Before Elnara could open the door fully, it opened beneath her fingertips and Haradhel appeared, a bright smile on her face.
"Welcome back!" she said brightly. "It's been far too long! Come inside before the babies get cold, come in, come in ..."
She moved out of the way so that they could come into the house, trying to peer at the twins without appearing to be too eager. "By the Valar," she laughed, "Serenity was exactly right in her description of them! Hana looks like Lore, but has Elnara's ears, and Garrick looks like Elnara but has Lore's ears!"
Arahad was right behind his mother, up on his tiptoes and trying to peer into the slings. "I can't see!" he complained.

Lore smiled, that was one way to describe them. He looked down at Arahad it seemed like everyone was excited.
"Just give us a moment or so," Lore told Arahad, "Once we sit you can see them better."

Haradhel smiled warmly. "Come on to the playroom," she invited them, "and they can lay on the floor. I always found that they liked to lay somewhere where they could see a lot, when they were that small ... Arwen especially. Small wonder she's always out looking for some new excitement."
She giggled softly and beckoned for them to follow her. "Arahad, back to your lessons."
"After I see the babies," Arahad agreed - which really would only be fair, considering he was the youngest person in the Borderlands, he had never seen a baby before.

Elnara followed Haradhel, and once they were in the playroom she took a thick blanket from one of the shelves and laid it out on the floor, making a place where the twins could lay.
"Make sure you're careful around them, Arahad," she warned her nephew as she scooped Hana out of the sling that was around her neck. "They're very delicate, even the smallest bump could really injure them."
She lay Hana on her back on the blanket so that the baby could look around at everything around her.

Lore followed carefully taking Garrick into his arms before setting him down beside his sister. The two looked so adorable looking around as they did.
"There," he murmured before taking a seat next to Elnara.

Haradhel smiled at Lore and Elnara and sat at one of the desk chairs that was normally used for writing.
"They're adorable," she grinned. "You two are blessed indeed ... how are they at night? Do they wake you often?"

"Not too often," Elnara replied with a warm smile, "so I've been getting enough sleep. Once they're awake, though ..." She laughed softly. "Both of them always seem to want to eat at the same time, and just about every hour ... it sometimes seems as though I'm spending half my time sleeping, and half my time feeding now."
She looked up at Lore and slipped her arm around his waist. "But Lore's been an amazing help," she added sincerely. "I don't know what I'd do without him."

"They quiet pretty quickly after being fed, changed or simply being picked up.. though normally during the night its to be fed," Lore added.
Soemtimes though it was just being picked up, rarely though most of the time it was the other two.

Haradhel was impressed. "You two are lucky," she told them. "Ahren and Arahad weren't too bad, but Arwen always cried at night ... during the day she slept most of the time, but at night was her awake time, and it didn't matter if she was already fed, or cleaned, or whatever it was ... she just liked to cry."
She smiled faintly. "Thank the Valar those days are over," she added with relief.

"Don't jinx it for us," Elnara laughed. "I for one wouldn't mind it if things stayed the way they are!"
Though she couldn't help but wonder what would happen when they returned home, and Lore returned to work. Who would help her with the feedings? Sure, she had many other children who were capable ... but none of them knew anything about babies, and because of their races, probably wouldn't need to know.

Lore chuckled a bit, "Well... it might be too late... you never know the time difference when we get back."
That was probably going to through the babies through a loop but they might enjoy their new hope, at least he hoped they would, and Elnara too...
"I'm sure it'll be fine though," he chuckled, "I'll be there."
Sure not as much as he was now, but he was going to leave work early he had an excuse now at least.

"That's true," Elnara mused. "It would be really nice if we got back at the same time of day as we leave here."
Though what the odds were of that happening, she had no idea.
"At any rate," she smiled, "they seem to love the outdoors, and the fresh air has done all of us a world of good. I feel better than I have in months."
And now that the babies were a week old already, she was no longer walking funny either.

"After being cooped up in bed most of the time the last few weeks of the pregnacy I'm not surprised," Lore chuckled.
Indeed just the ability to get around was wonderful at least, he was pretty sure near the end Elnara just might have been driven nuts by staying in the house for so long.

Elnara grimaced. "I've never been so immobile in my life," she murmured. "There was one time when I was sick, I had some chocolate that Triton made for me, before he knew it's poison for us ... but other than that, I've always been active."
More active than she was supposed to be, when she was younger. But that was beside the point.

"Somehow I'm not surprised that you would do something like that," Haradhel admitted with a reluctant smile. "Elrohir's told me stories of when the two of you were young ... you were the first one outside in the mornings, rarely came in for meals, and always the last one inside at night. Though I suppose Arwen's no different."
She laughed. "Ahren spends a lot of his time with Adanedhel - as I'm sure you've noticed - but Arwen's the one who's gone the most. Always alone. I always thought she was the type to always have someone else around her, or tag along with someone, but it seems that she's surprised me in that regard. I have to say, other than Aragost I've never seen anyone who preferred so much to be alone."
She paused. "Except ... once in a while she does spend time with Saki," she murmured.
She looked around a bit, wondering where the fluffy cat was off to at the moment.
