Layton's heart skipped a few beats as his hand closed around the snitch and he breathed a sigh of relief, halting his broom in the air and holding his closed hand up. "Caught the snitch!" He then looked to Rhys, smiling at the younger seeker. "Good game."

He missed it, but it seemed as soon as he missed it Layton had the snitch; so naturally, he was more excited than ever. Tristan was determined for a better year than their last, and it all began with the first game of the season. Slytherin against Hufflepuff. He hated being the first team to play a match, it meant no chance to scout out the competition and prepare. It also meant they had to play harder; if they put up a strong front, the other teams won't get cocky like they were last year. He had faith in the team though, and Evander seemed to know what he was doing, moreso than Ryans ever did. (Not like that was much of an accomplishment, anyway.)
