with ideas. He froze in place.

Koji got in Nari's way as he tried to justify the prisoner's rash way of thinking. 'I never really considered that... Perhaps he's right. However--' Her thoughts were cut short as Koji and the prisoner disappeard through the floor out of the blue. "NO!!" she roared and dropped to the ground in a futile attempt to grab them. When they were gone, she remained on her knees for a few seconds and gritted her teeth as Waffle rampaged. 'What just happened?! How did the guy teleport like that?? Where are they now?!' her mind raced as she tried to process what she saw. Her hands idly rubbed against the area of the floor where they disappeared almost mechanically; she wasn't really paying attention to them. Nari was ready to yell at Waffle to shut up when she suddenly stopped on her own. 'Thank God...' she thought and sighed. This was not the time for immature antics like that; they needed a new plan of action. Turning around toward the door, Nari noticed Sabe. That gave her an idea. Standing up and dusting herself off, she asked them somewhat hurriedly, "You two know about teleportation, right?" She recalled the portal the gang used to visit Waffle's homeland for their wedding. Her head flipped between them, wondering who would answer first.

Sabe's eyes shifted to Nariana for a fleeting moment, then back to Waffle, who kept staring at him intently. "I know what you're asking for, and that is a 'no'. Once a pair of gates are live, you can only turn them on and off." he said. Waffle butted in with her two cents, "Not my problem anyway." Sabe continued, irritation clear in his voice, "I can't do anything, she refuses to do anything. I'm sorry."

Though Nari appreciated Sabe's honesty, his answer displeased her. She was disappointed that his technology couldn't help them out. It was their only real help at the moment. At Waffle's answer, she groaned. Her free hand ran through her hair as she frowned in aggravation and said, "Since when did you suddenly get to decide what was and wasn't your problem? This is completely your problem! You know why?" Her hand snapped down from her head, and her pointer finger hovered right in front of Waffle's petite chest. Glowering, she said, "Because you're a part of a team! Get your attitude checked!"

Waffle looked at Nariana with disdain. Her demeanor changed to an icy one, like that of a ruthless queen talking to a lesser being. Before she spoke, she put an iron grip on Nariana's hand, and drew a barely noticeable amount of mana toward it. "I always get to decide what is and isn't my problem. I've been around long before the drama with this vampire elf happened. I can tell you that he's a free-minded guy who plays both sides; whatever works for him in the end. I can also say that he tugged at your and Koji's heartstrings and jumped at the chance to escape. Other than manipulation, why else would you two object to me doing my job as intended? Because I find it fun? In that case, why do a job that you hate when you can get paid to do something you like? Or because you find it morally wrong? In which case, get the ******** out, the gang doesn't need squeamish weenies in their elite special ops crew. Or you can shut up, deal with it, and learn to separate 'abuse' from 'punishment'." Then she pushed Nariana's hand back to her, but not without leaving a blistering burn on it. Sabe was still processing what was just said, and the utter hypocrisy near the end lit a fuse in him. He started thinking of doing what he previously thought was impossible. Perhaps someone else's presense would be a boon to him.
