"So there might be people here who has been here as long as Starr, but you might not recongize them?" Lore guessed then.

Since he didn't know how often hired help would changed between when she was young and now.

"It's possible," Elnara admitted. "Not probable, but possible. I was young after all, and memory is a fickle thing."

After all, her mind hadn't exactly been sound when she had first arrived in Gaia ... for a while there had even been the possibility that she might have been going mad.

Soronume led them through the second door and into a smaller dining room that had only a few long tables in it. There was a man sitting at the end of one of them, and there was an empty place setting (used) across from him. This then was where Soronume had been when the others had first arrived.

The man looked even older than his wife, and had silver streaks in his hair along with the laugh lines at the corners of his eyes and mouth. He was sitting, but even so he gave the impression of being only slightly taller than his wife, a rather unintimidating figure. He was heavily muscled, but his face, like Soronume's, was kind.

When he saw Elnara and the others enter the room, his eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Elnara!" he exclaimed. "You've returned!"

Lore smiled as he watched Elnara and her grandfather, it was nice to see this kind of excitement after last night. Even though Elnara knew that not everyone felt the same way as Ruel, it probably had been a bit disheartening to see him act like that.

At least.. he would have been disheartened by it if it was him.

"Temporarily, Grandfather," Elnara smiled, stepping forward to hug him and plant a soft kiss on his forehead. "Only a visit." She laughed softly. "It's good to see you again."

Then she stepped back to join Lore and her children again.

"Grandfather, this is Lore, and my two youngest, Silvrendir and Idhril."

Rigel stood, his eyes shining brightly, and smiled. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lore," he said sincerely, extending his hand for a shake.

He eyed Silvrendir and Idhril curiously.

"And I am glad to meet you as well," Lore admitted as he shook Rigel's hand.

He chuckled realizing that he probably didn't know what to make of the two little ones. They were so small and Elnara adopted from other races as well.

"Silvrendir.. Idhril, won't you say hello?"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 02, 2007 1:37 pm

Silvrendir grinned and waved energetically, his green eyes sparkling brightly.

"Hello!" Idhril chirped from Elnara's arms, waving as well. She giggled a bit. "You're not as tall as Nineko!" Then she blinked up at Elnara. "Do we call him Nineko too? Because he's your Neko and that makes him our Nineko right?"

Elnara put one hand on Idhril's head and ruffled her hair affectionately. "He is, but I call him Grandfather, so you call him Great-grandfather," she replied with a smile. "That way we don't get confused as to who we're talking about, hm?"

"Okay!" Idhril agreed brightly. She looked over at Rigel, then back at Elnara, and whispered, "Can I go see him?"

Laughing now, Elnara handed Idhril over.

Rigel chuckled and took Idhril from Elnara, marveling at how small and light she was.

"You're just like your mother was when she was little," he told her with a grin. "She was always asking questions about everything as well, always had to know how everything worked. Of course, she was bigger than you are now, but she couldn't speak nearly so well as you do!" He laughed again.

Soronume approached them again with four sets of dishes in hand. "Why don't you join us for our meal?" she offered. "We'll be busy enough in a while, but for now we have time to sit and chat."

"That would be nice," Lore replied back softly knowing how Slivrendir was certainly looking forward to the idea of lunch.

He looked down at Silvrendir.

"Right Silver?"

Silvrendir nodded and hugged Lore around the neck, grinning. His stomach growled just then as if to accentuate his point, despite the fact that he had had quite a big breakfast.

"Sit, Daddy!" he said, pointing to one of the places where his great-grandmother had put a place setting.

Idhril giggled. "Everybody keeps saying I'm just like Mama!" she exclaimed. "Nako said it and Tinuviel said it and Aunt Luthien said it and Papa says it and Aranhil says it ... oh look what he gave me!" She held up the leaf brooch that was still in her hands. "Isn't it pretty?"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 02, 2007 2:10 pm

Rigel smiled and looked at the brooch. "Yes indeed, it is very pretty," he told Idhril with a chuckle. "You're a very special little girl indeed!"

He sat down again and put Idhril on the table next to him. "Did you like your Mama's friend?"

Lore chuckled at that as he wandered over to the table to take a seat, "Okay then, it does sound like you're quite hungry."

He set Silvrendir on the table beside him pushing a plate close to the boy so he could sit close. Though the plate, like many normal plates could have been the little boy's own table.
PostPosted: Sun Dec 02, 2007 2:46 pm

Silvrendir grinned and ran his finger along the edge of the plate, then picked up the fork that had been set next to it. It was clearly a fork meant for children, being half the size of a regular fork, but even so it was half as long as Silvrendir's arm. He giggled and showed it to Lore.

Idhril nodded eagerly as Elnara took a seat next to Lore. "He was very nice and he gave me this for a present, and he made lots of pretty things!" she gushed. Then she grew quieter. "But then him and Mama had a serious talk and I think it made both of them sad because then we had to go."

"Idhril," Elnara admonished her daughter, though she knew very well that Idhril had no idea how that might have sounded. "We were there for quite a while, we were taking up his time," she finished, though she knew it sounded lame.

"Ah, I see," Rigel nodded, glancing sidewise at Elnara. The way she had reacted to Idhril's comment (as innocent as it had been) told him that this was not a matter to be discussed - at least not at present.

Still, he had wondered what it would be like if the two of them had met again ... granted, he had never imagined she might already have someone else, so it had likely gone quite differently from what he had thought.

Soronume meanwhile was going around and serving everyone. "Eat up," she smiled warmly at them. "There's plenty more where it came from."
