Honestly, I didn't want Obama to win quite yet. Maybe in a future term. The fact that he's coming into a shakey economy that there's almost no hope of salvaging, I'm worried the next 4 years would be viewed as disasterous. The fact that he won means that it's going to be his burden to bear, not McCain's.
I'd rather a landmark president come in on a surer foot than this sweatdrop

Think of it as us two going on a date, with me insinuating that I'd pay for it, then running out on you halfway through dinner and leaving you to pick up the tab when you have no money of your own razz
(Yes, I know its more complicated than that, but its an analogy for what I see him coming in to this term; and he deserves better than that...)

Or, you could look at the long term... Obama has a hell of a lot of crap to try and clean up, and the likelihood that he will get it all done is not really all that high, especially when you look at the statistical ratings of how many campaign "promises" are even touched upon by a president during their term...now setting all those silly stats. aside, look at how many assholes there are living in the world who are going to take every chance that they can to try and knock Obama down, simply because he is not an old geezer with “real world experience”!
There are too many people who are going to try and blame every mistake that Obama makes on the fact that he is young and black sweatdrop that is just the way that hate groups think... it won't matter to them that he is doing everything that he can to clean up the last 8 years of crap, and getting it all done would honestly be a miracle! All they will do is use his mistakes, or shortcomings, to try and strengthen their own stupid beliefs...
or at least that is what I am worried about sweatdrop , I hope all goes well for him, and he proves that he got this position because he really is the "best man for the job" and not just because of his age and race!

I'm already going to start campaigning for the next election. Only one man can lead our country to greatness.
Tom Cruise for President 2012!

No matter who the president is, he or she (well, okay, he for the time being) is going to be the punching bag for the entire nation. Even if Bush were to somehow salvage the damage done instead of making it worse, the only thing you'd hear is "HURRRRRRRRR BUSH IS STUPID HURRRRR."
Obama's case is unquestionably unique. Coming into a presidency that is in shambles, he has to not only deal with the people who hate him just for being who he is, but also deal with the trial by fire that comes with taking up the remnants of the president before him.
Okay, it's too early for me to be thinking about things like this and I lost my train of thought, so....
OBAMA'S PRESIDENT.
AMERICA. ******** YEAH.
