It wasn't often that Kevin got a phone call. He didn't have all that many friends. But as soon as the kelpie saw Toby's name on the screen, he answered. "Toby!" he greeted. "Are you going to come over sometime soon? I found out how to soft boil eggs."
Maia grinned. The kelpie certainly sounded enthusiastic.

Toby grinned. "Sure, I'll come visit you the next time I'm in the office. Hey, I called to ask you a question. How do you feel about weddings?"

"Your wedding or someone else's? Are you finally marrying Maia? Because I was going to ask her to marry me if you didn't hurry up. Remember? I told you." The kelpie paused. "Can I come?" he asked.

Toby just chuckled and let the boy ramble.
"My wedding, yeah. That's what I was calling about! It's going to be in Oregon on the beach. Do you want to come? I don't want you to have to be bored or anything."

"I want to come!" Kevin said, immediately. A trip to Oregon? Exciting! Seeing his favorite person get married? Even better! "I won't be. Can we swim at the beach? And there'll be cake?"

"Thank you for inviting me," Kevin said, smiling brightly. A trip and cake! Regardless of other circumstances, even that was still a good deal! "You should bring Maia over for eggs too."

Maia smirked at Toby. "Sounds like he's excited. What else do you think we need?"

Toby raised his brows and sighed. He began counting off on his fingers. "Invitations, venue, ordained minister, florist, baker, favors, decorations, rental furniture..."

"We're going to Sugar for the cake, right? I'll call them closer to the date." They couldn't possibly need almost a year in advanced, right? "Did you decide on the flowers?" she asked.

"Me?! No!" Toby said. He knew next to nothing about flowers, but besides that: "How could I choose flowers without a color scheme, hm?" He'd have to ask a lady friend about flowers...

"Try whites and blues," Maia suggested. She smiled at Toby, and placed a kiss on his cheek. "I'll look online for favors once we finish the invitations."
