Rikki Tikki Travi ~Freya~Freya looks to Marie and pouts, clicking her tongue against her teeth. The kunoichi knew she was right; that checking up on the staff was much more important. That didn't mean Freya wasn't absurdly curious about the contents of the case in front of her. She turns and nods when Marie motions for her to lead the way downstairs. She listens to Marie's explanation of why they were starting on the bottom floor. She had to laugh internally at the comment Marie made about the circus trying to recruit in a firm. No, that's something my brother would have done. It's a good thing he isn't the brains behind their outfit.Freya peeks over her shoulder at Marie and asks, "Is the majority of your staff inhuman?" She pauses for a moment and makes a face like she had just offended herself. "Sorry, that was a stupid thing to say. What I meant to ask was if the majority of yours staff has special abilities?" { - Marie - }
A smile creeps up upon Marie's delicate features, although it appears more apologetic in nature than amused. "It is not so foolish a question, but I'm afraid one that I am not at liberty to share," she explains as they head towards the stairwell.
"Although some of the people here are quite comfortable with others knowing just who and what they are, we have many here that have come from very unpleasant backgrounds. In a way, it is easy to tell who the older members of the staff are simply by watching them. Senior members carry themselves with confidence, pride, and a sense of security that true faith can achieve. The younger members of the club simply have not been with the Mistress long enough yet. Overcoming the barriers of the past can be a lengthy and intimate process.. we tend to let them handle it in their own time."
Instinctively her pale hand traces along the stair railing, fingertips just lightly brushing over the polished wood as she descends. Unfocused eyes remain forward as she speaks. "One of the ways we develop that trust is our powerful respect of privacy, and as such I am sure you can see why it really isn't mine to divulge. However.." A faint smile curves her delicate features. "I'm sure just looking around, you'll find your answer quickly enough."
Reaching the main floor level, she sidesteps to keep the path to the stairwell clear. "Now.. where shall we begin? Did you have something in mind?"

Minai chan { - Kendal - } Purring from the delightful memory, Kendal slides in beside Moon. "Hey there handsome," she greets the beastly gentleman with a smile. Motioning to Urban, she then half turns to face the wolf, leaning against an arm that she rests upon the counter. "You got here fast."
~Moon~"And you took your time. But I am guessing you had some fun so it's okay" Moon replied after he noticed the smell of the other woman on Kendal. Moon planted his elbow on the counter and rested his head on his knuckles as he looked at Kendal. You could clearly see what he was looking it. His eyes started from way down and slowly worked their way up. Those beautiful long legs, that small piece of clothing Daisy Dukes, that tight zipped up leather vest, her hair, her face...For a small moment Moon forgot the reason why he was actually there. 'Ahhh..one of these days"

Kendal smirks, undaunted by his devouring gaze. "Some of the girls here wonder why I call you beast. If they only knew," she teases him lightly. "And yes, I was otherwise occupied." Shifting her weight, she glances towards the retreating redhead, her own eyes now tracing down the delicious curves of her target. "You would be too if you had that waiting for you in some dark, isolated alley somewhere."
Her gaze turns back to him, a contented sigh escaping. "She's quite good with her hands," Kendal purrs softly, a wicked smile lifting her lips.
"Anyway, enough about me. What was it you were going on about over the phone?" Claiming the bar stool beside him, she crosses one leg over the other. Dark red nails tap a few times on the counter, her eyes lighting up with anticipation. "And even more importantly.. Did you bring me a new shiny?"

~Moon~Moon couldn't help but laugh."Ahh yes I would too. I hope that one day I'll have you waiting in some dark, isolated alley" Moon replied" I'll show you a true beast." You could see a sparkle in his eyes. After he shook his head"Ahh you distract me too much...anyway as I was saying over the phone. There is this...monster in the cages recently and there hasn't been anyone who knew a thing about it. Origins, residence, nothing." "Worst thing is, that THING is going after MY title. That title is MINE. He'd have to clutch that from my dead body if he'd want that." Moon spat out. He was enraged once more at the mere thought of it. His blazing red eyes wide open. This is something he could not help no matter how much he wanted it. Whenever is is like this the only way to get back to normal is to ...fix the problem "So, my question to you Kitten is, do you have any information regarding this thing? I might have a shiny in return"

Kendal preens from the musings, pleased that she rates as a fantasy. Her attention focuses to the more serious topic easily, especially as watching the cages fights is a personal hobby of hers. His reaction to the prospect of someone taking his title amused her greatly, but she could also empathise. If anyone tried to take her title of 'sex kitten' here, she'd be on them like white on rice..
"Say.. does this have anything to do with that reward I heard the cage master was offering? Someone came by here just last night asking me about a reward. Rather large hunk of change, I hear."

The cage master is giving out a reward to the person that has info on the creature." "I was wondering if you knew anything about that creauture Kitten. Seeing as you have plenty of ...customers here, you could have easily overheard something. Now I am not the kind of man to keep the reward to myself. I will give you...70% of it. I will let the man keep the remaining 30% if he will let me in the cages once more." Moon said as he looked the playful kitten straight in the eye.

~Freya~Freya acts in kind to Marie and moves away from the stairwell. She rolls her eyes upward and tilts her head slightly to the right, her ears responding in a similar fashion, as she ponders where to go first to start the investigation. Everything aligns itself when she comes to her conclusion. "From what I know about these guys, they go after people who are special. They stand to gain more from whatever it is they take from them then someone normal. Is there anyone here who is particularly powerful in that regard?"

A faintly amused smile lifts Marie's patient features. It didn't matter how many ways Freya asked her the question, she was not going to divulge or identify anyone in the club by the strength of their abilities. "Perhaps we should just start at the entrance with the bouncers, then work our way through. We can make a sweep of the main floor, the public side, then move backstage to catch the performers. After that we'll move back upstairs. There are much fewer people up there to question."
Motioning for the canine to follow, Marie heads towards the club entrance.

Kendal waves off the offer of sharing the reward with an idle hand. "You can keep my percentage, thanks. The reward holds no interest for me. I do just fine here. I've certainly got no complaints." Glancing down the bar as she speaks, the feline discovers that Urban has not reached them because he seems tied up with another guest. Scrunching her nose in disapproval, Kendal rises from the stool and slides her derriere onto the counter. With a smooth pivot, she rotates her legs to the other side and hops back down. Her signature cheshire grin flashes briefly upon her face in her triumph, and the frisky feline begins snagging a bottle here and a mixer there, quickly whipping up a suitable libation.
"I can't say I've seen the new guy myself," she continues to Moon as she pours. "I haven't been to the cages in about a month. There has been a lot going on here. If you want though, I could ask around. I know I'm not the only person here with a taste in that particular brand of carnage. We've also got some regulars that usually keep me updated on the newest developments, which is the only reason I've heard of him at all. They say he's a real freakshow."
The last word provokes a quirky smile, remembering how many times such a phrase has been used to describe the denizens of the club. "Still if it means getting you back into the ring again, I might be willing to put a bit of effort forth to help your search," her eyes twinkle as she looks back up to meet his gaze. "Just watching you rip some poor shod a new one would be reward enough for me."

~Moon~Images flash through his head of past battles and victories. That cage was his and his alone. He can still smell the different mixtures of dried up blood in there. The space between the steel bars wasn't enough for a person to fit through. But Moon managed to squeeze someone through it. Those were the days. "So both of us aren't in it for the money. I'll get you a new shiny afterwards. But for now..." Moon's hand disappeared in his pocket and returned with a rather unique bullet between his fingers. He placed it on the counter" I'd be grateful if you would help me out here."

~Freya~Freya shrugs and follows Marie. She waves off the fact that she couldn't get an idea of what kind of beings she might be dealing with in the Circus. At this time she knew very little of the creatures that ran the thing. Demons maybe, or perhaps cultists. In the end it doesn't matter to her, she will make them pay. If there is any positive thing that can be said about Freya, it's her fierce loyalty. Time and time again the people that have tried to screw with her family only succeeded in being sucked into the shadow realm. That's when it hits her. Marie is displaying that same loyalty now. Freya can't help but smile when the notion finally sinks in. She smiles apologetically to Marie, "I'm sorry, I just realized I was acting really shady. I'm glad to see that you stick to your guns when it comes down to protecting your friends. That very admirable of you."

Sairen_Songweaver She turns her head towards Thorne, a scarlet brow arched in her direction while a tiny smile tugs at the corner of Ember's mouth as she murmurs, "And I bet you guys have one hell of a security system here, hm?" «<{› ¤Thorne¤ ‹}>»
A faintly impish smile curves Thorne's dark-coloured lips as she follows behind, finding the small tilting panel that turned on the lights. Within, the space was what appeared to be a comfortably-sized studio, with a small, but separate shower/restroom through a doorway. Simple bed-frame adorned with a comfortable-looking mattress sealed in thin plastic, simple nightstands and lamps on either side. A small table with two comfy-looking chairs (not kitchen chairs, more like padded, swiveling rockers) across each other from it. And, of course, an entire wall dedicated to a multi-door closet, obviously intended for those who either had a lot of "work clothes", or were very fashionably minded.
All the furniture was done in soothing dark colours, surprisingly enough (for employee quarters, at least) of real wood and fine textiles, blending in quite nicely to the walls. Said walls were not painted in some bland, vanilla neutral colour; instead, this room was one of the "red rooms", the bottom half of the wall a rich leather colour/texture, the top (divided by dark wood molding) a vibrant, striking red, done over with a rich transperi-black glaze that both darkened the red, as well as made it's texture match the lower wall.
Leaning comfortably against the door-frame for a moment, Thorne allowed Ember a chance to look around a bit before responding, her tone still warm, but with a hint of seriousness. "As to the security, well... suffice it to say that the Mistress has spent more on this building over the years than most Mega-Corps spend on their space-scrapers. While most places get whatever tech they can for a good price, Mistress Francesca goes straight to the top... she has contacts of some kind that get her tech straight from Solaris itself... and nobody gets past DAI's stuff," she replied with no small amount of satisfaction, as she walked over to what appeared to be a small computer/entertainment section built into one of the walls. Pressing a couple buttons, the faint sound of a small printer whispers into the air briefly, and a small sheet of paper with a bit of text on it appeared.
Walking over to Ember, Thorne offered her the sheet of paper, her expression turning serious. "Here's the list of rules and such, most of 'em are pretty common-sense. Dun go trying to hack into computers and such, Pixel will eat you... and don't try to break any of the locks. That's one of the few ways to get yourself killed in here," she murmurs, letting her gaze linger for a moment to impart the significance... maybe not necessarily a play on words, there. But the moment passed very quickly, the customary warmth appearing once more.
"Other than that, your ID code is on the bottom. Commit that to memory, until we get you an IDent-Card, and enter it into any locked door you find yourself coming across... it'll let ya into the place you're cleared for. Beyond that... anything else you'd like to see before we traipse off to find Marie?". o O ((As to the reference of "Solaris" and "DAI (Dark Angel Industries)", Solaris is a small trio system quite a ways from the main space trade routes. Known for freakishly strict immigration and draconian public laws (mostly assumed to keep outsiders outside), they're also known to produce the highest level of technology in the known galaxy... and only share it with a very select few. If needed, will explain more, possibly in PM's. ^.^ )) O o .

Ember's casual footfalls stop mid stride as the light comes on, illuminating the space that was to be hers. She blinks, wondering if the technicolor flash of the lighting downstairs had affected her vision, because this was too good to be true. She steps forward, running her hand lightly over one of the end tables, her gloved fingertips whispering over the top of the finished surface of the dark wood, and turns in dazed awe, her jaw visibly dropping at the sight of the impressive closet space. A mental image of her current, cramped studio apartment flashes through her head and Ember can't help but laugh in moment of hysterical joy. She turns to her companion, a huge grin on her face and motions to the wall:
"And you even picked my favorite color." She shakes her head in disbelief and practicably skips over to throw open one of the doors of the closest, poking her head in and giving a far more girly squeal then she ever thought she was capable of. She steps out of the closet entryway, trying her best to pay attention to what Thorne was saying about the security, the name sounded strangely familiar...but at the moment Ember was far too charged up to really focus on where she had heard it before. She nods, pulling herself completely out of the doorway and takes the paper offered to her, taking a moment to glance down the list, then back up at Thorne in time to catch the serious look in her beautiful green eyes. Ember nods, a similar look painting her own features and says, "Gotcha. Ah, I may need to make a trip some time tomorrow over to my old place, clear that out, and tell the manager to piss off, er, I mean...that I'm relocating." She snickers, tucking the paper away in a nigh invisible pocket in the back of her pants.
"Think I'm ok for now, I'm a pretty quick learner. I may get myself lost a few times, but it'll be a good excuse to test how well I've been paying attention to where we've been going in this maze of yours." She grins and continues, "let's go ahead and see your friend...Marie? What does she do here?"

{ - Marie - }
The pale young woman simply offers Freya a warm, if not faintly amused, smile and leads her to the entrance. It takes about an hour and a half for the pair to make their way through the entirety of the club staff, the majority of the time spent on the main floor. It would probably surprise an outsider the sheer number of people that seem to be employed within this building. Freya can deduce that they have only touched upon the tip of the iceberg, seeing as Marie only appears to be questioning the staff that interacts with the public. During many of these brief interviews, the canine is able to catch a glimpse of some of the behind-the-scenes players of the Muse. These are the people working the sound equipment, the lights, switchboards and monitors. Although through it all, Freya doesn't see a single sign of what kind of security system they employ.
In the end, the two women have settled up on the second floor, seated at a table not far from the upstairs bar. Marie has pulled out a thin datapad, a small ear bud secured in one ear, and her nimble fingers are darting along the braille keyboard.
"I never realised just how many of our staff are propositioned in one fashion or another every night," she tells her companion quietly. "It really is mildly disturbing."
