I smile at Laci's explanation of brothers and sisters.
"I had two little sisters...and...I accidentally called you Lilly, my youngest sister." I smile widely at Tellat.
"Lilly was only...four...and Breanna...was...twelve..." I say in a slowly saddening tone, my smile slightly dimming, but then I smile again, "...and you...you seem an awful lot like a sister. I feel the need to guard you and keep you safe from any more cruel people...especially men, from taking advantage of you. I know a bad man when I see one, and sadly...my father...and my stepfather were bad men, and my little brother was likely to follow in his father's wayward footsteps. You, Tellat, have lovely room to grow and explore and I want to help you the best I can."
I gently run my finger along Tellat's cheek with an immeasurable tenderness, then I cross my arms as I stand in front of Laci and Tellat.
"Selphie is probably the other most sister-like person I've met...always teasing and being mischievous with me," I say with a chuckle, "and Shi'ita is like a little brother to me...if I had such a sweet brother as he is. As for all the rest of you girls..." I say to Laci, but then my smile disappears and my face seems flushed with embarassment.
What are the rest of these girls to me? How do I know what a romantic love is and which one I feel it for if it seems to be with all of them? Laci...she's so caring and adorable and makes me want to smile nonstop. Jasmine...oh Jasmine...is so breathtakingly beautiful and pulls me through some daring situations, but...but she seems to really care for me and everyone else. She makes my heart stutter and my words tangle up. And Desta...is amazing. Her nearly irresistable sleek feline form pulls not only on my human heartstrings, but my feline attraction as well. Those eyes full of a history of pain, yet care so deeply and love so tenderly...but...she doesn't seem to care for me as much as I care for her. Does she already love Shi'ita? It makes my heart almost upset and disturbed, as though I want her heart with mine and no one else's. But...who truly feels for me? Who do I truly feel for?
I nervously cross and uncross my arms as I struggle with my romantic feelings, and I look at each and every girl (except Selphie) with a tender romantic gaze that seems to already indicate that I'm hopelessly in love with them.
"Who...who do I...feel for? Who...feels for...me?" I involuntarily mutter to myself, my eyebrows now curving in distress.
I've never had to deal with such feelings for a girl before...not like this! And...and why is my heart torn between so many? What do I do?! I anxiously wonder, now beginning to make nervous paces and whenever I look at Desta, I have a face of jealousy for Shi'ita and wistfulness for Desta.

I pause in my steps and look at Laci with an incredibly excited, almost disbelieving expression.
"R...really? Th...thank you!" I say gratefully and hug both Tellat and Laci tightly, but especially Laci as her comments made me smile exceedingly.
I pull back, but then my smile slightly droops as I say, "I love you, too, but...in...in what way do you...um...love...me?" I ask nervously. I would be thrilled if she loved me romantically as well, but at the same time...I'm not sure what to do about my feelings for the other girls...

"Oh! You're like family to me! The two of us-" I say to Nero, but cut off with the little exchange between him and Laci.
... took care of Tellat in our ordeal..." I continue on in a more crestfallen voice. However, I perk myself up a bit and let out a laugh.
"Seems like you've got quite the harem, eh?" I say jokingly.

I stand up on my hindlegs and place one hand on Shi'ita's shoulder and the other on his cheek, gently guiding his face so he could look in my eyes. "Hey... Batboy..." I speak softly and in a reassuring tone with concern in my eyes. "I know you've lost a lot... I have too... But you know what? I'm gonna try my absolute hardest to stick beside you. And you need to just enjoy all the time we have together rather than worry about a time when we might separate... You understand, Batboy?" I had run my hand from his cheek to below his chin to ensure he looked at me.

Jasmine:
Zazigh sighs and hands you a 10X coin.
"At least it's for a good cause..." he mutters.

Laci:
Tellat nods.
"I think I get it," she says.

Nero:
Tellat looks at you, but seems to be thinking about your words more than actually looking at your face.

Laci:
Tellat smiles as you nuzzle her.

Nero:
Tellat yips in surprise as you hug her.

Jasmine:
"What's a...harem?" Tellat asks, still in Nero's embrace.

Shi'ita looks at Desta as he listens to her words before his eyes widen a little, before he leans a bit, placing his head on her shoulder. He then wraps his arms around her, the key ring making a little noise. "I'll...try..." he says, small tears forming in his eyes.

I blink in embarassment at the reference of a harem and look at Selphie with a sheepish smile, a warm feeling spreading throughout my chest. I then walk around with my arms crossed and my head somewhat lowered again, pacing around as the food transaction is being made. I temporarily freeze my gaze on Shi'ita and Desta. A gentle smile begins to form on my face at the tenderness of the scene, but then other feelings sneak in and my smile descends to a subtle sullen frown again.
She's one of the only other cats...but so what? She's so sweet...and pretty...but...should I just give up on my feelings for her? Has she chosen Shi'ita, or is he more of a brother? Oh God...why does my heart hurt so? What a petty feeling...
My eyes return to Selphie's joking gaze and the warm feeling returns again.
Oh no...you're going to decide to like HER now, wavering heart? I turn my gaze to Jasmine and watch her make the transaction, and I can't look at her long before my heart keeps insisting it loves her, too. I look back at Tellat and Laci with a nervous smile, and that feeling erupts again.
Please do not confuse me, soul. Which is brotherly love and where does it turn into a lover's love? I think specifically upon looking at Tellat, and looking at Laci again, the fluttery feeling returns and feel like I'm in an unending vortex of confusion and indecision.
"I'll just...be alone...I don't know...I don't know who..." I softly muse to myself with a softening voice, now going in my strange little circling again, and then I simply sit down and hug my knees, my eyes barely visible above my knees and mostly hidden by my draping mane bangs. My eyes are flitting about, and then they refuse to look at any of the girls again and only at the townspeople...or my legs...
