Like I said though, they might change the format. On Scholarpedia, a change must be approved before it is visible as such.

Are you sure? I just created a quote to try in a thread in the forums saying just '********', and when I posted it, the word was displayed just fine.

I think it has to do with the fact that I was quoting a user who had a censor in place? Maybe? ... No, that wouldn't make a difference.

I think if you quote someone with a censor, it will just copy the censor as *'s.
