Sai was no fool so he didn't let his gaurd down and kept his distance just encase. "You make it sound as if you want to help me stranger am I wrong in assuming this?" Sai was already calculating his chances of success at this and realized he probably didn't have a chance. Closing hsi eyes again to focus his thought "Okay if I must I can fire an arrow and run but lets see if she is and enemy first. Her help might make things easier."

"Heh." Her original smirk vanished to make way for a sly grin. "Now that assumption could be correct, but that's not even clear to myself at the moment. See, as of late, I'm in the need of allies, however I'm not going to just team up with just anyone and risk get my neck slit if I trust them to watch my back and get themselves gutted in the process." Even though he has clearly chosen to stand his ground, Yumi took a few bold steps closer, chopping the distance between them in half as she spoke, her fingerless gloved left hand fussing with her bangs, again, ignoring the importance.

Stopping again, she extended her right arm out, and almost instantly her sanrei glove reacted and her bow took form. Hey, I'm getting better at this. The bow was sleek, slender and light, its navy blue and ivory frame protuding from her glove at the wrist to let her hold it for the time being. Her grin widened, flashing her teeth, and she said, "Show me what you got, and we'll see what I can help you with." She waited, not attacking first, to see if this guy even had the guts to meet this challenge.

Sai couldn't help but get excited he had felt something strange inside his self at feeling her spiritual pressure he was ready for a fight. With a smile he bowed "I don't think it would be right to fight with out knowing who you fighting. My name is Saikaran Akataka."

With out waiting for a response Sai stood up straight held out his right hand letting his cross hang down and with a flash of blue flame his full blue spirit bow appeared. It was glowing and seeming to pulse the ends look slightly like the heads of dragons. Reaching forward he pulled back on the spirit string of his bow forming and arrow as well. "I don't need to know your name maybe you could tell me later."

Taking a second to look around and deciding on his best strategy he ams at his opponent and then release and arrow at the ground kicking up rocks and dirt creating a sort of smoke screen. Then he quickly release another arrow through the dirt smoke at her.

"I'm not one for pleasantries, not that'd you know just meeting me, Saikaran," She said in response to his little intro, but she did flash a brief genuine smile. His bow had a nice form for a full spirit one, but looks didn't tell much of power, herself a good example of that. As he formed an arrow she didn't even twitch, just calmly waited.

As he fired his first shot low to create cover for his next move, Yumi clucked her tongue with disapproval. Not a very direct approach. Though good for a strategy keeping yourself out of sight, it also allowed her time to make a move before him. Rocking off the balls of her feet back onto her heels, she pushed down and jumped up, the springs built in to the soles of her boots rocketing her up and above the dirt in the air. Swinging her bow arm out in front of her, holding it horizontally across as was a tendency of hers, she pulled back fast three times, shooting off three reishi arrows, staggering their trajectory a half foot apart, all towards the Quincy below.

Sai wasn't at all surprised that she dodge his first attack she was the faster one after all. The blood in his veins started pumping. Wit another quick smirk Sai started doing back flips to get out of the way of the arrows.

After clear of the arrows Sai does one more back flip launching an arrow mid-flip and then after landing back on his feet he launches one more arrow.
"Lets see if you can still dodge in the air like that!"
PostPosted: Thu Oct 22, 2009 6:47 am

Backflips? What a pointless show off move. One could just as easily dodge with a step or jump back. Annoyance on her face, she then watched him launch his attack while she was still in the air, reaching the top of her jump's arc, in the limbo between rising and falling. Thinking fast as she could, she swung her bow arm the left, turning her shoulders squarely to the side in the process and fired off a good 5 rapid shots, the force of them releasing pushing her trajectory to the side by a metre as her descent began. Even with the quick move however the first arrow just skimmed her side, but the other missed her completely by the time it got there.

Landing on her toes, Yumi dashed towards him not wasting a second, she pulled back on her bow, creating a larger reishi arrow. Not shooting it however she swung her bow at his head like a close range weapon, a swing from the top down and letting it loose as she came below his head in a swing.

Not expecting this from quincy Sai had to react quickly. He put his hands up to block the down coming attack causing the arrow to go just above his ear. The heat singed him but made him remember what remember where he was before was taken over but shock.

He twisted his hands around and grabbed her wrists and kicked her in the chest with all his force. Send her flying then launching another arrow at her as she flew back.

((Careful not to powerplay, I'm the one who gets to say what happens due to your kick not you, but I'll let it slide for now))

As she was kicked back, Yumi drew in breath suddenly, trying not to be winded in the process. Kicking down so her heels scraped across the ground, she used her spring soles to launch her trajectory higher to avoid a tree she was headed for, as well as the arrow that came soon after, though the latter wasn't the move's intention, the reishi frying the edge of her tattered cloak.

Landing against a higher branch after the avoiding the tree trunk her free hand grasped the bark, scraping her fingers as she held on until the force of the kick was annulled and she balanced crouched on the tree limb. Splinters littered her fingertips, but her expression was unchanged. Then, she let her Bow's form dissipate, and with her sanrei hand she cupped the side of her face, leaning it there, elbow propped up on her knee. "I guess you're good enough. You said you should know my name right? I'm Watanabe Yumi, veteran Quincy here in Karakura, current holder of the Quincy Headquarters as well. You're good with your bow and improvising. Didn't expect a punch from a range fighter, eh?"

((sorry about that a lot of people seem to do it a lot in this guild won't happen again. smile ))

After seeming Yumi's bow dissipate Sai's muscles started to relax. He lowered his arms dispersing his own bow. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself from the combat high he felt and enjoyed thoroughly.

Locking eyes with her he and after facing her he realized she was no mere girl. "Yumi you say well I am impressed you speed and dodging abilities were excellent. You were also very versatile I never expected a close range attack from a long rang specialist, but you did have one flaw in that attack. Instead of attacking with an arrow draw you could have used your other arm to attack me with as well and you would have had me. Now then on to real business can you help my training or should I leave you be?"

"I guess that was a mistake of mine, but I am an archer through and through," Yumi said matter-of-fact style, hopping down from the limb, landing gracefully like a cat on her feet. Shaking her splintered hand a bit, trying to cool the heat from the friction, she placed her other hand on her hip, taking up her usual slouching stance.

"Well, if you'd like help, I'm here as asset. I've learned plenty of Quincy techniques. If you're willing to join me as an ally, I'm here to help out," Yumi said with a smile.

Sai couldn't help but be attracted to her cute tomboyish attitude but he need her help if she could speed up his training then it would be worth it. "Well then I guess that can be arrange since it seems we are the only quincy, and we could help each other greatly. After all you seem to have the better physical attributes but no offense to you but I seem to have the sharper mind." Trying to be respect full he walks up to you Yumi and reaches out hoping for a hand shake. "I did introduce my self as Saikaran but if we are going to be allies then we should be friends and you may call me Sai."

Yumi merely shrugged her shoulders at his comment about himself having a sharper mind. If he did he still had yet to show it, but seeing the sudden circumstances there hadn't been much opportunity. As he walked over and offered a handshake, Yumi extended her gloved hand to shake, though not a fan of handshakes, because they often represented compromises. It was a common courtesy here, that was all.

"Sai, huh? Well that's easier to remmber then," She said.

Sai withdrew his hand after the shake and stood tall running his hand through his dark hair as he had made a habit out of and looked eyes with Yumi becoming serious. "So what now? When it comes to training I'm very serious when can we start?"

"Well, when I arrived I heard you speak of trying to learn Hirenkyaku," Yumi said slyly, before disappearing from sight. She was using that very technique. Appearing behind him she spoke again, knowing it was going to disorient him for the moment most likely, which was the point.

"Its an expert level technique, but we can work on the basics that lead to it. Hirenkyaku is based around the ability to manipulate the reishi, spirit particles below your feet and use them to glide at high speeds. Can you manipulate reishi yet?" Yumi flicked her bangs out of her eyes, where they had blown during the move.

Sai was interested in her speed for he had read about the technique but never had seen it used. "Well I wouldn't be much of a quincy if i couldn't manipulate reishi."

With a smirk Sai summoned his bow for a second and then dissipated it. "Then again I have never tryed forcing it under my feet. Thats what I was going to try before you got here."
