Aran watched as Large slowly crept into the cellar, STILL holding Amara Dammit, I dare him to come back and fight us like a man next time! His attention turned to Alihi, the mother of the young hostage. Aran wanted to throw the javelin, but Alihi overruled it. "Understood, Alihi." He said in a casual tone as he lowered his javelin next to his side.

Dang it we can't stop him...we can't sneak around him, so...dang it. Lowering his bow, he only said, "All right."

Large pressed his back lightly against The Door, then glanced up at Alihi. Slowly, the portal behind him swung open, revealing blackish-greenish-reddish-whitish eye-raping nothingness beyond. The little swordmaster swung his blade out of the way and shoved Amara forward suddenly, then dropped back through the Door.

It slammed shut behind him. Asami had the book.

Amara stumbled, falling to her hands and knees. Alihi immediately ran down the stairs and wrapped Amara in a hug, the young girl returning the hug.
"Amara... Oh, Amara..."

The two began to cry in the now-dark basement.

"Dang it...should we have been faster, we may have been able to have stopped him...this is our fault for not noticing. Though what was that about a book?"

(Rei, if you check a few posts earlier, Large clearly says something about a book.)

As soon as Amara was thrown back, Ephraim dived for the door in hopes of following but his efforts failed. It closed and he landed against the door, out of anger, slammed his fist against it.

"This...This was my fault..mine! If I had noticed him sooner I could have attacked him and Amara wouldn't have gotten into that situation!" Ephraim exclaimed, slamming his fist to the door once more.

After calming down for a few moments, the noble backed off the door and turned to Batre. "The book...is an item that I noticed Victoria had...I heard that it is able to bring our comrads who have fallen to Asami back to us. In other words, reverse this 'curse' that they have on them" Ephraim explained. His head was faced toward the ground and he finally looked up "Alihi...if I may..please allow me to pursue him.."

((You don't have to let him xP;; ))

"If that is truly what it was, then we have no choice but to get it back. That can help us purge the ones fallen to the darkness."

Looking over to Alihi, Bartre said, "We can send a small search party to get that tome back. Ephraim and I can do, yet we can also have him help us." Motioning at Aran.

Alihi looked up, wiping her eyes on her sleeve. She cracked a small smile, releasing Amara and removing her cloak, giving it to the young girl to use as a comforting blanket. "No, Ephraim. However..." Her hand rested on the hilt of her sword. "I'm going after them, and you can follow. If the book he took is really the restorative tome... then it is obvious he's working for Asami. And, well, I still need to get Abel back." She stated.
"I'll need some people to stay behind though... I don't want to leave Amara alone."

The tactician looked over to Bartre and nodded slightly. "Mm-hm. I'm not sitting this one out, though. It's gotten way too personal..." She said simply, glancing over at Amara, who was hugging the cloak tightly. She sighed lightly. "I hate to ask of this, but... can you give me a bit of time to think of who should go? I won't be long, I promise. It's just... Things are even more dangerous now, and I don't want to screw up."

Carefully, she picked up Amara, who had stopped crying, and headed up the stairs and into the main room. Then, she headed up to the room where she first found Amara, setting her gently down on the bed. "Don't worry..." Alihi murmured, kissing the child's forehead. "I promise... I promise that you will be safe here. No one will hurt you, as long as I'm alive..." She gave Amara a smile and then left the room, closing the door behind her. Once the door was closed tight, she let out a sigh, running her hand through her hair as she headed back down the stairs again.

... ... I promise.

Before Ephraim could say anymore, Alihi had picked up Amara and left. The noble sighed, shaking his hand a little and walked up the stairs. The first thing he went to was his room. Immediatly, he pulled a steel spear from the back of his door and dug through his bag. He reached in and pulled out a few vuluneries that he had carried with him and tucked them under his pouch. Ephraim was going with Alihi whether she agreed to it or not, in a few moments he had treated Amara like a little sister and to do something like that to 'family' was unforgivable, especially to the noble's eyes.

After gathering the things he needed he walked out of his room and down toward the main lobby once more.

CREEEEEAK.

The front door creaked loudly as it was forcefully thrown open, slamming against the wall.

"H-hello? Anyone here?"

The Soldier looked about, a little scared that he found nobody.

"Is anyone here? Come quick! There's trouble afoot!"

Blossom Ridell

PostPosted: Mon Apr 27, 2009 7:59 pm

Blossom, who had somehow completely stayed unaware of the proceedings of her friends, only realizing what was happening by their shouts and loud noises (and even then, she stayed out of the way, merely listening from around the corner, too afraid to get involved in their anger for not realizing what was happening and coming to help), heard the slam of the door opening. She looked up from the kitchen table and sprinted to the main room, skidding to a halt a yard away from the soldier.

"What's going on? Trouble? What kind of trouble?" Blossom, wanting a quick weapon, grabbed Ed's Aegis Sword from where it leaned against the wall. Lysander would have to stay at her home; no time to go get it. "Do we need to help?"

The slam jolted Alihi out of her thoughts and she rushed over to where the soldier was. "W-what's wrong?" She asked as calmly as possible.

Although, with what the soldier said, it was hard to stay or even sound calm.

By the time Ephraim got to where Alihi was, a man had suddenly walked through the door, injured. Something didn't seem right to Ephraim's eyes but he ran to help. "What sort of trouble?"

((Blarg, short post))

"Th-the castle guard, they're on a rampage," the Soldier shouted, not quite realizing where he was. His voice was... LOUD.

(Outside, Ghis let a palm slap onto his helmeted face.)

"They're headed this way as we speak! They're being led by an ill-tempered young man with wild brown hair!"

(Ghis sighed. Well, at least he wasn't THAT drunk.)

"Ill-tempered young man... wild brown hair..." She repeated softly. Who-- The answer hit Alihi in the face rather hard. She didn't want to believe it, really, but she had a feeling that the soldier was speaking the truth.

That meant that Abel was heading towards them with a force following him. She turned, looking to Blossom and Ephraim with a determined gaze. "... You heard him. Ephraim, Blossom, prepare your weapons." She drew her sword carefully. "... We've got to stop them."

So... this is the way it's going to be, eh? She let out a tiny sigh. ... Well, so be it.
