((finished dinner)) "You're very welcome." Lillian said with a strained smile. She lay back down and look deep breaths for a moment. "So how is everyone? No one was badly hurt, were they? Is Callysto safe? Kenneth?" She was pleading for information. It had been so long since she'd been outside these walls, and she felt disconnected from the rest of the school.

 Catalina rose from the ground at took a seat on a hard wooden stool conveniently located at the headmistress's bedside.
Settling down, she said hoarsely, "Todos son seguros I heard. Though some students were a bit roughed up, there were no serious injuries." Catalina attempted to toss her hair about as usual, but became acutely aware of how messy it was. She must look terrible.

Lillian winced as Catalina tossed her hair, it was habit. Whenever someone raised their hand, she was scared they might hit her.
"I'm sorry for not being strong enough." She whispered. "I should've fought it better..." She moved a little and clutched at her side with a small chuckle of laughter. "You have gorgeous hair..." She said slowly as she saw it fly about. She looked at her own. It was almost to her knees, brown messy ringlets. There were still small dark stains in some parts, she knew it was blood. The very bottom, the last centimeter or so looked like it would crumble to ashes at the touch. She supposed all the torture curses and things had done this. It was frizzy and even puffier than usual and very tangled. It looked disgusting compared with Catalina's raven hair. Her's was messier than usual, but in Lillian's eyes, it was the prettiest hair she'd seen.

Quietly, Catalina said, "I think you are the strongest of us all." It was so true. Lesser wizards had gone insane with so much torture. Granted, her mental state was shaky at best, but she was recovering. The spells' damage would not be permanent.
Annoyed by her tangled hair, Catalina glanced at Lillian's frayed mass of frizz. The ends were dead and fragile. "Would you like me to take care of that?" she asked gently.

A couple tears strolled down her face and stopped, dripping at her chin past her watery smile. Catalina was so kind...
"Would you?" She asked quietly but eager to get rid of them.
"Just the dead parts, just the very ends..." She said staring at the dead-looking bottoms of her hair. She knew a couple of aurors, (the longbottoms) who had their hair turn white from going insane. At least hers was strong and still the same color.
She tried to untangle the bottom for a moment, so the cut would be nice and clean, but it was nearly impossible. "Should we wash it first?" She asked with wide and innocent eyes.

"Si," Catalina said in agreement. She drew her wand from her sleeve and pointed it at the headmistress' scalp. "Lava," she whispered, and instantly Lillian's long hair became wet and thick with soap suds, leaving the Hospital Wing to smell faintly of cherries and almonds.
Waving her wand, Catalina willed the lather to disappear. The headmistress' locks were still wet, but black in color. Aiming at the dry inch of the ends of her hair, Catalina called, "Diffindo!" The short curls instantly fell onto the bed in a pile.
Catalina cast a final spell, Seca, which left Lillian's hair dry to the touch. "Quizas you would like it pinned back?" she asked sweetly.

Lillian gave a tiny squeal as each spell was cast, still worried about curses. When her hair was done though, she grinned. The bloodstains were gone from the hair. It was now back to the natural, normal soft ringlets. Only the very ends were gone, so it was still about the same length, to her knees. She held her soft hair and put it up to her cheek. She still woke up sweating most mornings, and her hair had suffered for it. but now it was the same as it had been before Desdemona had interfered. "Thank you. So much. No I'll leave it down." She said this all slowly, rubbing her hair and running her fingers through the wide ringlets. She closed her eyes and gave a wide smile.

Catalina smiled. The headmistress looked almost the same as she had a few weeks prior. "Your hair is beautiful as well," she said, gazing enviously at Lillian's curls.
"Is there anything else you would like?" Catalina asked. It must be difficult when one cannot get around easily.

Lillian giggled as she touched and stroked her hair. Her eyes were slightly crossed and her mouth gaping just a bit. She gazed up at Catalina and said; "Nope! Haha Thank you so muchhherrrs..." She was a little too happy, but she was hardly aware of how much she was laughing.

Catalina ignored the headmistress's odd behavior. It would pass, verdad? She stood, and turned to face Lillian. Catalina curtsied deep, and said, eyes watering, "Thank you so much." With that, she left the Hospital Wing.

Lillian stopped giggling when she saw Catalina's watering eyes.
"DON'T cry Catalina!" She shouted as Catalina left the hospital wing. She knew Catalina was already gone, but she hoped she had heard her.

Catalina had done so much for Lillian, and Lillian couldn't have even protected her in the office. She felt guilty, but promised herself she'd repay Catalina one day. She'd repay everyone. She stroked her ringlets once more before collpasing on her pillows and falling asleep.
((I added this a bit later to keep you updated))
She was having less nightmares, not 6 a night now, perhaps just 3. She was eating somewhat regularly, at least she didn't vomit as badly when she ate. She still coughed up blood, but not bowl-fulls of blood like she did with Alex. Perhaps just handfuls. She knew she wasn't as crazy now, though her laughter still did spiral out of control whenever something special happened. Something rare. She was a bit worried to bathe or change. She was so happy from just her hair being cut and cleaned, if she was now living in a nice enviornment- imagine how happy she'd be...she'd wait for that. Maybe she'd even have a wheelchair soon...her legs were still weak and bent, but less. Her sides were the most painful, her inner organs being the hardest to mend and where the dark magic had penetrated. She at least weighed more though. Before this happened, she was 5 pounds underweight, she was skinny in general. About 105 pounds or so. (I'm short XD )) Now, rather than weighing 75-80, she at least weighed in her 85-90 range. And she did always drink her water. She was on the mend. She would recover. And as she did, the want and passion to die also lessened. Perhaps soon, it would vanish.

Callysto had finally emerged from her drunken slum to visit Lillian in the infirmary. She hadn't slept in nearly a month, her pale face looking sickly and sunken-in, with dark circles under her eyes. She slithered into the room, quietly and quickly moving next to her loves bedside. "Oh, Lillian. Why did this happen to you?"

Lillian was shocked. This wasn't a dream, was it? Had she really gone this crazy? "I-I-I...I guess I'm just too...weak..." She stammered. "But Catalina says I'm strong. Since I was tortured for over a week for hours and didn't go mad." She was talking faster now, trying to say everything she wanted to. "C-callysto I've missed you so much. So much." She stretched out her arms and tears rolled down her face. She tried to stand up, to get off the bed and hug Callysto, but she felt as if needles were jabbing into her legs.

Callysto felt her heart shatter again when she saw Lillian attempt to stand, but her face clouded in pain before she could do it. She put her hand to Lillians chest, she could feel her heartbeat."Lay back down, Lo--" She caught herself before she said "love." She had left Lillian, and then this happened. She didn't deserve her. She was a monster for letting this happen to her. "I missed you Lillian. More than I have a right to say, for leaving you like that. And-- and then this. I truly am a monster. "
