Yeah, you're right. My mind went strange places in Chinese class the other day when I learned that 'mother' and 'horse' are spoken nearly identically.
Tones are a b***h. At least Suzu's trying to help. xD

Learning Mandarin? Be glad it is not Cantonese, you get at least 6 tones maybe 9 in that language.

ironically,that was the first thing in chinese the teacher said to her class,she used that as an example about tone of voice.

I just know "I love you" in Mandarin. My friend taught me to say it in Cantonese but I completely forgot how sweatdrop
