Here I am. Of course I'll revise and post - I've been looking at the world information and thinking about it and looking forward to play for a bit more than a week now [only took me this long because I'm also in the middle of a move].
Name: Auri
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Magic?:Feretris Magic - Strong Empathic magic. Dragon Magic - Gold named Iskvaeri [meaning star dancer] Shields / Buffing [somewhat aware of the bond - but the bond is not active].
Appearance: Taking so strongly after her father, Auri seems almost an albino at first glance. Her skin is china white and thin enough to give clear view of the veins laying just under the surface. Her pale golden hair is almost white and fine as soft down though thick on her head. Her eyes are a startling blue clear and pale without being cold. She holds herself away from people, soft and silent as a ghost.
Personality: Normally quiet and reserved she has a wry sense of humor and seems ages beyond her young years. When she speaks it is with a quiet wisdom, but she shys away from physical contact.
History: Auri was born seven and a half months after Cedric escaped. Her mother having been assigned to breed had picked the exotic looking man from another country.
But something went wrong at Auri's birth. And while there were healers present, both those with and without magic, Auri barely survived. Her mother did not.
But more, when Auri was born, she was born with the Feretris magic. Auri inherited from her mother very powerful empathy that was immediately active. Auri's magic was the same as her aunt's but unlike her aunt, Auri couldn't suppress her magic. She able to feel and hear the emotions of those around her, those grieving for her lost mother and hating Auri for her death.
Hurt by the thoughts and emotions of those around her, Auri turned inward. Rarely crying unless she had been ignored to the point of near starvation, Auri was believed to be a crippled child. Pale as she was, and as rare a thing as to be a blond, she was believed to be an albino, as well as mentally deficit.
Auri's aunt, Telnia, however, refused to abandon Auri, the last legacy of her beloved sister. But Telnia couldn't stand the sight of the child, sickly and deformed in her eyes. Telnia was a powerful enough empath to have been taught to suppress her emanations, but as few around her could discern them, she rarely bothered to keep them as quiet as she should. Auri, picking up everything around her, was especially sensitive to her aunt's disgust. Auri soon learned to keep herself hidden away and quiet. She did not bring attention to herself, for always it was accompanied by pity, disgust or hatred.
Auri had learned that she was different as she grew up. Very different. No one else had other's emotions in their head. And no one would understand. And so Auri kept her secret hidden. And to keep her secret, she continued to act as she always had, quiet and withdrawn, flinching away from contact with others.
Most others anyway. For Auri had an insight no other Feretris woman had, she knew the way the male mind worked. And she understood them in a way others couldn't, for she had virtually lived their lives, not only in their emotions and frustrations, but being herself a second class citizen. And so she worked quietly, subtly, to improve their lot in the small compound she lived at with her aunt.
Telnia, ashamed of Auri, kept her hidden and secret. Yes, there were records of her birth, but she hadn't been seen by anyone who left the compound since she was brought there after her year at the birthing place. No one knew of the deformed and retarded girl living on that small farm estate.
And so Auri stayed hidden at the Terrice Estates, both physically and in her own mind.
