Imagine being imobile, being unable to move at all, it's like being incased in cement. That's what a suit of power armour is like in lock down, that's the condition you sleep in while under combat status. There is no leaving of the armour, it is your womb and if need be your grave.

A small light began to flicker upon Gammu's HUD, a blue rune glowing it's digital message that a Charon was coming in. It seemed research and development had a few ideas they wanted field tested, none of that was actually said. Gammu simply infered it from the order that he was to report and turn in his armour.

Coming out of lock down the suit no longer weighed down upon Gammu, he moved as easily as anyone else despite the massive girth and weight of the suit.

And so Gammu moved, slowly at first, but then quicker. His jump system activating he made his way to the position where the hovercraft was landing. Giving a prompt salute he waited for the cargo hatch to open.

When it did a swarm of techs came out and moved with a hivemind like nature, checking the systems and subsystems of the armour. By the time they were done Gammu was naked and waiting, exposed to the elements.

It wasn't even fifteen minuets before he was dragged into the bowels of the craft and the new armour was fitted to his form. The similar body suit pricked him with it's billions of tiny needles that would control the armour, the electronics improved to increase the nerv-suit reaction rate.

The armour itself was relatively unchanged from his earlier, the primary difference was that it possesed thicker armour in the front and the left arm while feeling just as light as usual was much larger. A system of hyrdralics and pistons being incased withen the forearm and fingers to increase it's destructive power beyond that was the suit normal gave.

There was one problem though, the weapon hardpoints that Gammu had used to great effect in the past were gone, he no longer had the 40mm cannon that had been one of his many tools.

Despite this he took pleasure in still possesing the Thermite Molten Cannon. His love of fire would not dappen so easily and they had even modified it so he could carry more of the tanks of thermite.

Sealed up once more Gammu was tossed out of the Charon transport, a cargo egg along with him. Ammo, his riot shield, and a replacement firearm. A gauss carbine with explosive rounds. All and all Gammu was content with the change.

There was a gust of wind at the entrance to the stadium, far from the areas where actual combat took place. Some of the dust from the exposed earth was outside and got stirred up and scattered onto the floor before the tall figure of a man stepped through the stone archway, into the place designed for battle

Tall brown travelling shoes came to a rest just inside the entrance. Red pants came from them to a white belt that had a gold-coloured buckle. His upper torso was protected by a sheet of chainmail which also ran down his arms about half the way to his elbows. The mail could not be seen by the naked eye, though. Over it was not only a white shirt of normal cloth but on top of that, over his chest and back, where two pieces of white armor plating that fit to his form with moderate thickness. They almost seemed to shine in the light. The man's lower arms were equipped with protective gauntlets of the same material as his armour. A longsword in a white white silver patterns sheath dangled from his left side, tied to his belt.

The man's face was an oddity of sorts. Slightly messy but short blond hair covered the top of it normally, but below that was mostly unseen. A red scarf with two long tails that trailed to half way past teh back of his knees once they had settled from their owner's lack of movement was wrapped around his face. The scarlet cloth came up over his nose at the center of his face, leaving very little flesh exposed; Just enough for two amber-colored eyes that sparkled with a look of curiosity to be made out. A black scar could be seen running up a little from under his scarf, from the right side of his nose to stopping just above it.

Slowly his head turned, taking in the sights, before he started making his way into the new location.

'I wonder why it led me here?' he wondered quietly in his mind, referencing the earlier gust of wind which had died down while his amber orbs had soaked in the scenery around him.

High above, a majestic eagle circles, flying about for whatever reasons eagles have. Contentedly, the bird begins to circle lower and gradually lose altitude.

A barely perceptible sound causes the bird's animal instincts to react. The eagle's neck cranes suddenly back as it's wings flurry forward in a hurry to stop, and change directly. With eagle-like perception, the eyes settle on an object above it, growing in size. Growing greatly in size, very rapidly. If the bird could talk, it probably would have said "Oh shi--"

Whack

From near orbit, a large shapely box rocketted for the surface. Wind screamed as the solely black pod tore through the air heading straight for a great stadium. ((I do hope this is an uncovered stadium.))

Coffin-like, this pod had a date with the ground that nothing was going to stop. An entry that was far from subtle, any fool with a neck could have looked up to catch a glance of the black blur. Just before it hit the ground, anyway.

With a crash, the great pod would land at the feet of a man wearing a long red scarf. Displacing much sand in a storm and digging a shallow crater, landing quite squarely to face him. Though black, the details of seams could easily be shown. To detail a rectangular cut iin the face of the pod which now stood jutting from the sand before him. It could have even been a door.

It was time. Julius uncleanched his fist, allowing the tentacles trapping Jean to be moved...

Jean, now free, would run to the nearest water fountain and would bathe in it. The wetness undid the damage from the explosion, allowing him to move his face again. "Ugh...DAMN YOU JULIUS!!" His armor would reappear on him, and the daggertail would be cleansed. He would frantically look around for Julius, waiting to punish him...

Eldin walked curiously past the entrance and the hallways out into a large stadium area. The earth was coated in sand over the rocks his boots pressed down on as he looked from side to side. A small thermal of air was swirling in a position near the center, where a sword pattern could be made out by his two eyes.

Used to following the wind, Eldin approached it confidently then stopped just before getting too close. Ther thermal slowly ended and the swirling sand fell lazily back to the ground.

Eldin's eyes, being the only part of his face with the ability to show unhidden emotion, glowed with a short sweep of disappointment before his head tilted a little to the left.

"Now what?" he asked what would appear to anyone else to be thin air.

Eldin's eyes looked to the side, then his head tilted up and his pupils focused on the sky above. It was an action that suggested some unseen being had told him to look up.

He quickly wished he had been told this sooner.

"Oh shi--"

Whack

Eldin flew backwards violently from the impact that occured in front of him, much sand following him and spreading out in other directions from the projectile's wake, and landed painfully on his behind before rolling several times across the harsh sand-covered rocks. In time, tightly closed eyes would open slowly to gaze upon the strange object before him.

'What in the name of the Creator is that?' he pondered inaudibly as he stood, happy to have an article of clothing which was good at preventing him from literally having to eat dirt. After pushing himself back to slightly shakey feet he took many cautious steps forward. A gauntlet-equipped hand reached out with bare fingers and palm to test the texture of the gift from above. Its black exterior was daunting as it portruded from its crater, the seams forming a look that made Eldin think his hand should be searching for a handle or something.

'I guess this is why Unc brought me here... Whatever it is.'

Caution: this door opens outwards

Inside, Gamma lay in wait.. Suspended in the now thinning shock goo, as he so called it. With a neckbreaking smash against the ground, the shear liquid was the only thing keeping Gamma from turning into goo, himself.

Pressed against the back of the pod, shoulders squared, Gamma placed one large boot against the inner side of the hatch. A slight thump of the boot against the hatch resounded through the liquid. From the outside, it could have been a quiet knock.

Then the thundering boom of Gamma's right boot to disengage the hatch from it's seals. The tall door would erupt violently from the top down in a spray a clear liquid, just as in slammed into the ground, and anyone below it. Swinging like much of a primate, the massive heft of Gamma would pivot from his hands along the top edge of the hatch's seal.

Kick-swinging out of the pod to land on the sand beyond the fallen door. Glistening black ceramic, still dripping the the shock fluid. His enormous frame nearing 7' vertical, this monstrosity was completely black save for it's single red cycloptic eye, moutned squarely over a large set of metal jaws. Tipped with two jagged tusks, the jaws seemed to smile.

'Ow...'

Having heard a small knock from the inside of the pod, Eldin turned his head to the side and placed his ear against it.

"Hello?"

Which was how he now found himself lying on his back with a black metal door lying on top of him.

Groaning, the human pushed the object up and off to his left as he sat up. He had heard something land behind him while he had been lying down. Rubbing the back of his head with his left hand, Eldin turned his amber gaze behind him to see a black seven-foot-tall...thing standing with its back to him.

Eyes widing a little from curiosity, Eldin pulled himself to his feet and faced the being.

"Hello?" he said in a friendly but curious tone.

"Huh?"

Gamma turned as he spoke, causing the jaws to mimic the words with rapid movements and flashes of metal teeth.
"Who're you supposed to be?" Gamma queried, failing to notice that he had just laid flat some bystander. Each word was spoekn twice, once by a tinny human voice which seemed to escape from some point on the armor, and again immediately following the human voice by a computerized synthesizer program. Making an echo which sounded like some old, outdated, speech computer.

As he shook his hands to free himself of the dripping liquid, one could take note of the large sidearm strapped to his left thigh. A massive, oversized pistol which sat clipped into a holster. Even more, a pair of knives strapped into a vertical downdraw position on Gamma's left shoulder.

Eldin smiled beneath his scarf though it could only be seen in his eyes.

"The name's Eldin Desura. I'm just a traveller."

He opened his eyes once more with a look of concern.

"I'm glad you're all right. That was a nasty fall you were in."

Eldin casually rested his hands on his hips, not wating to judge this new character just because of his formidable appearance.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 17, 2006 5:58 pm

"I've had worse. You always try and catch things that fall out of the air like that?"

"This is the arena, isn't it?" He asked, not giving Eldin a chance to answer the first question.
Gamma looked around, taking in the surroundings. Yeah, it was a stadium. Stadiums around these parts were always good for random acts of violence, people generally complied pretty well, too.

At each of the cardinal directions a single man stood upon the wall that dropped so far below to the arena. They each looked as an old man, eyes closed and hunched over, leaning upon a cane. Each cane was the same, a simple black shaft with a ruby set at the top. Spaced equidistantly between each of these men around the stadium were four men with grave faces, one without a single feature shown as a mask of ruby concealed all. The two men in the south, both north and west, looked similar, tall with grey skin covered in scars. The northeast had the man with the mask, long silver and crimson dreads dancing upon a nonexistant wind behind him. At the northwest was a man with dirty grey hair dressed all in black with an orb floating about him with a crystalline surface.

So the men Nearby a large pod of sorts seemed to have crashed, but Mindblaze was not worried, his focus was elsewhere. He had a score to settle, a man to consume so that his most recent Exile could have her fun. Mindblaze did not accept failure, but defeat was something far worse than death. This...Cziri, had incurred the wrath of a being far beyond the grasp of his wildest dreams.

"Wel--"

Eldin had raised his right hand in the air as he began to respond to the first question, but was quickly cut off.

After blinking in slight surprise and joining the one with both a human and a computerized voice in a quick look around, Eldin agreed.

"Well I just got here and don't know for sure either, but that's the impression I got from it as well."

Eldin returned his hand to his side, letting it dangle there while his left remained on his hip. He was glad he didn't judge by appearances. This fellow didn't seem to have a dangerous personality. A little rude, maybe...
