Enki Leviathan Madi: Ya, basically a Steampunk Leviathan. At the moment, it's just going to be Levi and surrounding cities. Other locations will be created as we progress ^.^ Oh cool. I'll have to check that out.

I still am a furry, thank you, I just don't like when people make jokes like that. They're not really funny.
Madi: I'll be letting everyone know when it opens up but it may not be for a few days

Sorry, dude... but I've just heard too many people go, "Oh, steampunk... that's just like cyberpunk, right?"
"Ya, sure... except for a few hundred years, technology differences, cultural differences and nothing being the same, then ya."

It has the word "punk" in it for the same reason that cyberpunk does. It goes against standard conformity and usually isn't big on the whole "authority" thing. Many people who subscribe to steampunk are those that authority would call "brigands." Lots of mad scientists and airship pirates and ragamuffins.

enki will tell you better than i.
but technology hasn't progressed so far into all this nuclear rocket stuff. it's advanced, with gizmos and dirigbles and zepplins and all that victorian-era stuff [zepplins?!]. i like to use final fantasy 6 as an example, though there isn't magic in pure steampunk.

Man, I just heard about this and I already have some cool ideas for a Steampunk Silver.
I could make him an actual Homunculus, Full Metal Alchemist style.
I'd probably adapt him into some sort of fire magic based Gunmage, though, since I really liked Gunmages in the Iron Kingdoms steampunk setting.

I guess if there's any magic in a steampunk setting, it'd be alchemy. o=
... why isn't there any steampunk mmorpg, actually? It'd be like, one step above ********>

As much as I hated the ending and the emo-ness of FMA, the whole Alchemy thing was pretty cool.

The laws of equivalent exchange were an interesting concept but I'm still a little fuzzy on the concept of how they decided something was of equal value to something else after all the way a human perceives the value of something is different from its atomic value that is to say gold might be valuable to us but it is just made of different atoms just like everything else right? Wait.... I've confused myself never mind.
