Ashley stayed behind Marie and waited for her ok. "What do you think it is?" she asked
((hey sorry umm I have been in the hospital with family alday and when I got home I logged on her I looked out and found my puppy dead so Im a bit out of it Im sorry))

Looking back at Ashley Marie said, "I'm not sure, but it's definatly not a 'Strange' creature. Once we get to the top of the stairs I want you to stay at the top while I search your room." They came to the top and Marie pulled out a dagger and slowly went into Ashley's room. "Hello there." Marie said as she spotted a man.

Those eyes... Alaric thought as the person entered the room. Is she... One of the strange people...?
His grip on the hilt of his blade tightened.
"You... What have you done with Lady Ashley?!" he said, angered. He flipped his grip on his blade, so that he now held it at the ready. There had been occurrences of strange people at the castle before, but... With the current situation, he couldn't afford to trust anyone upon first meeting them.
Especially not with Lady Ashley missing...

Vlad returns from his meeting, stumbling upon the scene, "Alaric, where the devil have you been? It's OK, Marie's on or side. I'm going to take a brief nap. Then we have to begin preperations for tonight." He begins walking to his room.

"We... Wait, what?" he said, lowering his guard a moment. He was confused beyond words. "Have we met?"
Luckily for the two of them, he wasn't like most humans. He was pretty accepting of most strange people, and was willing to hear them out, assuming they did the same. So, he would hear from these two, and hopefully get an explanation of what was happening from one of them.
He definitely needed an update on what was going on...

"I know everyone around here. Let's see what's happened since you've been gone. The strange creatures attacked us last night but we pushed them back, thanks in no small part to miss Marie here. Come to think of it since you're back you can replace Alexander as one of her guards. Actually I have something to discuss in private with you. Would you mind following me?" Vlad motions for him to follow as he walks away.

The explanation didn't help. He was still confused beyond belief. Repelling an attack by strange people... How long had he truly been gone? And who was this person? How did he know him? So many more questions were left to be answered, but he knew he wouldn't get explanations all at once.
He nodded upon hearing the man's request. He was still a bit suspicious, seeing as Lady Ashley was still missing, but he was prepared. He decided to have his hand on his blade during his time with the stranger, just in case.
So, he followed the man, blade out, waiting to hear what he had to say...

Vlad takes him to an empty room, placing a silence spell so nobody could hear them, "You still look confused. Oh you may not remember me, I'm Vlad Turpin, the battlemage and general of the kingdom. The king spoke highly before you disappeared. I'd like for you to resume your duties garding the princess. There's one extra duty I'm not telling you to do if you catch my drift. Keep an eye on the knight Harper."

"I don't think we've ever formally met... My apologies, sir," he said, putting his blade away. He felt embarrassed for not having recognized him. But then, he had only heard of him, he had never actually seen him up until now. If he had, he didn't remember.
He listened and took in his new orders with diligence. He was a good solider, if nothing else. He never would have got where he was if he wasn't.
"Understood, sir," he said, standing up straighter, "I will guard Lady Ashley with my life, as always, but... Why do we have reason to distrust this 'Harper?'"
He had never seen or heard of Harper, so he wanted to be filled in. He hoped that wasn't too much of a burden to ask...

"Don't worry about it, I was a young soldier myself, i know what it's like. Not like I suspect Harper of treason or anything of that nature. But he was the princess's guard for a short while. During his short assignment there were odd things going on. Mostly the other guard reported not seeing either of them for periods of time. Don't confront him or anything, just let me know if he does anything odd. Oh here's what he looks like since you've probably never seen him." Vlad creates an illusion of Harper.

The two going missing didn't seem unusual. Lady Ashley was always one to be like this... It was very possible that the two were involved together, Alaric knew. He almost felt sorry for the knight, he thought with a mental laugh. He probably wasn't aware of what he was getting himself into. Worse yet, if the two actually were involved, the king could have done something... Drastic, to say the least.
Perhaps that was why Vlad wanted something done about it. Not for Ashley's sake, but for Harper's.
He stood, ready to execute his order. But first, he wanted to wait for dismissal. He didn't know what type of person the general was, so he decided it was best to act formal...

Vlad notices the knight still standing at attention, "Oh I'm sorry, you're dismissed. Oh and the Princess should be right behind Marie" He ends the silence charm and exits walking over towards the princess and Marie, "I'm going to take a breif nap. Try to keep out of trouble for a brief while OK? Vlad once again begins turning towards his room.

Marie stands in some what of a shock that a knight of this castle would use such force to get in, but from the looks of it he was gone for a while. Marie tucks her dagger away as she says, "Miss Ashley it's alright. It's only Alric, your gaurd." Marie motioned for her to come into her room. "Have a good night Miss Ashley." Marie waved and walked away twards Vlad. In a hushed tone Marie said, "Vlad may I have a word with you?"

Harper started heading towards his room. He knew that Vlad would have people look out for anything weird the he would do. He made a decesion. He needed to keep as normal as possible for the next couple of weeks.
