Daren blushed at the light touch to his torso and shoulder, glad that Tim couldn't see. he kept his chin on the other's forehead just to be sure. "i'll see what i can do. i'm not just a police officer, though. i'm a detective, we make more than regular officers. i have other sources of income other than that, i'm good at investing my money smartly. i could retire right now and live comfortably for the rest of my life on my earnings through the stock market." he stroked Tim's back, still feeling the tingle of the other's hand on his chest. "but if you like work then i won't stop you from going back. i just wanted you to know that you don't have, you have the option to not work if you don't want to." he closed his eyes, "maybe the two of us should have a spa day. and before you tease me about being girly, it's something that is promoted by Iroh at the station. it really is relaxing and helps a lot more than you'd think. we'll get fully body massages and soak in the spas. i bet you'd like that. we could even get our feet and hands worked on, have our hair done, the works."

Daren laughed, "what about this mop of hair? can't hardly see your eyes, it's so long! need to get that trimmed up, don't we?" he ruffled his hand through Tim's hair, messing it up so it stuck straight up in places. "trust me, you'll be amazed how much better you feel when you walk out of the spa. i'm serious." his blush was gone so her pulled back, looking down at James with a grin, "we can even go buy new outfits and go to a fancy dinner afterwards since we'll be all done up. let's do this friday, the day before the party so you look your best for your friends, deal?"

"you can choose to have it cut or not, don't let what you think i want influence your decision, ok?" he liked Tim's hair, it was soft and a good length but it was just a bit scruffy and in need of a trim thanks to the time he'd spent in that basement. "i won't, i promise. i'll make sure the two of us are in the same room the entire time." Givens was still out there, he wasn't letting Tim out of his sight until that man was caught. if these nightmares continued, Tim might just have to start spending his nights in here with Daren and he was more than fine with that. it meant he could keep a closer eye on the man after all.

Daren stiffened at the kiss, not sure what Tim was doing. when it quickly ended and Tim called his name with such confusion, he had to pull away a bit. "what was that?" he asked, frowning as he pushed himself up onto an arm so he could look at Tim better. "why did you kiss me? there was no need to, nothing leading up to it." his body had liked the kiss, the main reason he'd pulled away. he didn't want Tim to feel that and it wouldn't take long for him to calm back down. it's not like it was a full blown snog, he'd just woken a little bit. "Tim, why did you kiss me?"

"Tim, wait." Daren slipped his arm around the other's waist and pulled him back, Tim's back against his chest, "it's ok. you just surprised me is all. you don't have to kiss me to say thank you, Tim. really, it's ok. you can just say a regular thank you and i'll be as happy as a lark." but he knew Tim would be blaming himself, thinking he did something horrible. "i didn't minds, Tim. was just a bit surprised, most people don't kiss someone to say thank you. maybe if they were in a relationship they would, but not normal friends."

Daren stroked Tim's arm, "it's ok. really it is. it was nice, just unexpected. from now only only kiss someone you love, ok? you don't have to kiss people out of thanks anymore, you can just kiss them because you want to. sound good?" he pulled Tim closer and snuggled back into the covers, "let's get a little more sleep. we've had long days lately, we earned a chance to sleep in. agreed?" he closed his eyes, knowing he'd fall asleep as soon as Tim relaxed and fell asleep himself

Daren's eyes popped open, startled by the question, "you what?" he asked, looking at Tim with surprise. "i-um, well..." did he dare allow that? if Tim asked that meant he could say no at anytime which made it alright....right? "sure, if that makes you happy. ask first and if i say it's ok then you can kiss me. but if i say no that doesn't mean i don't like you or anything like that. it just means that i don't feel like it's a good time to kiss or i don't feel like kissing. make sense?"

Daren flushed at the question, but he'd known it was coming. Tim had already kissed him once and not that long ago, but the other was asking so shyly, so hopefully. "Al-Alright. if you want. i mean, if that's what would make you happy. i don't mind if we-if we kiss." it didn't mean anything. just a touch of lips, a thank you. he firmly told his body to calm down as he smiled at Tim, "it's really ok."
