"Do whatever you say..." Gazali moved the cigarette from his mouth to his hand, blowing out smoke. He watched it disappear before answering, "Eh, alright. I'll do it." Most probably make an a** out of himself in the process, but he wasn't really concerned about that.

His smile growing only slightly, Seishirou nodded. "Very well then-- let's get you back to your place." He led Gazali faster now, taking to the skies and landing at Ed's quickly. "Three days, then..."

And the angel was gone.

He'd been wandering for so long he'd forgotten why he was wandering, what he was seeking. Whose voice called him, woke him in the middle of the night? Who was the beautiful creature whose crimson locks and vivid brilliance stole across the edge of his vision? Why was the only name that came to mind for any reason 'Atticus'?

None of it made any sense. And yet... he could do nothing but continue on, searching for the answer that had no question clearly formed.

Did it matter?

Nature herself seemed to rage against the demon's frame, tearing at the delicate spider-web wings. Screams fell from chapped lips, too numerous to count and yet still unheard. Soon there would be nothing left but a battered frame and a mind tormented by the too ambiguous whispers of the past.

Step onwards. One step closer to meeting your fate-- whatever that might be. You can't escape from your destiny, even without knowing what it is. Tempt the ladies of Fate and Nature at your own risk...

So there he was, the little demon Sajar was so interested in. Tch. Probably better off dead than here in this wasteland outside of the 'Miko' territories. Only the hardiest could survive in a desert like this for too long.

The demon was dying-- anyone with eyes and a brain could see that. Not that Rae cared-- other than the fact that it would mean more work for him later. But transporting him back to the Nest-- and thus to Sajar, to appease the overly-arrogant, self-centered brat-- would probably prove to be difficult-- his mind appeared to have long since fled.

Then again, playing with fire often meant that you got burned.

Two birds with one stone, it seemed. The coon had managed to find the demon after all... well. That hadn't been part of the plan, but Mordred was known for his ability to improvise. That was what tactics was, wasn't it? Tactics, a vital piece of Mordred's Self.

"Well, well-- two little nestlings far away from their home?" Mordred smirked, making his way over to the coon and demon.

Rae: *smirks slightly, although part of him inwardly snarls at Mordred's presence* And a fallen angel walking along the path?

Asteil: *whimpers and steps away*

Mordred: Perhaps the two of you should come along with me? *laughs as he moves too fast to see, scooping Asteil up* Or at least you, little one.

Asteil: *starts to struggle, calling out to let him go, to Atticus, to anyone*

Rae: I think you'd best reconsider. *perfectly calm* After all, it wouldn't do for the Lord of War to be caught up in a mess like this.

Mordred: 'Like this'? And what precisely would that mean, little boy?

Rae: *doesn't bristle at the condescending tone* That demon isn't anything but trouble.

Mordred: *smiles* I adore trouble.

Rae: Do you now?

Mordred: Indeed, I do. Then again, this place is well-suited to trouble. I think I enjoy being part of it-- so I'll just be taking him. You can find your way home, can't you, little boy?

Rae: *just laughs*

Mordred: *smirks* I thought so. You and your brother have that annoying habit of knowing what you want-- but can you get it? *and then he's off with Asteil, flying off...*

Edmund: *left the Townhouse without making a deal out of it, neither attempting to conceal his departure* *not quite sure why he feels... so uncomfortable, for the first time--is this fear of failure? There's never been fear before...* *knocks on the door politely*

Veda: *happens to be nearest to the door, so he glances out* Hello there, coony.

Edmund: Pardon me?

Veda: *shrugs* You want in, I'm guessing?

Edmund: *politely sarcastic* Am I so transparent?

Veda: *shrugs* Come on in then-- just don't kill anyone. *opens the door and moves back, wandering off*

Edmund: The subject had hardly crossed my mind... *in that tone where it might be joking but... o_O* *enters with a courteous nod*

Veda: *doesn't really mind, has gone off*

Edmund: *decides if the cat's not going to care, he isn't either* *and then realizes he hasn't the faintest where Sajar might be...* *sets off in a likely direction, in the gait of an invited guest exploring the premises*

Kaine: *actually out of his room for once, heading towards the kitchen when-- hey. New person? New person who hasn't shown up in the little notecards that tell you when people show up?* He-llo~ I don't know you.

Edmund: *inclining head politely* And it is my pleasure to greet you, my lord.

Kaine: *blinks* I'm not anyone's lord. Who're you?

Edmund: Forgive me, *somewhat crafted smile--the kind where it's amused but pretending not to be* I am called Edmund.

Kaine: *blinks* Edmund...? I haven't heard of you... sorry.

Edmund: There is no need for you to have heard of me, sir. I am of no consequence.

Kaine: *blinks* ...you are? *blinks* You're here. Why?

Edmund: I was hoping to meet a member of my pack... if I would not intrude upon him, of course.

Kaine: *blinks* Who? We have more coons-- yes. We have coons here. A bunch of them.

Edmund: One by the name of Sajar?

Kaine: *blinks* ....spikey-head-boy.

Edmund: Pardon?

Kaine: I've never really talked to him-- seen his picture though. He's got spikey hair.

Edmund: Is that so...

Kaine: *nods* And blue eyes. Not really pretty, but kind of pretty.

Edmund: /Wrapped up in the physical, aren't we?/ Do you know where I might find him, sir?

Kaine: Um... coon hall? *shrugs* The coons stay in the east wing usually.

Edmund: Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Kaine: *smiles* Wait... I've seen you before.

Edmund: Really now?

Kaine: The other pictures. Of important people.

Kaine: You're....... someone's friend.

Edmund: *perfectly pleasant, allowing him time to digest and spill if he should feel the need* I had no inkling of such.

Kaine: *blinks* Okay. Anyway... this way!

Edmund: *intends to investigate later but, oh well* *blinks as well* You intend to guide me, sir? How kind.

Kaine: *smiles* You'll probably get lost-- since this place changes.

Edmund: I had heard... Thank you, in that case. Lead on.

Kaine: *laughs and leads Edmund till they get to a hallway* Um... I think the door that's covered in chocolate wrappers is Willy's... the one with the clock's Balin's... the one with the Keep Out sign is Tatsumi's... so one of the other two.

Edmund: *examining the doors with reserved curiosity--describe?*

*one door is plain white-- the other appears plain white until you get close-- then it appears to have very lightly carved runes in it-- runes Edmund doesn't recognize*

Edmund: *looking between the two, knocks on the plain first*

*no answer*

Edmund: *not to be deterred, knocks on the other*

*no answer*

Edmund: /And this is what the key is for./ *uses the key on the plain, he doesn't want to bother the runes unless its necessary*

Sage: *sitting at his desk with headphones on* *glances up and takes out the headphones* Oh, excuse me...

Edmund: No, forgive my intrusion *looking somewhat embarassed*

Sage: *stands* Is there anything I can do to assist you?

Edmund: *expression turning from the reserved embarassment to a likewise reserved resolve* Actually, my lord... I fear there is. *pocketing the key without flourish or attempt to conceal, treating it as any other normal object*

Sage: Oh? And what is that?

Edmund: *quietly, not meeting his gaze* It concerns the machinations of you and your brother, my lord.

Sage: 'Machinations', sir?

Edmund: Perhaps it is bold of me to refer to them as such... Your hopes, then, my lord. Hopes and pursuit of them, as your pursuit of the demon Asteil...

Sage: *quite calmly* Hopes, you say? I'm afraid I misunderstand you. I merely sent my brother after a runaway housemate.

Edmund: *blandly* Indeed.

Sage: Miss raven is most concerned that Asteil might be off harming himself.

Edmund: Do you find it likely?

Sage: Quite possibly. He was in a terrible state when he left.

Edmund: *not really to himself, and obviously so, but keeping up the pretense of murmuring anyway* Oh, the terrors botched Quests do wreak...

Sage: 'Quests', sir?

Edmund: Pardon?

Sage: I'm unsure of what you meant, Sir.

Edmund: Surely only one thing can possibly come to mind, my lord... the Quests set before our potential leaders?

Sage: ...but 'botched'?

Edmund: But of course--excuse my bluntness, but have you not heard the rumors?

Sage: Rumors are always about. Then again, they're seldom true.

Edmund: Ah, though the kernel of truth remains.

Sage: Does it really?

Edmund: Concerning Atticus'.... failure? *speaks slowly, as if it is difficult to admit* At least in part, I am inclined to believe...

Sage: I'm afraid I misunderstand you-- he could not have failed, as he is a pack leader.

Edmund: *looks away once more, seeming ashamed to explain this* It was not... a pure success... either, my lord.

Sage: I somehow can't see that being particularly possible.

Edmund: *somewhat reproachful* You have only to see the end of Asteil, surely... And, perhaps, the... 'unfinished' quality... of his right wing...

Sage: Are you telling me they're somehow connected? I'm afraid I can't believe that.

Edmund: *smiling slightly, eyes fixed graciously on the floor near Sajar's feet* Then you are limited, my lord.

Sage: *laughs quietly* Any reason you've come here?

Edmund: *looks at him with a purely deceptive expression* Of course.

Sage: Care to explain now?

Edmund: As stated, my lord, it concerns the machinations--excuse me, I mayn't even call them hopes?--of you and your brother.

Sage: *laughs* I'm afraid you have the wrong set of siblings-- my brother and I are merely attempting to assist Miss raven.

Edmund: My apologies. Though perhaps you mistake my intentions.

Sage: Do I?

Edmund: You take me for a schemer, my lord. I do regret that.

Sage: *laughs* I've heard of you, Sir Edmund.

Edmund: *softly* No 'sir' may stand before my name.

Sage: *smiles* Is that so?

Edmund: It is.

Sage: Very well then.

Edmund: Pardon my curiosity, then, but what... 'rumors' have you heard of me?

Sage: A great many-- including that you're a friend of someone in this household.

Edmund: 'Friend' seems presumptuous, my lord.

Sage: I only know what I've been told.

Edmund: It seems, then, that truth stretches quickly... But has this alone bred such distrust?

Sage: Given who this person is? Yes.

Edmund: A pity... My apologies again, therefore. I had hoped to lend what aid I could, but perhaps it is only my place to observe.

Sage: Aid to what? I fail to understand what you think I'm about.

Edmund: Of course.

Sage: I do not understand.

Edmund: *like a broken record~* Of course.

Sage: *rolls his eyes* If that's all you had to say, then I think we are done.

Edmund: *slight smile* Of course.... my lord. *as he turns* Though I fear you may not follow any advice given from such depths, might I suggest you would find more aid in the lover than the loved?

Sage: 'The lover', you say? And who, pray tell, are you referring to?

Edmund: The one you've failed to pay attention to, my lord.

Sage: *laughs quietly* Is that so.

Edmund: It is. *leaves*

Sage: *considers this for a long moment*

Yagil: *had been bouncing along when he notices Edmund leaving Sage's room* *blinkblink* Are you Sage's friend? I didn't think he had friends.

Edmund: *politely* I fear I've been saying this quite a bit of late, but... 'friend' is entirely presumptuous in this situation.

Yagil: Oh. I thought only friends were allowed in the rooms.

Edmund: Perhaps you are correct. *still leaving*

Yagil: Where ya goin~?

Edmund: On a journey, I believe.

Yagil: To where?

Edmund: I'm not quite sure, unfortunately.

Yagil: Why?

Edmund: *surprisingly honest, as far as he's concerned* To find my brother.

Yagil: Is he lost?

Edmund: *trite* Quite.

Yagil: Like Teil?

Edmund: Perhaps...

Yagil: ...that's sad.

Edmund: /Good.../ Perhaps moreso when he is found...

Yagil: *looks unhappy-- which is a big deal for him* ...he's a good person, you know.

Edmund: Pardon?

Yagil: ...Teil. He's a good person, but he's confused right now.

Edmund: It is to my folly that I had not known him better... *sounds genuinely sympathetic*

Yagil: *softly* Someone's mad at him. That's why he's confused. It's not his fault he ran away. Some people are mad at him for running away.

Edmund: An unfortunate truth.

Yagil: He just wants to find Atticus. And he doesn't even know why.

Edmund: *really catching on that the little.. bouncy... thing... knows way more than it should, but not going to press the point just yet* Pardon?

Yagil: He's sad because he wants to find Atticus but Atticus ran away too. But Teil doesn't know that Atticus is his key.

Edmund: ...Pardon?

Yagil: *suddenly smiles again* I hope you find your brother.

Edmund: As do I...

Yagil: *softly* I hope everyone finds who they need to soon...

Edmund: How kind.

Yagil: If they don't, bad things happen.

Edmund: An astute... 'observation'.

Yagil: *looks kind of sad* ...bad things mean people get sad. And then more bad things happen. And then the nice people get hurt.

Edmund: Then we had all better hope for Atticus to go where he ought to.

Yagil: ...he's the key. But not the only one.

Edmund: So had I gathered.

Yagil: ...everyone has their own key. Do you know whose key you are? *and then is bouncing down the hall again*

Edmund: Absolutely not. *in an amused way, however*

Yagil: I know whose~ *and then he darts off, chasing a rubber ball that fell*

Edmund: *has decided he doesn't like Yagil* *continues to leave*

*Mordred is exiting the forest*

Edmund: *stops on the steps and waits for Mordred, no need to conceal a connection to him if others know already*

Mordred: *smiles slightly as he strides over* Finished already?

Edmund: *affected exhausted tone* Not quite.

Mordred: Anything I can assist you with then? *can't hide that smile as he considers who he left in the woods*

Edmund: I would not presume to bother you, my lord.

Mordred: It's no bother.

Edmund: In that case, it's no bother either. I would not presume to trouble you with idiots.

Mordred: *laughs* Well then, would you like to see the little demon boy?

Edmund: *polite surprise* You seem to be much more accomplished than I, my lord. Lead the way, if you would.

Mordred: *laughs* Come along then. *leads the coon into the forest, deep into the dark shadows of the place, till he stops before a huge oak tree*

Edmund: *not the type to go 'splorin' in this kind of scenario* Do forgive me, my lord, but that's not a demon. *referring to the tree*

Mordred: *smiles* I needed to hide him somewhere the housemates wouldn't find, and a place where he could stay when the perimeter shifts. *touches a knot on the tree, a crevice swinging open to reveal a staircase down* Shall we?

Edmund: *perturbed by 'magics', as he has ever been, but willing to accept them if they're coming from Mordred* *nods, can't quite bring himself to words, either leads or follows according to Mordred's inclination*

Mordred: *leads the boy deep below and into a room where the said demon is curled up on a cot, his right leg loosely bound to the wall*

Edmund: Hm. *doesn't matter if it's out loud, he's clearly still somewhat puzzled as to what he's supposed to do with Asteil now that he's found him--or, Mordred's found him* *still... there's some sort of satisfaction in getting him to Balin before Sajar or Rae... but revenge isn't a very productive endeavor* Would it be more advantageous to remain on Balin's side or to attempt to subvert him, my lord?

Mordred: I'm not actually certain. It seems to be frustratingly easy to get places with this boy-- but no place I actually want to be at. *sighs* He's... quite strange.

Edmund: Is that so? /Side with the brothers, imminent annoyance. Stay with Balin, chance being found out, even if changing Atticus' reputation is so much easier on Balin's side of the scale.../ My lord, if you'll pardon my asking, what is the best possible outcome you could hope for?

Mordred: *considers it* Well... I'm not sure.

Edmund: Then... my lord... why do you do these things? *indicates Asteil*

Mordred: Well, the other options were to leave him with Rae, or leave him out there to die.

Edmund: And this would have mattered to you?

Mordred: I think that it's a great deal more interesting to have the cards in our hands than in someone else's.

Edmund: *slightly amused at the 'our'* Of course... Unfortunately, it doesn't appear you have any bid on the hand.

Mordred: ....true. As of yet.

Edmund: *beginning to get the idea that he's not going to get the idea* Hm. I am inclined to believe we should do our... duty... and put him in the care of someone responsible. *in that tone where you know he's not really talking about Asteil's safety, just his decision*

Mordred: *nods carefully* Any suggestions? I can't keep him at the Nest without leaving him open for Rae and Sajar to get their claws into.

Edmund: Is Balin unable to prevent his own from getting their paws dirty?

Mordred: *laughs* He's been.. rather difficult to see recently. Mainly because he's obsessed with Atticus' disappearance.

Edmund: Odd. *pause* Well, if we can't entrust him to anyone, he must be safest here...

Mordred: *considers* For now at least. I still have to check a few of the new housemates to see if they would serve as possible keepers.

Edmund: If you don't mind, my lord, I should wish to keep as few involved as possible...

Mordred: *blinks* Ah, of course. That would be the wisest course.

Edmund: *bows head in respect* My thanks.

Mordred: *laughs* You needn't thank me, you know.

Edmund: My lord, it would be rude of me to ignore the aid you've provided.

Mordred: *smiles* Then don't ignore it. But you don't have to thank me. I have my own stake in this.

Edmund: I hope to one day be worthy of that reason. *somewhat amused, visibly so* For now... it seems best that I should return, before anyone takes particular notice of my absence.

Mordred: *smiles slightly* Of course, Edmund. I'll call on you again soon, if that's all right?

Edmund: Whenever you should so wish, my lord.

Mordred: *laughs* Then I will. This way. *leads Edmund back up and out* ...you know your way back to the Townhouse?

Edmund: Assuming East is still East, then yes.

Mordred: Of course. Take care of yourself, Edmund. *and then the angel disappears among the trees*

Severus, Hecate and Maura Des arrived at the Nest as planned, the three of them with enough clothing and such to last them a few days. Once they were allowed inside and given their rooms, Severus thanked Mistress Raven for allowing them to stay there for a few days, while the two boys went off to explore and find people. Hecate bounded off to find Remus and pounce him, while Maura was a bit more hesitant, until he found Felix or Prem.

Remus was in his room, reading over papers and charts and trying to make sense of the direction his life had turned in. This really wasn't... what he'd planned. At all. But this was where he was, and responsibility and love for his sons dictated that he had to follow through on this devil's bargain he'd made...

Prem, characteristically drunk, staggered through the halls till a welcome sight came to his unfocused eyes. "MAU~WA~!" he yelled, attempting to bound over to his brother, succeeding only in tripping over his own feet, rolling to a stop in front of the two-tailed wolf.

Severus stopped outside of the door, looking at it for a long time, silent.

Don't bother, boy. Remus only agreed to take you in for charity.

He lowered his eyes, shaking. What if his father's voice was right?

You think he actually gives a damn about you?

Then, finally, with a shaking hand, he knocked on Remus's door.

"Damn, Prem.. You're going to break your neck one day!" Maura laughed, kneeling infront of his brother and putting his arms around him to hug him.

What's Happening At The Nest...? (Part I)

12345Bounce. Bounce. Gold goes up; gold comes down. Balance. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For every reaction, another reaction. And so on and so on. For every person there is a key. For every key there is a person. But not every person is a key because if every person were a key, there would be chaos. Not everyone can mean something to someone else. Some people exist only for themselves-- and that meant that--
12345Wait.
12345Recognize.
12345Q?
12345This was where the visions had told him to go, and thus, this was where he went. Fickle, fickle fortune had led him to a strange, strange place where the trees whispered stories of a time when the world shifted and became static once again. The air here shimmered with power-- power which had once been used, and power now absent. How fitting that this was where Quillian's errant friend had ended up for the moment.
12345It hadn't been difficult at all to get inside the house, as the skeleton key could open any door locked by something less than powerful magic. No one questioned his presence either-- apparently visitors weren't uncommon in this household-- which was a surprise in and of itself. A place this powerful should have more guards-- or such would be expected, at least. Unless the eyes were within the walls themselves...
12345No matter. Vision said that Yagil could be found here, and thus here Q had come. It was imperative that they meet again before chaos overtook the general area--
12345Gold. There he was.
12345"Q...? Q!!!" The first, a question, unsure, hesitating. The second, a joyful exclamation of exuberant, brilliant, unadulterated glee. "Key, key, key~!" Yagil sang out as he jumped up to give the unicorn a tight hug, holding him close. "Key comes home to the lock~"
12345"No lock but keys can see shining," Q grinned and twirled the monkey around. "It's been a long time, Gilly-- you've been hiding from me!" Not that the unicorn particularly believed that, (or would blame Yagil if it were true, as they hadn't parted on exactly the best of terms) but it seemed the right thing to say.
12345"Hiding, no-- waiting, yes!" Yagil giggled and started pulling Q towards his room. "Talk now-- let everyone know later. Find you room and all!" Without waiting for the argument which wouldn't come, Yagil led the unicorn along.

12345No one was talking about it. Damnit, why was no one talking about it? It had to be on their minds as much as it was on his! They were Guardians-- they took care of their Summoner, so why wasn't he here? Where was he? Why weren't the other two as worried as Tidus was? Why weren't they saying anything?!
12345"Calm down. You're not going to do anyone any good by getting riled up about this, are you?" Lulu asked, brushing back a stray strand of his long, dark hair. The black mage was getting pretty tired of watching Tidus walk back and forth across the room-- if the boy wore a hole in the floor, Lulu swore that Tidus would find himself on the wrong side of a Thunder.
12345"Yah, listen to Lu, ya know? I mean, I know everyone's worried about not seeing Yuna and--"
12345There. They'd said it. "Well, if everyone's worried, why aren't we looking for him?!"
12345"Perhaps it hasn't occurred to you that this isn't the first time Yuna's disappeared, Tidus. It isn't that we don't care-- it's more that we're well-versed in the many ways he can hide when he doesn't want to be found. When Yuna's ready to face us, he'll show up. Until then, it's best not to get yourself too riled up," Lulu chided the rat gently. "Sit down."
12345"Yeah, what Lu said. It's not like Yuna can't take care of herself, ya know? She made it pretty clear, at least to Lu and me that she didn't want to be looked after anymore-- she wants a chance to grow up, ya know? You went through that phase too," Wakka reminded Tidus, ever so helpful in making the boy feel better about himself.
12345They just didn't get it, did they? Tidus didn't just worry about Yuna's ability to take care of himself-- it was more than--
12345Damn them. They did understand. It was in their eyes. And that was why they weren't commenting now that he was closing in on himself. Damn them. Damn them both.
12345The rat stormed out, and the pair just let him leave. He'd calm down eventually-- all three of them knew that much.

12345Okay. Time to try again. The last... 45? times he'd tried to call Adrian, the line had been busy or out of service. Florian was beginning to get extremely worried about the dark boy. He had a bad tendency to get caught up in himself and spiral out of control-- and Florian didn't want to be any part of that. He just wanted to make sure Adrian was ok... that nothing had happened to him since the Nestlings had kicked the boy out of the Nest.
12345No sooner had he picked up the phone than it went dead in his hand. It was... discouraging, to say the least. Not to mention the returned, unopened letters didn't help; the piles of thoughts and considerations of Adrian, memories of what had captured Florian's heart in that sarcastic, beautiful boy only served to depress Florian-- which was rather difficult to do.
12345Perhaps it was those memories which chased Florian out of the Nest to go for a walk-- no further than the mini mall, really! The mall might have something to cheer Florian up... a new shirt, or something...

12345"We have a problem."
12345"Just one?" the doctor smiled slightly, "I'd say we have a good many problems right now, Hao-kun. The primary one being that if we are to go through with our next experiment, we must first locate where our efforts placed our last."
12345"Now, now-- you make it seem as though we did something wrong this time, Seishirou-san," Muraki laughed quietly. "While we may have changed procedure a bit, I don't think we didn't anything drastically enough to provoke the reaction we've gotten this time. I'd say it's a triumph of some sorts."
12345"So you say, but you're the one who was distracted because he finally realized his son was missing," Karasu rolled his eyes. "Speaking of which, any sign of the brat yet?"
12345"Actually, yes, he's been located," Muraki shrugged. "Though it seems as though he doesn't wish to return, and my mate has no issue with his new guardian. It seems to not be a problem at all, in fact.
12345"Well, that's certainly good news," Seishirou laughed quietly. "In fact, better news than you've given us in a while. Though that still doesn't answer the question of where our experiment ran away to."
12345"We can't say 'ran away' if he didn't actually show up here," Hao considered. "The Spirit of Fire is out looking for any clues, but until then, we should just keep an eye on things and go about our other businesses."
12345"You mean our separate businesses," Seishirou smiled. "I think that's an excellent idea, Hao-kun."

12345Hisoka felt somewhat sick to his stomach. He hadn't noticed Tatsumi's absence. Again. He was an Empath-- he was supposed to keep an eye on the things going on at the Nest. But with all the chaos that had been going on, and with Muraki's... children... Hisoka hadn't been himself recently. In fact, he'd been as reclusive as some of the other members of the Nest who were never seen outside of their rooms. He hadn't even bothered trying to contact Tsuzuki-- since the wolf would either be smart and stay away for a while, or inexplicably show up one day at his door.
12345Either way, it wouldn't be especially pleasant. Hisoka knew that right now, he couldn't handle dealing with people.
12345Why was he feeling like this? Possibly because the entire Nest was on edge-- the emotions were screaming through the air. The tense, frantic air which only arose upon impending threat of... something inexplicable. More likely because he'd actually seen one of Muraki's sons a few days ago, when the Nestlings were doing the headcount. That little boy...
12345Most children carried an air of innocence, even just a tinge of that difference that so separated them from the adult world. Hisoka understood that better than most, his life having been effectively cut off at age thirteen, but that boy... Udell... something about him made Hisoka wither on the inside, the kitten's normal calm breaking under the steely, calm gaze of a boy.
12345And that wasn't something Hisoka could share with Tsuzuki. The older shinigami had far too many unpleasant encounters with Muraki to take that kind of news-- which was why the kitten had been so distraught upon learning that Tatsumi was among the number missing. It wasn't fair... it wasn't fair at all.

12345All he could think was that it was someone's lucky day that his sons weren't among the missing. He wasn't sure what he would've done if they had been-- especially since the only ones who really spent significant amounts of time with the boys were their parents and the ever-trustworthy Alan. Cino would die before hurting the boys-- and Alan would kill whoever tried to hurt them, rescue the boys, and then kill himself for failing to protect the children. So, Sakirou concluded that his boys were in fairly safe hands.
12345This did not, by any means, mean he relaxed when he didn't know where they were.
12345"You're doing it again," Cino sighed softly to his mate, leaning against him. "The boys are fine-- they're not going anywhere," he chided Saki gently. "As long as we're here, together, we'll be fine. Besides, there's no proof yet that everyone didn't just go off on their own, Saki."
12345"I'd rather be safe than sorry--"
12345"I know, but you don't need to count the babies every other minute. They're not going to disappear."
12345Saki found himself about to protest when Cino's green, green eyes bored into him. "...all right then..."
12345Beacan's soft, pale-green eyes fluttered open at the sound of his parents voices, and the little crossbreed swam to the edge of the tiny tank the babies shared for playing. "Daddy, Daddy, play?" he called, his sweet voice drifting through the air to his parents in that delicately loving plea.
12345Noting his younger brother's call, Arien rolled his eyes and swam over as well. "If you want to play, Bea, then come play with me and Cali. Don't bother our Dads!"
12345Calixto had been playing along the edge of the tank, so he toddled over as well-- not wanting to be left out. "We can play on our own-- they're talking!!"
12345Laughing softly, Cino got up to go play with his sons-- he would just deal with them for now-- let Saki rant and wonder as much as he wanted... Cino would calm down with his boys...

12345It wasn't that Paki had gotten clingier than before, it was that he didn't know whether or not to be worried about Zahur's recent turn for the more emotional. Not emotional in the sense of the subtle emotions generally attributed to humanoids, but emotional in the volatile sense. Since learning of the disappearances in the Nest, Zahur had gotten more protective of Paki-- to the point where the normally reclusive pair spent most of their time deep within the waters of their tank.
12345You're mad at me, Zahur sighed softly as he held Paki close in their underwater home. You're angry that I'm paranoid about everything going on up there.
12345Less angry and more worried, Paki admitted quietly. I know you, Zahur-- you don't want to be so angry about it. You can't stop it, and it's going to only cause more problems-- we both know that. We've seen it happen before. This is just one more time. So let's just let it lie for now. I'm not going anywhere-- and you're not either. So we'll be fine.
12345It wasn't that Zahur didn't want to believe his mate. In fact, not believing him was nearly the last thing on Zahur's mind. What did cross his mind on multiple occasions, however, was the fear of losing the only person to ever really care about him. The brawny mer didn't know how to deal with other people, and the thought that Paki might be stolen away from him terrified the mer in ways he didn't care to think of.
12345Zahur was thinking too much again, obviously. Kissing his mate deeply, Paki prepared to distract his foolish mate from the worries at hand-- there were much more important things than the disappearances that had nothing to do with either of them.

12345It wasn't that Seifer normally brooded-- at least, it wasn't that he normally brooded where others could see him. But this whole idea of people randomly disappearing from the place the Knight had begun to call his 'home' made him uneasy. There was something afoot here, and he'd be damned if he didn't get to the bottom of it any way he could. He'd have to make some sacrifices to do that, but... it would have to be done.
12345"You're thinking too much again," Nakago commented from the window sill where the tiger watched the outside world. "The disappearances are coincidences-- nothing more than that. You shouldn't be allowing them to rule your thoughts, Seifer."
12345Seifer knew the shogun was right, but he couldn't convince himself to listen to him. There were too many damn coincidences-- and the last time he'd seen this many, it had led to the finding of his Lady. That had been glorious and painful-- and Seifer well knew that if such devotion and loyalty were ever to be presented to someone else again, it would probably have the same, painful repercussions, which was precisely why he spent most of his time with Nakago. The tiger had no interest in Seifer's loyalty-- only in what he could be used for, and that suited Seifer just fine for now.
12345Cold blue eyes watched the angel as he sat on the bed, Nakago deciding not to push the boy too hard now. Seifer was frustrating-- in and of himself. He was simply too unsure of how things worked in this world-- which was a pity. He also refused to listen to anyone else, which was also a pity, given that he didn't understand that this world required more than a single person's efforts to make the world 'right', as Seifer saw it. But he'd figure it out in time.
12345Or Nakago would make him understand.

12345Edan sighed as he pulled his brother closer. Fear had surrounded the brothers their whole life-- especially since reaching the Nest. They'd been rescued and brought here, their home devoured in the fire. Though they'd been here for nearly half a year, the boys hadn't met most of the members of the household until that headcount-- which proved to be shocking for both Edan and Gwydion.
12345It wasn't that Gwydion was getting sick of Edan always looking after him-- it was that he wanted some time away from his overprotective younger brother. In fact, the headcount was the first time they'd actually been separated-- which had been, surprisingly enough, something of a relief for Gwydion. He'd managed to get a few moments alone, and discovered that he no longer carried the same copious amounts of fear he'd felt drenched in before. He was growing up...
12345And Edan wasn't. Which was really the fundamental problem when it came down to it. Gwydion was growing up faster than his twin brother, which slowly but surely created a rift between the pair. It wasn't exactly healthy, but it was a fact of life.
12345Edan knew something was changing within his brother; he could feel it. The subtle shifting of attention, of moods-- the Yin and the Yang were separating into two lives where they'd been so completely joined. The younger unicorn wasn't so proud that he wouldn't admit to wanting things to remain as they were, wanting things to remain static-- but that wouldn't do. Things always had to move-- that was the glory and the tragedy of the whole affair...
12345...they'd work this out one way or another.

12345He'd done it, he'd done it! Willy found himself overjoyed, watching the young adult stir the chocolate, serving himself in a delicate teacup blossom before taking a sip and smiling. Willy had managed to take a previously completely candy-less child and turn him into a connoisseur of chocolate! Chocolate and butterscotch and taffy-- and all the other thousands of millions of candies being made in the factory!
12345Watching Willy curiously as the coon jumped for joy, Ignacio took another sip before biting delicately into the buttercup-teacup blossom's petal. Glorious, sweet, sugary goodness filled his mouth, bringing a deeper glow to his cheeks. Willy had taken Ignacio from his parents and introduced him to this world of wonder and this mystical, magical myriad of tastes and colors. Away from the cold sterility of his unicorn-father, away from the brilliant nothing of his angel-father. Ignacio couldn't be more grateful for that-- so he'd dedicated his life to helping Willy...
12345Otis watched the pair as they worked together, adding the slightest bit of cream and sugar at Ignacio's motion. He approved of the young apprentice-- the boy seemed to be taking well to this environment. They'd all do well together when it came down to it, provided the parents didn't show up. That might be a little messy-- but deal with that when the time came. Until then...

12345"You're sure about this?" Balin asked his little bat, staring at Cayden. "Is he safe?" This was a new development. After having Cayden look for so long, the pet had finally found Asteil's location. "Good. Keep an eye on him for me."
12345What to do about it though? Atticus was still nowhere near being around this area-- though for all Balin knew, his errant Beta could be on his way home. It didn't seem extraordinarily likely, but it was possible. After being around for so long, Balin well knew that just about anything was possible when it came down to it.
12345Atticus was an idiot. He'd broken the rules, and now there were multiple people suffering the consequences. Then again, that was his fate-- his element itself spoke of walking on the edge, the fine line. Balin would help him if he could--
12345...but only if Atticus wanted it.

12345Well, well, well. Things were moving faster than expected-- at least in the matter of the 'Circle' as they still called themselves. Well, Lucius had his own Circle to do his bidding, although their number remained mildly divided under the current regime or lack thereof. When everything began to put itself in place, Lucius would take care of the problems.
12345Until then, he'd deal with the current issues. Like the kitten standing there watching him.
12345"Baka-yarou-- do you really think no one notices what you're doing?" Ren snarled out under his breath, glancing around the room. The tiger didn't trust Lucius at all-- he might not have any proof of what the snake was doing, but that didn't stop Ren from assuming the worst from the little he did know.
12345"I actually think that no one would believe you if you tried to accuse me of anything, little boy," Lucius shrugged, barely glancing up from the papers he'd been considering. "Since you haven't proved your worth to anyone here, and the Nestlings have proven to be less that trustworthy on average and as a whole, I'd assume that they wouldn't believe your word over mine."
12345"Kisama-- I'll find a way." Ren was more than determined-- he was pissed. The tiger swore to take care of this-- more than anything else. Lucius was a danger to someone. Everyone...

12345He'd been drifting in and out of consciousness since the news came in that Daddy-Remus was missing. It... hurt to stay awake for too long, to face the reality which only led to tears, tears, and the ever-aching sense of loss. He'd always been the odd one of the family, the only one who had so many problems with magic... but Daddy-Remus had always been there.
12345Felix sighed and gently ran his fingers through Prem's hair. He'd taken out the tiny braids the night before, in an attempt to give Prem a chance to relax a little more. Granted, it had also given Felix a chance to do something... useful... but... still. He didn't know what to do. He'd cast a sleep spell on Prem in order to give the boy a chance to actually sleep, but Felix was running out of options, and Prem wasn't showing any sign of getting better. How could he deal with this...?
12345The older wolf was beginning to miss the steadiness of having someone there... which was why he'd started turning to Alan... but Felix was beginning to feel horrible about imposing on the demon...

12345...it had been a while since he felt useful. Alan had almost forgotten what it was like to take responsibility for so many, what it was like to be wanted and needed to keep a group together.
12345Once this sort of feeling was something he'd reveled in and cherished-- once it had been an integral part of who he was. But now? Now he was someone so different, someone who hid away from the powers he'd gained in order to protect himself and others. The game of survival was over-- he'd returned to the beginning of where he'd been, only now he carried with him the experiences he'd gained when trapped in the ever-night, coating his hands with blood over and over again in the name of survival.
12345Here... here was different. There were differences here and now that didn't exist... before. Before everything. Before Jacinto had shown up and led Alan away from his family, led him into a life of ever-shadow and sadism. Alan hadn't understood then, hadn't noticed that the life he'd led before had been so precious-- he'd known, of course, as every husband and every parent knows in his heart. But he hadn't known, or so he believed. He could've spent more time taking care of his family--
12345But Alan had been brooding on this sort of thing, this exact train of thought, regarding his family, for... a while. Since Jac sunk his fangs into his neck, forcing blood down Alan's throat. Since that sickly-sweet copper flooded Alan's body and warped it, changed him into something un-human and inhuman. Since he'd heard the screams when he'd first used his damned powers; since he'd watched the way these terrible things had come forth from him.
12345Alan was a simple man. He didn't carry the ability for the delicate manipulations; the finesse so many of the Nestlings carried for subtlety and deception didn't reside within him. He wasn't one of the ones who took his time and discovered different ways to twist the words he thought into meanings to influence the world around him. It just wasn't his way.
12345And yet he was still in charge, in some ways, as strange as it seemed. The Nestlings deferred to his judgement-- at least, in some matters, which meant something. It gave Alan a sense of being capable, able to handle things again.
12345He was beginning to realize that the past had to be put aside sometimes-- never to be forgotten, no, because that would defile those who'd been left behind-- in order to allow for the present to grow. Alan had been trapped for so long-- caught in a moment while being jerked here and there by forces far beyond his control. Now he was finally moving again, and he was beginning to look, realize, understand...
12345How strange. Alan knew so much more now... and he was beginning to feel more at ease with himself than he'd ever been in the past... while...

12345Al hadn't had any idea how many people were in the house until everyone popped up out of nowhere on that day for that headcount thing. The monkey didn't really understand it, deciding firmly that he'd rather spend time focusing on the fact that there were so many interesting little things going on that only a thief would notice.
12345For example, Al hadn't had any idea that interesting people existed in the Nest. Sure, there were the usual maniacs-- but there actually were people who captured the monkey's interest. Like Adam, for instance.
12345The man was ugly, in a fuzzy way. And terribly obsessed with himself. But Aladdin felt a sort of kinship with him, this sort of being judged based on appearance of face or character. Although... Adam didn't seem to appreciate Al, as the wolf was currently attempting to chase Al out of his room.
12345Adam swore as the monkey dodged him again, attempting to fiercely trap the pesky little brat. The Beast wasn't used to being thwarted by tiny little brats like this-- and frankly, Aladdin was beginning to get on his nerves. Every single other person in the Nest had left him alone, but this little monkey, upon literally running into him at the headcount, had decided to follow Adam and not give him a moment's peace.
12345"GET OUT!!!!" Adam roared, finally succeeding in pinning Aladdin against the wall. The Beast glared, his dark eyes flashing at the little thing.
12345"Aw, c'mon, Beastie! I just wanna-- ow!" Aladdin winced as Adam struck him hard. "No, I just-- ow! Ow!!! That hurt!!!"
12345`After several minutes, Aladdin finally got pushed out of the room...

12345"Stay still, Navid, so I can fit you," Cordell murmured softly to his fidgeting son. "You look so pretty," the angel whispered as he adjusted the delicate silk draping the beautiful crossbreed. "So very pretty."
12345Navid fussed with his lace collar, rather enjoying the feel of silk against his delicate skin. He enjoyed his father's attention, getting these gloriously pretty clothes to play in. Father spoiled Navid terribly, but Navid loved being spoiled, and Cordell loved spoiling, so it all worked out. As long as Navid's tastes didn't stray too far from what Cordell was willing to give him (just about everything) they never ran into any problems.
12345Turning the page in his book, Udell bit back a sigh. He was stuck with his family for the day, while Father went off to his meeting. The little boy was bored, as his other father would panic if Udell went to the laboratory to practice. Cordell really had no understanding of Udell-- though he had tried for a while. Udell simply wanted to work-- though he couldn't do that, apparently...
12345Or maybe he could. Maybe he could... "I'm going to go check on Father's experiment-- if it explodes, he'll be upset," Udell called, rising and pressing the obligatory kiss to Cordell's cheek, not waiting for a response as he went into the lab.
12345Cordell sighed-- he worried about that boy...

12345Songs, songs ringing through the air, dancing through life upon the stage. "...making something out of nothing..." Xannon had finally been able to sing his own songs without having to cringe from the terribly frustrating parodies of his beloved lifeblood. "...to going ma~~d... to loving tension, no pension, to more than one dimension..." This whole world was more than one dimension, a whole where thought and want twisted together to form something new!
12345"...to no absolutes-- to Absolut! To choice! To the Village Voice~... He'd have to keep singing, to be able to stay focused on everything because everything around him was changing...
12345"In a world that's moving too fast-- in a world where nothing can last~" That described Gaia so well, didn't it? Everything faded so quickly, everything forced its way into being before disappearing again...

12345"Darin, I'm afraid I don't understand what you're telling me again," Chris sighed. He wasn't very good at this-- the coon kept going on and on about subjects that Chris had no interest or not enough... well... Chris was a simple wolf. He would admit that much. He didn't know why he was spending time with the coon-- except that Darin didn't seem to want to be alone very much. Well, sometimes he did, but that was entirely different.
12345Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, Darin stopped. "I'm sorry. I think I've just been... frustrated recently, Chris. I do appreciate you taking the time to listen to my rambles." The frustrating thing was that Darin wanted, more than anything, someone who would just... listen, let Darin rant long and hard, even if the other didn't understand. Where was Edward when Darin needed him? The idiot had always shown up before-- then again, Darin had never died before. Perhaps this was the way things worked after death.
12345The wolf sighed when he noticed Darin's expression again. Those slightly glazed eyes meant only one thing-- Darin was thinking again. Chris didn't quite know how to deal with Darin when he was like this, so he did the only thing he could do-- the only thing that had worked in the past. "Tell me more about your 'Kindred' world, Darin," the wolf gently asked.
12345Shaking himself out of his thoughts, Darin complied, although part of his mind still wondered on those he'd left behind-- and why some had shown themselves here and others had not...

12345"You realize, of course, Brother, that this means that we have some changes we need to implement in our plans," Sage sighed, looking out the window. "Things are moving far too quickly for our original plot to actually work."
12345Rae didn't respond for a long time, carefully whittling a tiny figure out of a piece of wood he'd found inside the Nest. Finally, "And?"
12345"Simply commenting," Sage murmured. "I suppose we could move to plan B--"
12345"But your little pet wouldn't like that much, would he?" Rae asked, adding some detail to the tiny figure.
12345"He's not my concern. My concern is that we won't be able to make all the adjustments in time," Sage shook his head. "He can think what he likes-- this is more important."
12345"I'm glad you think so, Brother," Rae smirked slightly. "For a while I thought you'd gone soft, and I'd have to take you out."
12345Sage laughed-- not out of disdain or doubt that Rae could or would kill him, but out of sheer bad humor that Rae would think so little of his brother. "No need to worry about me going soft, Rae. That won't happen." At least, not for a while.

12345One, two, three-- damn. What did these have to do with each other? Draco couldn't figure it out-- he'd never seen such a motley collection of artifacts before, especially not in his father's possession. What the hell was Lucius playing at? It didn't make any sense to the young lamia-- unless he was missing something, which was possible, though not altogether probable.
12345"Still stealing from Daddy-Snakey?" Zaniel crooned as he drifted inside of Draco's room, closing the door behind him. "I thought you'd outgrown that, Draco-dear~" the angel smirked.
12345"Don't call me that!" Draco snarled, glaring at the angel. "I told you to leave me alone!"
12345"Precisely why I've come to see you," the icy angel laughed, flying closer. "You really thought telling me to go away would do anything?"
12345Well, no. But that wasn't the point. "Leave me alone, Zaniel," Draco's glare sharpened into an almost formidable gaze. "I would rather things not get messy--"
12345"Oh, I dare you, little one~" Zaniel smirked. "You seem to be under the mistaken impression that I give a damn what you say-- or that I'm one to be intimidated by your knowledge of your 'Dark Arts'-- which you would never use on me for multiple reasons. I know you too well, Draco-dear. You can't fool me with your idle threats."
12345What Draco hated most about Zaniel were these irritating little games, this play that Draco didn't even fully understand. The lamia just wanted to be left alone so he could complete his plans, but Zaniel wasn't having any of it... he never did.

12345Yamato glared at the fox who'd cornered him again. "What do you want now?" the wolf demanded, biting back a snarl. Past experience had taught the boy that snarling would only intrigue Bryon further, thus prolonging the experience of dealing with the arrogant p***k of a fox.
12345"Exactly what I wanted the last time you asked me that," Bryon smiled. "Information and assistance. It isn't so hard, is it?"
12345"Like hell I'm going to help someone like you."
12345"I think you will. You enjoy living here-- and you've already discovered that there isn't a way around me. We can do this the easy way or the hard way, Yama," the fox smirked, "but I'll win in the end."
12345Perhaps what Yamato hated most about the way Bryon looked at him was that it reminded him so much of how people would always look down on him when he was a kid-- the second place kid. Sure, he'd gotten over that, but still...
12345"Well? Do we have a deal?"

12345Well, well, well. Everything appeared to be following someone else's plans.
12345It was starting to make Tohma rather edgy, though he was careful not to exhibit any signs which might imply such. After all, it was important to keep his image intact, no matter what else was going on.
12345He hadn't imagined that he'd be living in a place like this-- or that he'd find such a delightful creature as Kaine. Kaine's voice surpassed just about anyone else's Tohma had ever heard-- which was making quite an assertion. The fox certainly knew how to sing-- if only he would let Tohma refine that glorious voice...
12345But Tohma had his ways of getting what he wanted, and if Kaine wouldn't agree to formal training, Tohma would simply have to take matters into his own hands and focus on it. Until then, the coon would seek to simply work on breaking down Kaine's barriers, making him more vulnerable so Tohma could shape the boy's talent.
12345Step one would involve getting him away from that unicorn...

12345"Come, have a glass of wine," Lestat smiled at the wolf who sulked across the room, glancing out the window. The angel didn't need to look again to know Roman slowly made his way over to Lestat's side, all the while giving the vampire a look of anger and frustration-- and confusion. Ah, yes, the glorious mixture which created such a spectacle of the wolf. The boy really had no understanding of the way the world worked-- and thus, the reason Lestat was so able to manipulate him.
12345Taking the wine obediently, but not sipping it, Roman took his seat at Lestat's side. The wolf hated himself more and more as time went on, as Lestat took the time to bring Roman closer and closer. But why did Roman allow it? There was more to it than the Blood Bond, there was the direct... association... with that damned radiant figure of the past. Roman didn't know why Lestat reminded him so much of Elias, why that shining golden angel seemed to reek of so many parts that had drawn the wolf to his Sire in the first place, long before the thoughts of vampirism and blood lust ever crossed into their thoughts-- he only knew that Lestat's golden being made him more and more agitated, even as Roman found himself more at ease around the angel. Perhaps it was even because of that easiness...
12345"You're thinking too much again, my dear," Lestat smiled as he sipped his own blood wine. "You really shouldn't strain yourself so much-- thinking about what's going on is only going to make you more upset, you know that already. If you're going to brood, at least do something useful with it-- play me a song or something." The Brat Prince laughed, the sound not so much unkind as uncaring. "Since you seem to dislike doing anything else but let me listen to your music."
12345Biting back a retort to that, Roman moved to remove his precious violin from its case. Yes... the sound of music would calm him, would clear Roman's head of all the ghosts of the past threatening to devour his sanity. The feel of the bow in his hands, the first note leaping out of the delicate instrument as Roman launched into the Devil's Trill... this was where Roman found his solace these days, this trained madness...
12345Roman was upset over more than just the situation again, it seemed. Lestat had been around enough musicians to understand the different nuances in the sound, the way the notes could scream instead of croon-- and the way these crazy instrumentalists used their music to communicate what they themselves couldn't say. Roman's music made Lestat's mind travel back in time to the boy he'd once loved-- the boy he'd killed and then killed again... Ah, Nicki... what would you think if you saw your golden light now...?

(( Hecate wanted me to post something for mother's day.. If you want me to, I'll delete it, sweets. *snug* ))

Hecate's knock on the door to the Nest went unanswered. His heart had been racing. Did he really expect to see Bryon again? No.. it was more like he hoped to see him again. When no one came to the door after several minutes, he tried to push it open and found that it did. He stepped inside, looking around worriedly. "Hello?" he called. "I-I'm sorry for just walking in... No one... answered the door..."

Not seeing any sign of life, he sighed. It was both a blessing and a curse. The young wolf tried to ignore the curse part of it, and went up to Remus's room, with the vase of flowers. He set them on the nightstand with a Happy Mother's Day card that he made himself. He sat down on the bed and looked around slowly.

"Hey Mommy... It's.. been awhile since I last came to visit. I'm sorry.. I wanted to come sooner, but I was too scared. Something happened last time.. I met someone named Bryon... He... Let's just say some bad things happened..." Hecate held his head in his hands. "And.. I'm ashamed to say it.. but I liked it... Please forgive me, Mommy.. I know what I did was bad... But.. Bryon said it might be something I got from you... So maybe you could understand?... If you were here, that is...

"I miss you, Mommy... Everyone does..." He sighed and rolled his eyes. "Severus hasn't been dealing too well. But what else is new? When DOES he deal with things like a sensible person? It's pathetic, really.. It makes me wonder why you agreed to be his mate. I think it's because you felt bad for him.. That it was done out of pity... I can understand.. If it would make him shut up, then why not do it, right? It's so annoying...

"I miss you though... So please come back soon..."

Hecate got to his feet, his ears pressed to his head. "I love you, Mommy."

Severus had fallen asleep against Remus on the way from the shop to the Nest. Thanks to Remus's presence, he was having a dreamless sleep, which was more than he could ask for considering the nightmares he was normally plagued with. He remained limp in Remus's arms, breathing softly and slowly against his chest.

Gently making his way into his room, Remus placed Severus on the bed, gently stroking the wolf's hair away from his face. He had so many things to think about, to take care of-- but for right now... right now he could just stay calm, stay with Severus. For now...

Severus made a noise as he was laid down on the bed. He opened his eyes halfway, tiredly, and looked at the bed he was on, as if wondering how it got there... It smelled like Remus and chocolate... A tired smile came to his lips. Then he seemed to realize that Remus was right there.. Looking up at him, he blinked slowly, then inched back so the other could have room to lay down... Snuggling into the bed, he curled up into a ball and closed his eyes again, asleep in mere seconds.
