Hikari wanted an answer....instead she got another kiss from Ran. She didn't know what to do....why was he doing this?....Hikari really didn't need this...she felt tears begin to well up in her eyes.....Ran shouldn't be kissing her but Ranpha...he did love her right? If he did then...why.. was he kissing her? Hikari closed her eyes as her tears began to fall on her cheeks....this wasn't right....she didn't want to be kissed if it wasn't out of love....yet while all this went threw her mind...she did nothing to stop Ran.

*Ran held it for a moment longer than finally broke the kiss. He pulled back and looked at Hikari. Her eyes were still closed and tears had rolled down her cheeks. He felt a wave of guilt wash over him as he reached over and wiped a tear away with his hand* ...I'm sorry, I just... *Ran shook his head and stepped away. He closed his eyes and started to walk down the stairs quietly...and alone*

Hikari continued to feel the tears stain her cheeks....she watched Ran walk away....what should she do? She felt guilty, very guilty...thinking she hurt not only Ranpha but Ran as well.....Ranpha for kissing Ran although he did kiss her first...and Ran.....for making him feel guilty. She didn't know why but she followed him going down the stairs while holding the rail and grabbed his shoulder. "...Ran...why?" she asked softly.

((Nov, Cain, and Ranpha are all going to kill me. xp ))
*Ran stopped in his tracks and felt Hikari's hand on his shoulder. He took a deep breath, but couldn't bring himself to turn around and face her* I've...I've bee told that love is something that is held between two people. That it's something sacred, seperate from lust. *He looked towards the ground and felt his words grow softer* I'm sure I do...but I... *He looked up at Hikari, a sense of plead in his eyes. He had the words in his mind, he just couldn't get himself to say them* Kari...what would you do if I said I loved you?

Hikari listened then saw the pleading look in Ran's eyes. Her face still being stained with tears that seemed to flow even more when Ran said his last sentecne. She placed her head down to the side and her eyes closed as more tears fell. "...Ran...you can't....you shouldn't.......you-you love Ranpha not me......not me.." she spoke softly trying hard not to have her voice crack from crying.

*Ran winced as more tears fell from Hikari's eyes. Every tear drop felt like a needle stabbing at his soul. He couldn't think of anything to say. Her words were true, but he couldn't help it. He was in love with Hikari. He had become torn between Hikari and Ranpha and knew that he would have to decide one day. But for now, it was just him and Hikari, and that's all that mattered right now. He stepped up to her and let his dark feathered wings fly out from his back. Ran slid a hand behind Hikari and thru her soft hair, the light strands running thru his fingers. He pulled her against him, leaned forward and kissed her deeply. His wings folded down around them and enveloped them in their own small world as they shared the moment. Just the two of them*

Hikari continued to let her tears fall. She...she should leave Ran to his thoughts....stay away from him for a while...his heart belonged to Ranpha not her...she would own no one's heart.....and would never. She was about to turn to walk away when Ran, ran his fingers through her hair. She opened her eyes and saw his wings were out then soon felt herself pulled to him. Soon followed by a deep kiss, one by which Kari never had before. She didn't know what to do as his wings folded around them, creating a world just for her and him. Her mind and heart continued to fight with the other until she placed her hands around Ran's neck and felt the warmth of him as he held her. From then on her heart took over....in which her heart telling her things..she never knew or thought to be true.

*Ran broke the kiss and looked down at Hikari. Her face now held a different expression than before, and so did his. He hugged her tightly against him and laid her head on his shoulder gently. He tilted his head forward and rested it on the softness of her hair, his eyes closed and his heart racing. His wings stayed firmly around them, as if protecting them from anything that would come between them* Kari-chan... *Ran continued to used the chan with her name, but no longer to address her as someone under him, but rather as someone dear to his heart* Kari-chan...do you hate me now? *His words were soft and calming as if coming from an angel rather than a demon. His question could lead to dispute between them, but he had to know how she felt. He had to see if she felt the same way that he did*

Kari began to breath in after Ran's deep kiss....her mind and heart racing...no it couldn't be true...her heart...her heart....couldn't no shouldn't have these emotions for Ran....he...he was suppose to be with Ranpha....the girl whom Hikari saw as a role model..a role model in which she could never be.....She continued to feel the warmth of Ran's body as he held onto her as she did to him. She felt his head on her's as her head was on his shoulder. She had her eyes closed by now, not wanting to open them for fear that everything around her would fade away...that her happy moment would be taken away again.....her happy moment before was....with her parents...she herd Ran's question and knew she would have to answer.
"..How..how could I hate you Ran? Why do you ask?" she asked softly yet with innocence in her voice.

::unaware of what was going on, simply wandering, November walks in on Hikari and Ran's little romantic bubble.... in fact, she walks right past them without seeing them then freezes and does a double take:: Hikari?!..... ::her eyes widen:: Ran?!

*Just as Ran was going to answer Hikari, he raised his head and looked at November who had walked past them. This was possibly the worst moment that she could have appeared. Instinctively, Ran's wings spread wider to shield and cover Hikari from Nov's view. He stared at November and titled his head* What do you want? stare

Hikari herd Nov just as Ran was about to answer her question......she could feel her tears wanting to fall again....she knew her happiness could never last.....she stayed quiet as tears fell again....I should have known......I have to leave...go and be away from Ran.....he..he has Ranpha....he DESERVES her as she deserves him..not me......I don't deserve anyone's heart..... she thought.

what are you doing? ::noticing he was hiding Hikari. she hadn't seen the tears on the other girl's face, or she might have reacted diffrenlty... she might not have gone on the offensive... she might have attempted to comfort the other girl.... if she hadn't seen Ran kiss the angel not an hour earlier, she might not have jumped to the conclusion she did.... if... if... if... so many ifs.... if only..... if only she wasn't so impulsive, if only she wasn't so protictive... if only she had a better sense of self preservation... she may never have even considered what she did, but before she had time to realize what conseqenses her actions would bring, her hand had already taken a mind of its own.... and had connected with Ran's cheek in a very loud, very painful open handed slap::

*Ran felts his face turn to the side as Nov's hand connected with it. He winced one eye shut and stared at her, his emotion unchanged. Straightening his posture back upright, he held Hikari closer to him as if protecting her. Instinctively, his hand shot up and slapped her back with enough forced to make any girl cry. He scooped Hikari up in his arms and started back down the stairs, figuring that this wasn't the best time to start a dispute. He continued to allow his wings to stay out, sheltering Hikari in his protective arms*

Hikari meantally winced as she herd the exchange of slaps between the slaps of Nov and Ran. Yet with Ran's slap she meantally winced with more pain....she felt even guiltier now....She continued to close her eyes out of fear what she would see....she felt Ran pick her up and then walk down the stairs. "...Ran..please...put me down..." she spoke softly...almost like a mouse.
