Was that a question she was supposed to answer?
"Isn't there someone you want to keep safe? Or..or just see their smile?"

The look of utter confusion on Tarathiel's face probably explained more than any words he could ever say. "Is that 'Love'?"

"You probably stopped half the army."
Looking up at him with a slight smirk.
"Dimitri grows minions the way a halfling grows tobacco leaf. and there are still Drow to be accounted for. captives from Kimmuriel's assassination attempt on his sister."
Onyx landed on that ship rather heavily, and snarled at pretty much anything that was within three feet of him.
"Whirlwind. where is she, exactly?"

"Did he tell you that, or did you make that one on your own too?" Jarlaxle replied. He pointed at the door, "One army," Then down the hole, "Two armies." The drow smiled, "And don't worry about 'them'."
Celeste looked at the angry wings and claws. "Perhaps I would tell you if you would behave yourself a little more like a guest, and less like an enemy." Elric was standing nearby, his eyes following the feral movements. "Do you ever think about the impression you give when you come to visit a friend, or do you not care if you provoke her crew into a fight? I wonder how she would recieve you if you killed off her sailors?" Celeste didn't seem to be scared.
"Do you think he can kill the drow?" Elric added, "He's in the cabbin."
"Why did you say that?"
"Either way is good for us."

It didn't offend Zahara that Kieran chose to keep an eye on her and Piper, in fact it touched something deep inside her, filled a hole she hadn't known was ever there. But indeed it was, empty and gaping until now. A soft smile sent in his direction until she was inside the damned place and then it was right back to business, daggers ready to slice and dice. A thought suddenly came to her and she reached into her bottomless bag and pulled out that whip, coiled at her side and latched it to her skirt in that way that no one really knew how she did it, much the same wiht the closure on her skirt. Drow, all secrecy. "So boys, where to next?" Since they were quite obviously playing the leaders in this little adventure.

A slight snort.
"The Captian is not my friend. Nor are most of his 'crew'. thus I care very little for thier impressions. You, on the other hand, at least have respect. an elven hunter..and you are a sorceress, perhaps?"
Though he took a look around, claws at the ready.
"I am a hunter. it is my existance, my purpose. my only other purpose and care is Whirlwind, and her safety and well being. I do apologize if it lends me a more...feral...appearance or methodology."
Though a look to Elric.
"I would like to kill him. But...Whirlwind wouldn't permit it. So we will probably never know if I can or not."
Malik only chuckled lightly.
"logical deduction. you Drow don't let yourself get taken alive if you can help it. you'll fight with everything you have. and they were the only ones who's souls I didn't 'intercept' on thier way to Lloth for information. Those that I did, reported them as missing among the enemy. I deduct either capture, or they died later and slipped by my necromancers. most likely capture."
Letting Malvoence's flame light the area around him.
"Coming? Or do you have somethign else that requires your attention?"
And started down teh dark corridors, going toward whereever smelled the least foul. Dimitri was the kind to care a bit about his personal surroundings. and if his body was human, the smell might prove offesnive enough.

The upper regions of the castle...this is a palce where the failures lurked. Those experiments that were not suitable for Dimitri's needs, but were let loose to live or die as they may. Things skittered in and out of sight, just beyond vision. Sometimes labored breathing was heard.
Thier first encounter with such a creature happend not far into the corridors. Something fast slinked by their feet, something large and humanoid. It's skin appeared to be rotting, and it smelled that way to.
A body, distrted and mutated so that it's lower halfeseemed to be elongated and stuck together, struck out at Piper fist, lang, blakcend claws reaching for her throat. The labored breathing came from an open, gaping mout full of thin, sharp teeth. The face resembled her fathers'.

Tarathiel froze, "It may be impossible for me to understand this, maybe I don't want to, maybe I can't, or maybe I am just a demi-god."
Celeste looked at the winged cat, she was about to say something when Elric interupted.
"Whirlwind's in the cabbin with the Captain." Which recieved an odd glance from Celeste.
"You would do well to think more on your actions and think less through them, flying cat. Killing the crew is killing part of Aella. Killing the Captain would be the same." Celeste chuckled, then laughed.
"You really have to find a better way of dealing with this situation." Elric told his friend and commander. "Its driving you mad."
"Not as mad as an elf who constantly draws his bow at the man he cannot kill." Celeste replied.
Back in the deep dark dungeon of horrors unknown, Jarlaxle walked at his normal pace, he seemed to be unintrigued by this place. IT was like walking down a path he had walked so many times before, avoiding snags and holes as though he knew they were there.

She looked at Tarathiel with sadness in her eyes. "Most people don't understand. Being a demi-god has nothing to do with it. God's can love too."
Her turn to ask a question. "Does love frighten you?"

Again she rubbed the back of her hand over her eyes, squinting against light that only she and Kieran were able to see. Yeah she really just needed to do this every day to get used to it and therefore when situations like these cropped up...she wouldn't have to worry about feeling like the sun was shining directly into her eyes. Instinct was telling her to shade her eyes and that was bad. Noise and smell didn't make any of it easier either, but she didn't complain. Only a blink a moment as she turned her head to see her father's face...wait wasn't Kieran behind her? Seems her collar would again prove to be her constant this time as well, seeing as the bulk claws that struck out would only catch metal, perhaps the first grazing above and last grazing below said collar.
Kieran was there of course before she could even react to what was happening or fully registering what was going on, one hand clasping to her tunic and yanking her back, the other grabbing his sword, pulling it from it's sheath with the all too familiar sound of a blade scraping leather as it left it's protective covering. Then the sick sound of metal slicing through flesh as he easily let his blade do the talking for him. Of course, when you have something on the end of your blade, you get a moment to contemplate and look at it. Kieran wasn't liking what he saw. "By Corelleon..." And he shoved his blade forward to shove it back before pulling his blade back and arcing it up to decapitate the creature. This just got disturbing.

Malik looked none too impressed...and shook his head lightly.
"Well. though imitation is supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery...I guess he likes you, Kieran."
A slight chuckle and leaning down by the thing, using the flame from Malvolence to illuminate the body for himself.
"It has no soul. I assume this was an attempt at a doppleganger that just didn't go to plan. So it looks like we might have to be on our guard agasint ourselves, too."
and he stood up, and got a move on, idly playing kick the can with the things head. if these ate flesh, maybe one woudl attack teh rolling head before the people behind it.
Onyx snorted lightly.
"I'm a Vah, not a flying cat. and I do think on my actions. if I didn't half this crew woudl be dead and your hunter friend woudl probably be prying me off of him in some fashion."
thoughhe headed toward the cabin.
"If you want a diplomat, talk to my brother. he's the calm one. I'm the wild one, the killer. and I prefer it that way."

"This is the last time you are allowed on this si-" Celeste began, but was quickly interrupted by Elric.
"Leave him be." The archer smiled, "He's too hot tempered like me to let that pass."
Celeste calmed herself down, "He wont be happy until everyone is his enemy."
"Some people are like that." Elric replied serenely. "When did we switch personnas?"
Celeste laughed at the joke.
Jarlaxle was still unimpressed by his surroundings.
Tarathiel looked at her and very quietly mumbled, "I don't know."

She put her arms around his neck and hugged him, although whether for herself or for him she didn't know. "That's okay, you know."
As they moved further down, a siloette appeared in the middle of the hallway. The closer they got, the clearer the figure became. It stood facing the opposite direction, long gray hair spilling down it's back. It soon became evidant that the 'it' was a girl.
Large doe eyes turned and looked at them, blinking mournfully. On the outside, she looked no different than her genetic counterpart.

Kieran grimaced. "I think I can do without the flattery." A look at his stained blade, deciding against putting it away and opting to just carry it before he turned his attention on Piper, putting to fingers under her chin to make her tip her head back. Okay, he was happy for that collar or else his daughter may be in more trouble than he cared to think about. "Good tactic though...take the image of those you know and use them against yourselves. I don't like it."
"Just another thing to watch out for. Though that's frightening to think about...like how did he know about father?" Kieran had never been exposed to the lich really. Not seen him nor really dealt with anything involving him. Made her all too wary of things now. Then a frown at Malik as he went head kicking...did he honestly have to? It was creepy enough and now he had to go kicking heads...and ones that beared a likeness to Kieran too. Yeah. Though a blink at the figure in the middle of the hallway. "Alright, just to soothe me, is there a definate way to tell what's real and what's a copy?" Being careful was good.
