Minutes, hours-- Nariana had no idea how much time passed. She just knew that four vampires lay half melted around her, and she was looking for more. She was on a roll! But alas, Charlotte's voice broke through her streak, announcing that the fight was over. Sulkily, Nari turned down the switch and reverted the bloody staff to its tiny original form. Leaning over one of the corpses, she mumbled, "I believe this is yours," as she wiped the blood onto its tattered clothes. Sighing, she stood back up and walked over to Luciano. "So... Now what, boss?" she asked rather nonchalantly.

Koji dusted himself off after he was sure the fight was over, though the blood splatters had absorbed most of the dirt and started setting into his clothes so it wasn't really helping any. He was relieved to see Charlotte walking up with the case. The sooner they were out of vampire territory, the better. "I think it'd be best if we just head straight back to HQ," Koji suggested. "We still don't know if any more vampires were headed there."

(Time skipping~)
The walk back to HQ was smooth and uneventful to Nari's disappointment. No vampires emerged from any obscure shrub they passed, no bats flew overhead to signify another ambush... nothing. It was too peaceful for her, and upon entering the welcoming doors of HQ, she trudged upstairs, grumbling something about "bloody vampires" and "shocking".
Feeling very restless, the last thing she wanted to do was go to her room. Not even the blood stains, ripped clothes, and matted hair really bothered her at the moment. So instead, she walked down the hall in search of Johnny and the others who stayed behind. Her first guess was to look in Waffle and Sabe's room. She knocked quietly, waited, but nothing happened. She put her ear to the door and listened for a second. Still nothing. So she moved down the hall and listened for any sounds. She heard a rustling coming from Luciano's room. 'But Luciano was with us... Hm, might be Johnny,' she thought a bit perplexed. Nonetheless, she snooped around. This time she opened the door without knocking and said, "We're ba--" stopping midway upon seeing Sabe curled up into a ball on the couch. Her blood boiled as she remembered his untimely clumsiness earlier during the ambush. "What are you doing here," she stated rather than asked.

Sabe was startled by Nariana's sudden entrance. His lips moved a little as he wanted to say something, but no sound came out. Everything remained quiet.

Raising an annoyed eyebrow, Nari cocked her head toward Sabe's direction and said, "Speak up. I can't hear you." She raised her hand to her ear to emphasize her point.

The added tension widened Sabe's eyes. He scooted away until his back was against the couch. He didn't want to talk to angry people.

"Since you do hear me..." she trailed off. Seeing Sabe's pitiful reaction, Nari fully entered the room and stepped toward to him, leaving the door hanging open. She bent over slowly and checked him out, looking for injuries or something. She didn't really care if he was hurt at the moment. She just wanted to know why he was ignoring her question. Her face was now tight and stoic, like she was holding back.

Sabe got fidgety as Nariana stared at him. If looks could kill he'd be dead. He readied his hands should he need to shield his face or any other body part. Still no sound, other than an uneasy breathing pattern.

At his reaction, she snapped back up and glared at him with disdain. "Oh, calm down! I'm not going to hurt you... at least not right now!" Nari said as she started losing her temper. Sabe was just being a wimp at the moment in her eyes. She had never even touched him all these years! But this was about to change. She took a deep breath, trying to quell thoughts of literally shaking words out of him, and knelt beside him. "Hold. Still," she demanded. She was mad, but she wasn't cruel. She touched his chest, wondering if an injury in that area was causing his irregular breath.

The touch made him squirm. He couldn't help it; his instincts led him to believe that Nariana had some other motive for touching him so gently, as if it were a setup for something worse. His personal space was being violated and he had no means of saying so.

Almost concerned now-- almost--, she pulled her hand away and thought for a moment. 'Did he get hurt by a vampire? Or did this happen after we left? Ugh, why am I helping him? That a--hole's clumsiness nearly did me in!' She gritted her teeth angrily and fisted her hand at that last sentence. Sucking in a shaky breath, she let her hand and jaws go slack before standing in a squat. "If you won't tell me what's wrong with you, I'm sure I'll find someone else who will," she said and smirked before slipping her arms awkardly around him and lifting him, attempting to get him bridal style.

Sabe was left wondering what Nariana's smirk was all about, or why she was reaching at him, but that was interrupted when she tried lifting him. He felt a hand slide toward his bottom (as Nariana was likely finding a way to balance him so they wouldn't fall over). At that point he shoved her away, slid off the edge of the couch cushion and landed on the floor with a thud. He sat up and positioned himself so his back was touching the couch and gave Nariana a hateful glare.

'He... pushed me... again?!' Nari thought slowly at first, not believing what Sabe just did when she was clearly-- to her, at least-- trying to get him up and help him to the others. That was it; she saw red. All restraint blown to smithereens, a dark atmosphere could be sensed around her. She hissed and returned the glare full force, "What is with you pushing me?!" she shook her hands while they curled up like claws. "I don't care what your reason is. I don't care if there is nothing behind me but fluffy, soft clouds... If you push me one more time," she squatted to his level and shoved her pointer finger in front of his face, "I swear I will punch you like you're a bag of sand!" She bared her teeth before standing up and storming to the door. Turning one last time, she snapped, "If you have the nerve to push me, you must be pretty great! Excuse me for wondering about you!" And with that, she slammed the door and trudged down the hall.

As the door slammed, he stayed exactly where he was and started sobbing hard. He didn't understand why Nariana was planning to pick him up when she could have walked away and talked to someone else as she said she would in the first place; could she even carry him?
The crying wasn't going to stop any time soon, and Sabe felt like his heart was up near where his throat was. A few moments later and a telltale churning feeling sent him scrambling for the bathroom.

Nari swore under her breath as she dragged her feet to the top of the stairs. 'How dare he push me like that! Is he nuts? Have I gone soft or something?? Am I not formidable enough to earn some respect?!' she thought furiously. "He must want some of this, too..." she growled under her breath and looked down to her bosom where her forgotten rod rested. She grabbed the railing in front of her a little roughly and announced below, "Hey, someone should check out Sabe. That as--, bas--" she stopped and slid her hand down her face in frustration before continuing, "guy, ugh, is acting weird." And with that, she finally went to her room. This was just too much for her nerves. 'I need a good bath...'
