"Why ya brainless lil' nit!" The man Vanni has struck cursed, grabbing at the section Vanni had struck a moment before turning around, his short cropped teal hair swaying slightly as he turned to face her, the last to get an eyeful of the girl. A deep scowl formed on his face, a Pokeball appearing in his hand along with those of his companions. The next moment there were at least half a dozen flashes of light, the flapping of wings and a stench that could peel paint appearing in the air as Zubat and Stunky arrived on to the field of battle. The man closest to Vanni would state a single word through gritted teeth "Run" It would appear she was in luck, or the man just wished to run her over that badly.

It all hit Vanni like a sack of particularly venomous hammers. The pit of her stomach dropped, leaving an icy concern in her chest. Dimly, she could hear her other self shouting to run run run run RUN RUNShe was in entirely over her head... perhaps she should have listen to her aunt's fears about joining the Academy. But resignation could be turned in later, Pokemon given to appropriate homes when this was over. Green eyes wide, Vanni turned on her heel and bolted towards the tower. "Makoto!" she all but shouted, drawing the Tyrogue to her side. Even if she would fail, she'd attempt to complete what she'd set out to do.
The name of the game is run like the dickens. Each post you will Roll 1D20. Every time I roll above you one of the trainer's will catch up to you, at which point you can either decide to do battle or keep trying to run while dodging their attacks. If you battle keep in mind that for every turn the battle takes another trainer will arrive. Running speed will be decided by your roll plus Vanni's "spd" which will be decided by a Post Action: Random Number between 1 and 5. If she has a Pokemon large enough to ride their speed will be used instead. Alternatively if she has a Pokemon which is strong enough, they can carry her instead. (Strength will involve their Weight + ATK relative to the weight of Vanni.). Rolls of 1 are a Dead End and Rolls of 20 are a shortcut. Roll a 7 or 13 and get a shocking surprise!
After 5 posts you'll need to roll to determine if you went the wrong or right way. It will take 10 posts without getting lost to reach the end.
The moment the girl took off the humans and Pokemon behind her would be off, nipping at her heels every step of the way. One would think the Zubat would be able to catch up to her gifted as they were with flight, but the ambient static seemed to be messing with them on some level. Either way the facts remained the same, Vanni needed to run and quickly!

Vanni only had the presence of mind to recall Makoto as she ran. For the most part, she was focused on speed, her cane cracking against the ground as she took off in what she hoped was the right direction. She was smaller than most of these men, and even some of their Pokemon, but she had to try!

[SHORTCUT! VANNI ADVANCES 2 INSTEAD OF 1 FOR THIS POST!]
As luck would have it the child would find the journey surprisingly easy going, her diminutive stature allowing her to easily duck under overhangs and pass through cramped spaces which slowed her pursuers considerably. She was off to a good start, and Arceus providing she could keep up the momentum!

Vanni could hardly think as the blood pound in her ears like a particularly persistent drumbeat. She ducked, barely missing cracking her head against the overhang, and kept running, refusing to think of the men in pursuit.

Although many of them had to scatter in order to get passed, the grunts would manage to keep the girl in sight, chasing after her now with most of the Pokemon in the front. They didn't have the same issue with tight spaces after all!

Vanni had never been particularly athletic; even when she was young a less sheltered, she was more of a swimmer than a runner. Still, there was no reason not to start now! This kind of run could be considered a crash course! Her shoulder slammed against the wall as she forced herself to keep going.

In spite of the fact they were beginning to lag behind a girl less than half their age the Grunts continued to charge forward, many of them already beginning to pant as they followed after.

Vanni'a foot caught on an exposed pipe, and she nearly tripped, but quickly managed to catch herself. She refused to let her momentum be halted, and with her cane tucked under her arm, forced herself to keep running.

As luck would have it Vanni had managed to stay well on track, the central tower now poking up midst the other buildings. She was already halfway there, but could she keep it up? For that matter could the men pursuing her? My they seemed out of shape! But with each passing moment the girl slowed they were catching up!

Vanni spared a glance for the tall tower in the center. Had she been able to think properly, she no doubt would have been happy. But right now, the panic took root in her mind, and she dedicated herself solely to running in the right direction. She wasn't out of the woods yet.

Vanni could feel her knees beginning to ache, and she had to force her breathing to come in controlled, short bursts. She wasn't a runner, she wasn't a fighter, she wasn't much of anything!... but she had to keep going. It's what they had asked of her.
