Reading helps with spelling and grammar as well as vocabulary. I should know. I've never failed a spelling or vocab test. And I read whenever the hell I want.

Sadly, ever since 9th grade... I've only read textbooks and books assigned in English... crying I really ought to read something else. @Pestilence-Perhaps that explains why my grammar and vocabulary is so limited. ^^'

I read during school. At least, I used to. I have no reason to here in college.

Nice. In middle school, my highest reading level was the highest possible: 12.9. That was post-High School reading level. That's how much I did and still do read.

On a completely random note. I hate that I am considered as an accomplished guitarist in my local area for underground metal bands. Yet, when I want to join a band they always ask if I can play bass.
No, I will not play bass, I will play guitar. I am a better rhythm guitarist than your friend. Just because my first band I played bass and that is the root of all my exposure at this level does not mean. I. will. play. ********. bass.
Not that I hate the instrument, I love it. I want to play guitar though.
I also don't care how "brootal" your band is, how low your tuning is, how distorted your sound is, how low and then brain slicing high your singer's voice can go when he sings.
I DO NOT LIKE IT WHEN I GET A HEADACHE FROM THE MUSIC I PLAY.
What ever happened to people wanting to play something other than hardcore or deathcore or whatever bullshit emo based music they listen to.
The only good core music is mathcore, Dillinger Escape Plan is amazing.
I hate my local scene.

Fear that which you dont understand..... Knowing me, I probably have some average reading lvl since it seems I average out in about everything that I do. It used to be really frustrating but...now I don't mind it too much; at least I don't fail at anything.
And nice rant there Steam. Sounds like it's very frustrating down there. I, too, don't like all the death metal stuff. Sometimes I listen to it to make fun of what they are saying because it might sound like they are screaming 'Kitty' or something. xD
....namely me.

Meh I have not a clue as to my level. Don't really care one way or the other. I just know I read and etc.
Hmm... then perhaps you shouldn't mention any bass work Stream? Though that removes your one line of experience... Tricky position since most people seem to want to play guitar.
