Went on a toy binge for graduating college, but am only opening one a day to make them stretch. First up? Voyager Seaspray! Not a bad figure, especially since his altmode is fairly flat and doesn't leave room for detail. I loathe how his head is clearly visible in altmode, but he does have the nice gimmick of being able to take on a more aquatic posture with fan/jets on his shoulders and fins on his feet in Bot mode. Decent, and glad to have him.
Also, he is supposedly able to have most scout-class vehicles ride in his alt mode, but haven't tried that yet.
EDIT: Tuesday Aug 24, 9:53pm . . . Well, opened Drift tonight. He has multiple blades, making him a good match for Bludgeon, as expected. I will say I am impressed with his posability, though his blades suffer from the same flexibility as Bludgeon- just not the pale color. Primary sword fits in his hands blade-up or blade-down, and the two smaller blades stow away nicely in his hip guards. Overall not a bad deluxe, with some interesting moves to get his legs right from alt mode. Again, worth the purchase.
EDIT X2: Furthermore on Drift, Thew.

Okay, been a couple days, and a couple toys opened. I now can say I've opened WfC Bumblebee and Prime.
BB: Oh Primus . . . he may be the first TF that I don't want to transform. He is lovely in bot mode, but his alt mode doesn't fit together well, and is truly a pain in the aft. Nothing against his looks, but he is nigh impossible to get into vehicular form.
Prime: Well, my only complaints on him are in fact true to the game. I am not fond of the "Batman Beyond" ears, and my favorite bit from the game is hidden. The autobot big on his back is hidden by some panels, but the fact that it's there is nice with me. A solid toy. 3nodding

Opened the gestalt team of DoubleClutch and the rallybot drones.
people lied.
His transformation is not smooth, the panels not lining up like they should. Also, in order to follow instructions, his gestalt mode would be gimpi as all get-out. What's worse, the rallybots do not transform well or easily. On two of the four, the gestalt point is hidden, meaning you have to do half the transforming just to get to the transformation gimmick.
Overall, very unimpressed.

As a whole I've found the two Powercore items I've gotten to be sort of.. Eh. Granted, I only have the Combaticons and Smolder(and his aptly named minicon Chopster, lol), and the torso sections' robot modes aren't horrible, per se. But the drones... I don't much care for the way they form. Most of the leg drones are fine, but the arm drones.. they bother me. Instead of hangs, usually they resemble scaffolding danging from the the robot's shoulder joints. A good example of this is the Missile Carrier from the Combaticons group. If I had another drone, I'd replace it. *twitch*
Also I've picked up Generations Thrust and Drift, with the WfC Oppy and Bumblebee coming soon. Thrust I can't say anything bad about, aside from him suffering the same poseability issues of all of the Starscream repaints. Drift.. I share Thew's opinion. I don't like his character, but it's a damn good toy. But 10 kanji on one bot is a bit much. I GET IT, HE'S A NINJASAMURAI. Sheesh.
I definately look forward to the Blurr repaint. *nod nod*

I find the thought of a blue repaint of Drift into Blurr . . . insulting. True, he is not the greatest mold, but I rather like Drift. To assume Blurr out of him is rather feh.
On a different note, I opened Mudslinger and the Destructicons tonight. Every problem I had with DoubleClutch and the Rallybots are erased with Mudslinger . . . far from perfect, but quite lovely! Mudslinger's green dominant paint scheme is not quite working for me, but the mold is good. What's more, his drones work wonders with Smolder- far better grouping there.
Overall, happy with this set. whee

Another day, another part of my TF binge! Today's lucky recipient? Huffer and his partner Caliburst!
Okay, Huffer is not the greatest mold ever. His transformation is rudimentary at best. Still, he doesn't look too bad in bot mode or in truck mode. Caliburst is also very easy to go from one mode to the next, so I am wondering if the whole "Four MODES!" works for the minicon partners. Not sold on that. Either way, by themselves the pair is nice.

Well, my opening spree is at an end. I have two left to report here, First is Searchlight with Backwind. Personally, I feel that the names should be reversed. Backwind will in my eyes refer to the rescue helicopter, replete with two sets of spinning blades. The alt mode is fine, but as is the case with most air mode TFs, his bot mode is quite uninspired with a fair amount of kibble/plates. Searchlight will now refer to the translucent green minicon partner, seeing as how his other forms include two (relatively) large lights. Just seems fair. His bot mode is very "Ug" in that it is hunched over, with arms that reach to the ground. Gives off a neanderthal kind of impression. His legs do not go straight, since the lights are the tops of his knees, and frankly no other mode than vehicular lamps do him any justice. Overall this one is back to meh status with me.
I also opened up skyburst and the arialbots gestalt. Skyburst himself is not bad, but suffers from a bit of the same issue as Backwind/Searchlight. LOADS of kibble in bot mode, and a bit in gestalt mode. I must say however, that his combination form is remarkably sturdy. It gives the impression of power in the chest how it locks together, and despite a very large panel that wants to flap down in the back, has no real drawbacks when put together. His drones are fairly good, three of the four gave me no issue. Recon plane becomes a decent 'hand,' and the chopper does an interesting three-pronged claw move. The only real complaint with these arms is the same for all combiners in this line. We really could have used articulation. No hands, no elbows. Really limits the posability. For his legs, they both require a step prior to combination, which if you recall from my rallybots review, such is a pain. If you have to half-transform them, then why have the gimmick at all?! The combat helicopter is decent enough, but my fighter jet drone was very stubborn, making combination difficult.
This set is not a bad one, just has a few kibble and laziness flaws. Decent set despite that though.

Drift is flipping SWEET. I love the secondary color on him, it's so unusual. Not quite a red, if I had to place it I'd call it fluorescent salmon. And it's used sparingly, so it accents the white nicely without raping your eyes.
He also reminds me of Tigatron. Tigatron is awesome. 'Nuff said.
Furthermore, robots with swords are awesome. We need more robots with swords.

Recently picked up Generations Drift, Thrust and Darkmount, as well as Animated Rodimus Minor. I'm thoroughly pleased with all figures. I was at's bit sketchy on Darkmounts alt mode, as it is a little on the smaller, stranger side. But the colour scheme and robot mode more than make up for it. It's probably one of my favourite robot modes thusfar.

Man, Hubcap is a nice little Scout. His alt mode is way classy, and his transformation and robot mode evoke a lot of the old classic Autobot car motif with the head coming out of a panel under the hood and the front end of the car becoming the chest. I dig him.

I am now the proud owner of a War for Cybertron version of both Megatron and Soundwave. Megs is interesting . . . I have a bit of issue with his foot panels, and of course his arm cannon does not attach to any part of him during the shift. That is a bit of a disappointment. Still, the modes are solid. The tank treads in altmode are disappointing as well. Still, a decent figure.
Soundwave is near-perfect. He has elements of the classic, and yet plenty of nods to the game. With the exception of a little kibble, he is great in bot mode. His transformation is simple and nice, and he even keeps weapon storage. Overall, another good figure. Both he and megs have largeish feet, so posing is not a problem.

Wow, it has been a while. Well, I picked up a Battle Blade Bumblebee . . . the transformation is quite nice, and having both arms convert weaponry is a nice touch. Now, his battle visor is a bit flimsy, and not something I care for, but the rest of him is nice.
B4 is a nice toy.

Voyager Highbrow is PIMP. I can see the criticisms of him, yeah, the propeller gimmick does make the forearms kind of awkward, and he has serious shelf hips, but other than that, it's pure gold. The WWII-ish alt mode is awesome. The aviator battle-mask seemed a little awkward at first, but it's grown on me.
Really, this is going to be one of those Love It Or Hate It figures. But all the potential Do Not Want is in his robot mode, and since he comes packaged in his robot mode you can check him out in a brick-and-mortar if you're on the fence.
