"A vampire is attempting to commit genocide, and is amassing some sort of rag-tag army to start a war, and now he seems to be making something to win it." Farskon snapped at him just as quickly.
He looked behind him to see a Soulless dressed fancily stroll towards the group. It opened it's mouth, and talked in vaswedes voice."Yes well now that everyone has arrived I would like you all to follow me, to see your friend of course."

"Oh, no, I meant someone else...Usually when a weapon is pointed at me they work for the genocidal vampire," Scribbler offered lamely.
Her grasp on the paintbrush did not waver, tempted as she was to strike down the Soulless then and there. But the being had information about Emma.

"Hmm. I see." the templar lowered his weapon, though he kept a close eye on the group. Erik didn't trust people very quickly, but this lot seemed to know a bit more about this blight than he.
The appearance of the soulless gave Erik a chill. The very idea of a living human body being used as a puppet sickened him.
"And who might you be?" he asked the force that hid behind the soulless like a coward.

The Soulless waited, and his star shot daggers at Farskon, the Paladin glared back.
"I am no one important," He replied to the Templar, and then said."Now come with me my good friends."
As the Soulless lead them into the manor, they noticed the inside was not of a manor, but a large white room with what looked like built in hot tubs, but they were small and built into the building.
"Allow me to show you, the Arcane Council's most pointless experiment, the time simulator." The Soulless announced dramatically with the Finnish accent of the vampire."But tweeked a little it is not as useless; though your friend here is powering it for me." It pointed to Emma unclothed, and inside the one of the tubs glowing.
"To wake her up you will need to finish the simulation," it started."Better decide quick, if you pull her out she will die, and if you continue to let this place suck out hr energy for power..."

Erik stayed at the back of the group. He eyed the elven Enchantress lying in the tube. If the templar was on his own, he would have wrenched the elf from the tube and ended her life and the power source to whatever this unholy place was. Death would have been an act of mercy the way he saw it.
However, it seemed that he would have to settle for whatever the group decided.

"Ah well there is a compromise we can reach he continued," And motioned to a large basket that materialized. And then, a pipe system appeared.
"Those fluids we took from you dear Paladin, is was what will power this place," It said with a grin."Sadly, I must have you put power in it, or else the fluids are inert."
"No," Farskon replied.
"Poor Enchantress stuck there until death claims her." It mused with false sympathy.
The Paladin hated listening to him, but he put his hands on the pipe system and allowed energy into it. The Soulless clapped, and materialized the fluids in the now closing pipes.
"Your friend is safe, but waking her up shall destroy her too," It said unconcerned."If you want to save her looks like you'll have to go in after her."
"Oh, and all clothing, and equipment must be taken off before you can enter the simulation."It patted the large basket.
The Soulless slit it's own throat with a grin, and fell.
Farskon trembled with pure anger, he knew if they entered the simulation they'd be doing the vampires bidding again. But what choice did they have? Leave Emma slumbering here for eternity?

The templar drew his chainblade and revved it.
"Are you all really going to bend to that abomination's will? I say we do the merciful thing and end her life and this infernal technology of his. What if there is no escape from whatever sadistic world he has created? It's obviously a trap!" the templar said, a small undertone of anger in his voice.

"Don't you think I know that?" Farskon replied, and sighed."But even if we do kill her, which also crossed my mind sadly; we'll be screwed over."
"I bet you right now, that there's no way out of this place now," He muttered annoyed."It was a one way portal if you hadn't noticed."

Scribbler, on the other hand, was doing something completely unexpected.
The small particles in the fluid holding Emma's body was slowly but surely coalescing into a small dark spot, spurred on by the inkmancer's efforts. If she could somehow manage enough, she hoped to make a doppleganger of the enchantress and infuse it with enough energy to replace Emma with it.
The thing was...there wasn't very much solid suspended material in the tub.
"It's been trap after trap since we arrived here, Templar. We're still alive, aren't we?"
[...I could go on a rant about how inks are organometallic complexes and complex hydrocarbons but I'll spare you for the sake of the plot. XD; I know what you mean. I just like to argue semantics sometimes is all. ^^;]

The ink was rejected, and it faded to nothing. This thing ran on Silver Blood, it would now only accept organic material.
[[Well then we'll put it this way, Ink does not have a soul, and it's not organic organic. If you catch my drift. xd ]]

"A dwarven berserker once said the same thing to me in an underground temple ruin. A few minutes later, a large pendulum cleaved him in two." the templar replied.
"All I'm saying is that we shouldn't really jump into things. I only just got here, after all."

"Meh, the only actual actions, are rash actions. Besides we're damned if we do, and damned if we don't." He muttered, and added to the happy speech."Basically we're not jumping into things, we're being pushed into things."

"Well, then it's a good thing I'm neither dwarven nor berserker, isn't it?" Scribbler retorted, setting aside her brush and sketchbook. She reached into her belt where the ink bottles were kept, and with a grimace, knocked one back. The rest was splashed onto herself, seeping into the skin and rendered invisible under the layers of melanocytes.
"It's not like we have a choice," she continued with a forced grin. Like hell was she going in unprepared, though.
"If they push hard enough, we'll just have to push back harder."
The jacket was tossed into the basket and the inkmancer turned away, letting her wings cover her from sight.

Erik glared as Scribbler prepared to enter whatever simulation Vaswedes had planned for them. The templar wasn't a big fan of technology or magic, and he was hesitant to remove his armor to enter into the simulation. Erik looked at Farskon, then at Hrothbert and then at Emma lying in the glass tube.
"Fine, if we're going to to do this, then let me at least warn you that I have no intention saving any of you if we find ourselves in dire straits. May God have mercy on your souls."

"And may He watch over you, then, if we find ourselves in such a state."
The ink was now safely in her bloodstream, ready to be called upon if needed. Scribbler refused to be defenseless. "See you on the other side."
She stepped through the gates, shivering from both the slight chill and anticipation.
