Well, you do tend to come across as an Elitist. But that's just how I see it.

Hanzo Komeiji Well, you do tend to come across as an Elitist. But that's just how I see it. It's not like it comes natural to me to constantly do that new-age "gentle talk", where a person always tries to word things in the softest way possible. Besides, if I did that then what I have to say would have absolutely zero impact. gonk

Well, I'm able to get the point across without resorting to words that could be considered "harsh".
Of course, if my patience is running thin, then you're gonna get an earful, the kind that you'd normally only get from Shikieiki.
Yes, I have been known to rant like her in the past, particularly if my patience is worn thin.

On that note, I see that there is no Shikieiki here to grace us with her presence.

I'm thinking... if I ever get around to writing any stories, I might deliberately duplicate faults and cliches of a genre...
For instance, when duplicating a non-Japanese genre, I might deliberately name a character who is supposed to be Japanese "Yue Akuma" to joke about the ignorance the average American has about Japan. (Yue being a morbid name given to babies who didn't live long enough to get a name, and Akuma not only being the word for "devil" but also being a forbidden name.)
Or if I'm copying the formula of a Japanese entertainment genre, I might name an American "Raymond Luxury Yacht", in parody of non-Japanese people having odd names in Japanese entertainment.
Or if it's a story set in the era of and based off of entertainment made when blackface was not only not considered offensive in America but even a common sight, I might put in a blackface character or two.
In other words, I would be taking the faults and deliberately using them, and acting like those things would be perfectly normal... like there was nothing odd about them whatsoever.

You mean like how half the male Mortal Kombat cast has female Japanese names?

Wotan Manasal Moon Rabbit Reisen I would be taking the faults and deliberately using them, and acting like those things would be perfectly normal... like there was nothing odd about them whatsoever. That is a lot like magical realism. I like it. Interesting. My reason for considering that was simply that if I wanted to copy a genre, then any attempts to make any major changes or improvements to the genre would detract from the accuracy of the recreation. I would also write stories that didn't stick to a formula, but if I were to try to copy a genre, I would try to copy that genre to the maximum extent that what I had planned allowed. Not even the most unpleasant or unflattering aspects of that genre would be exempt from portrayal, unless I actually despised such aspects that much (usually I'm a fairly understanding person, so that would be very unlikely).

Wotan Manasal Then I'll just post some random spam to get this thread back on topic. Hér er heimskrinn!Spoiler: That means "Here is the ⑨".*sings with cirno viking* "Spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam~" By the way, when ever I read the name Wotan I can't help but think of the Disciples games. Wotan Manasal Not really. I was just trying to derail the thread from the argument over p***s jokes. *nods* Besides, a good argument would go for a pound per five minutes. Hanzo Komeiji Does anyone ever expect the Spanish Inquisition? NO! They always catch ya off guard. *nods* They are just like Kogasa, only spanish and red. You do got to love that flying circus with the big snake, and when it is combined with Touhou...* smiles*. Now I just got to find the bridge skit starring Parsee. Moon Rabbit Reisen I'm thinking... if I ever get around to writing any stories, I might deliberately duplicate faults and cliches of a genre... I always wanted to be a writer...tempted to attempt a fan fic but something in my gut tells me that is a very bad idea. Eh, so be it, its probably better I don't try to become a witer and chase after some other dream. After all, I also always wanted to be a... lumber jack! ok, thats enough Monty python refernces. Now for something completely diffrent... It's biggrin
