*It won't work....* there was a knock on the door to the bathroom, startling Cassie. "Miss, your father requests that you be quicker about your shower." a maid said through the door.
"Alright." Cassie shouted. *i haven't done anything yet.... crap....*

Cassie stood up and tool a five-minute shower. then she stepped out, thinking about Julius's words. *Love can't break these bonds.* she thought glumly as she dressed. *I'm so sorry, Julius, if you get out of wherever you are go look for Kori, don't waste your time with me.... I'm not worth it....* she severed the connection. she didn't want his voice in her head when she had to confront her father.

Cassie knocked on the great oaken double doors leading to her fathers office. "Come in." he called out. Cassie entered. *help me...* she thought.

Julius saw a pistol lying on the ground ahead of him. "Bout damn time!" he said as he picked it up. "And it's got a silencer! Sweet!" he said as a guard came by. He aimed at his head and took a shot, killing him instantly. Julius took the ammo from the dead guards pistol and made his way to the elevator.

Cassie kept her eyes on the floor. her father stood up and walked around his desk slowly. "you know you're purpose right?"
"yes, sir."
he walked over to the bay window. "and you are fully aware that you HAVE to stay here. i know that you can feel it, so it'd be useless to deny it."
Cassie nodded. *i know, i just hope that he listens to me....* she thought.

"There should be an underground parking lot on the basement floor." he said to himself as he pushed the button calling the elevator. He waited and went inside. He found the button marked 'B2' and pressed it. When the elevator stopped he opened the door and looked around to make sure no one was there. He stepped out and ran to the parking lot.

"I know that you made a friend." he said. "What happened to him?"
Cassie looked up at her father. "i don't know where he is." she said. "I don't know if he's ok..." she lied.
"Cassie, Cassie, Cassie...." her father chided. "you can't lie to me."
Cassie looked at him in horror. "How....?"
he smiled. "every soldier needs a commander. if he is leaderless he is only a loose end that needs to be cut off. thats what separates you from him."
Cassie's eyes widened. "What have you done?" she asked. "What are you going to do to him?" she yelled.
"You'll find out soon enough." he handed her a manila folder, "There's your assignment. you are excused." Cassie walked toward him in a rage but she found herself moving towards the door. "No! you can't do this! please!" she pleaded before the doors shut in her face. she fell to her knees. *no! no, no, no, no! this is all my fault!*

Julius crept around the walls of the parking lot with his pistol in hand, looking around every corner to make sure he was alone. He saw a car in the distance, he ran to it and found the keys in the ignition. "Lucky break." he said as he tried to open the door. "Damn, it's locked." he said as he aimed his pistol at the door. He pulled the trigger, shooting the lock open. He got in and started the car. He saw the exit of the parking lot and drove towards it.

Cassie ran to her room and closed the door. *Julius! Julius!* she tried to reach him. she had cut off the connection so couldn't she make it again? *please respond, Julius!!* she pleaded.

Julius drove out of the lot and made his way outside. He was being shot at by guards. "Dammit!" he yelled as he pointed his pistol out the window and fired several shots killing three guards. Just then Cassie's thoughts ran through his mind. *Cassie what's wrong?!* he responded as he took a few more shots.

Cassie jumped up at his response. *You have to run away. i don't care where you go as long as you're as far from the states as possible. My father wants to kill you, you have to stay on the run. i'm so sorry- i'm... so... * she started crying again. *all my fault... i didn't mean to get you caught up in all this... but he knows that i have a way to contact you, please- just forget about me and run away. i don't want you to die because of me...*
