*Luke joins him in the hallway.* *says with quite a bit of sarcasm* Sorry, had to ward off my adoring public....

*Bard smirks* It must be hard being irresistable like that.

*Luke puts his hands up like 'what can you do?'* It hurts to be beautiful. It's a rough life, but it has its perks.

*Bard chuckles* You being a lacrosse player? I would have thought you liked it a little rough.

*Luke shrugs, laughing a little.* Hey, so they tell me, man....*blinks and says* I did take a beating at my last game.

Sounds like my old football days... I was a wide receiver in high school. Wasn't very fast though, always ended up getting nailed from behind. Nothing like being under a pile of sweaty men to remind you what pain is...
*he chuckles a little*
Hey... speaking of being rough... I'm sorry if I was.. you know... a little hard... on you before. I mean... *he glances at Luke* I can tell you're not a kid...

*Luke nods, serious. Bard's right....he's not a kid.*
*But he is grateful for the apology.*
S'alright, man. I mean... I know I can be a pain in the a** sometimes. I just get frustrated with this place.

*Just at the reminder, he starts to get worked up again.* That's the thing about the Brink. You think you're getting a vacation - and really, it's just waiting for the right moment to screw you sideways.

*Luke face becomes grave at that. That's a great question. What does a guy do when they find out they're sleeping with someone who's been dead for 500 years?*
I don't know how she does it. How do you live, knowing that there's ******** madman after your ******** kid? How do you just sit back and go about your day ... and keep coming in the Brink... and just figure that that's the way it goes?
*looks at Bard* I mean, ********, man. How are any of us supposed to? No one should have to live like that.
*Luke thinks. That's why there's laws.... That's why there's courts....*

*Bard pauses mid-step... he looks down*
She's strong... I... I really admire that in her... I really...
*he clears his throat* yes... Miss Dowling's an incredibly strong woman. I'm fortunate to have met her.
*he walks a little faster toward his door, leaving Luke behind*

*He sighs and mumbles sarcastically.* Great... *He turns around to go back into the main room.* Just great...
*Exit Luke to Main Room.*
