King Kento x.Shino.x King Kento FlashbackJon Tableau Ah, I don't think the ice orks make much sence. But you could say it was a genetic mutation of a whole group of spoors because they landed on a planet with a high population of a blue flower that emits some kind of radiation that mutates their genes very consistently. Or something. Seconded. If Orks are going to change color, in needs to deal specifically with their symbiosis to the algae/fungus. Plants don't really change color based on temperature, or even based on environment, really. Depending on the 'brightness' of the blue, you might explain it as phosphorescence developed by spores that mingled with subterranean fungus, or something similar. Alternatively, they might simply come from a world heavy in cobalt, the color which produces most blue pigment. Oooh, i like this, I may have to model a phospherescent ork. maybe a weirdboyXD Glowy Orks! You would be at a disadvantage in night fighting though... -Mihawk Like an ork would care. Theyd be too busy impressing the 'not glowee boyz.'There would be an intimidation factor with seeing glowing orks running up on you in the middle of the night.

Now I have to model this at some point.

I want to get a unit of Diggas!
Diggas are humans who believe in Ork ideals, and who are allowed to join Ork clans in some rare cases. I was thinking about using the Catachan models, and counting them as Slugga boyz.
good idea or bad one?

I have about 30 Diggas lead by a Necromunda Pit Slave Chief. I use them as Grots. 3nodding
Despite hating the Catachan models and not really considering them 'worthy' of slugga boy-ness, I heartily endorse the idea nonetheless. mrgreen

Mind sending me some links to where I can get fluff on this? This sounds like an interesting little thing I could do with some of my boyz.

Continued from the Chatterbox... Angel Kitten-Chan Now, I need a little advice on a good Army for my Orks, So far, I have a Ork Warboss, Slaver and 4 grotz. I might not ever use them, besides the Warboss, but any tips or so for what else I should get? FlashbackJon Two boxes of boyz (at least) are required at this point. Four grots do not a mob make, so pick up about 36 more and field them in two squads of 20. Past that, it's really an open season. Pick up some trukk boyz or pretty much any one of the elite choices. Looted tank, perhaps. Bikes if you're desperate. Incidentally, what color did you decide on?

Laughs a little, "Well thanks for that. Now I got me a Mekboy, but still aint enough, I was thinking of adding in a Kommando Squad before I get me some Boyz. Good investment with a army or not? I don't have a Codex yet, but there is a good reason behind it now, I found out that the new Codex for orks is comming out late 2007, or early 2008 depending on how it works out. I don't wanna make the same mistake I did with my Space marines. On a side note, I got me some Blue orks, ery nice, I'll take some pics of them to show off to the non 'blue' orks most of you have."

You can literally never go wrong with Boyz.
Kommandos may or may not come in handy, but you're (practically) required to have two large mobs (16+) of boyz in any army and no amount of fiddling on GW's part will change that in the new Codex. Even the 'specialty' mobs are filled to the brim with regular boyz - every Troop selection except Grots, in fact - and most of the Elites as well.
Seriously. The first thing you need is two boxes of ladz.

Giggles, "Well, unless they get new box's of Boyz, I'm gonna wait. Thay are supposed to come out soon, and I can get the old box for cheaper than a new box. I'm kinda not working so cash is a little hard to come by, I dont mind spending like $14 warboss and $12 mekboy here and there, since the Kommando's are $25 (on the site) that is pretty good, but at $50 for a box of Boyz, I am going to wait."

FIFTY DOLLARS? Where exactly do you live? You shouldn't be paying more than $28.00 for a box of 16 Boyz. Even GW sells them for only $35.
I don't blame you for looking at the Kommandos, though, they're some nice models - prolly a good indication of the look to come for Ork sculpts. I just hate that they are large chunks of pewter instead of being decently multipart.
