Raven_Darkholme Jaeger_Ayers Raven_Darkholme Please tell me you don't mean Ichi The Killer. I'm referring to The Killer by John Woo starring Chow Yun-Fat. THANK THE GODS. SRSLY.I'm almost hurt that you doubted me on this matter.

Netflix gets on my nerves but I has it anyhoo. I have about 65 movies on my list. I just polished off an old Disney fave, Mary Poppins, and Mr and Mrs Smith.

Inque Clay Battle Royale's concept scares the living, God-fearing crap out of me.
That said, what little I've actually seen of the second (maybe third?) one I liked. I like the concept on the level of these kids are faced with an utterly hopeless situation and some of them still find it in them to hope and trust.

Jaeger_Ayers Elijah_Snow Jaeger_Ayers Elijah_Snow Jaeger_Ayers Wally_West But bad dubbing funny is a GOOD funny. RIght? Only in fun movies, like Jackie Chan's. I never want to watch Hard Boiled dubbed. I refuse to watch Hero dubbed. I refuse to watch House of Flying Daggers dubbed. I refuse to watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon dubbed. You're a good, good man. The Killer and Old Boy are two more of mine. Old Boy was an excellent movie. I haven't seen The Killer yet though ... need to find it first. neutral
Have you seen Full-Time Killers? (with Andy Lau)Haven't seen that. I do feel that the no cut fight scene in the hallway in Old Boy is one of the greatest fight scenes I have ever witnessed. I usually go with the Sky vs. Nameless fight myself ... but yeah, that scene was very, very, very impressive indeed.

The John Woo movie is one of my favorites and I put much higher than any gore-fest or mere shoot-em-up.

Read the book, manga, and saw the movie. Loved the crotch stabbing, painful yet funny.

I like the movie for the blistering social commentary. Also the no holds barred brutality and why it was brutal. Fukasaku was a virtuoso.

Elijah_Snow I usually go with the Sky vs. Nameless fight myself ... but yeah, that scene was very, very, very impressive indeed. I personally am a fan of two of the fights in Fist of Legend. The one where Jet Li fights for control of the school and refuses to use the techniques and switches to western boxing, and when he and the Japanese uncle fight blindfolded.
