He was likely to do a lot of things - lose his temper, act like an a**, or be unintentionally rude. But abusive was something he strived not to be. Samuel had already witnessed firsthand the aftermath of the abuse Micha suffered. He didn’t want to be the next person to hurt him. He knew in some ways that he was already failing at that. If not physically, he seemed to find new ways to hurt him emotionally, even when he wasn’t trying to.
The silence spread between them them once more after he spoke. Samuel sipped at his drink and watched as Micha soon did the same. He too was starting to regret talking about the past. He hadn’t meant to be a downer by bringing up painful memories. Then again he wasn’t aware that this particular one was painful. Micha had never told him that he was hurt by taking back his words. Samuel set his glass back down on the table and contemplated pushing it towards Micha. He wouldn’t hold it against him if he wanted a sip. But he also knew that his sobriety was important to him and he didn’t want to enable bad behavior. Leaving the glass as is, he munched on a few more fries in silence.

Samuel took full responsibility for the wine a few days ago. Micha had only just told him that he was completely sober, but he had been so excited to just be on a date with him that the knowledge almost instantly slipped his mind. It wasn’t until after dinner that he realized his mistake and didn’t know if he should say anything about it. It was only one drink and he remembered Micha switching to water as soon as he finished it. He debated allowing Micha a sip of his own drink as his mood seemed to dim. It wasn’t a solution, he still remembered everything Micha had told him about his near death experience. But if a sip made him feel better, he wouldn’t deny him.
Samuel continued to eat the fries as he tried to think of a way to steer the conversation back toward something more cheerful. Across the table, he heard the cracking of a can. He supposed that meant he didn’t want any of his drink after all. Good. He was glad. He shouldn’t have brought such temptation over in the first place but once again, he wasn’t thinking. Another moment passed and he felt Micha’s thumb move against the back of his hand. He smiled softly as he felt comforted by the small gesture. Samuel listened as the male lightly teased him. ”I might know a couple. Do you want to check them out or should I describe them to you?” he teased back. Samuel didn’t mind showing him, he had actually been thinking about doing just that moments earlier.

It may not have been his problem but he knew that breaking such habits could hard. It wasn’t exactly fair that he could drink while Micha could not. It may have been Micha’s burden to bear, but if he wanted the support then Samuel would gladly give it to him. He would quit along with him and stick to the non alcoholic beverages. While not entirely the same, Samuel recalled when he had tried to quit smoking. It had been hard to try and avoid the cravings, especially when he was surrounded by other smokers when he was working.
Samuel also didn’t want to sit in silence. He hated when they got quiet because it usually led to hurt feelings and unnecessary drama. He took comfort from the male’s soft caress and the subject was changed. He smiled as he was teased and soon teased him back. Samuel didn’t mind taking him around to the few secret spots in the club. Though it might be a little hard to navigate with so many people still in the club. He might have to wait until closing to show him at least one of them. He listened as Micha asked him for more information about the rooms then watched as he sipped his soda. ”Okay. So for starters, you know where the VIP section is, right? If you know where to look there’s actually a false wall that leads to a back staircase that leads to two sky boxes. You can just barely see them if you look up, but they’re right above the VIP section.” he explained. Leaning back in his seat, Samuel pointed out one of the boxes. It was a little hard to make out with its darkened windows, but they were there.

Samuel had never made mention of the unknown rooms because he wasn’t sure if Micha would be interested in them. Not only that but he mostly kept to his office, so he didn’t know if he would ever get the chance to show him. Now that he was out here, he didn’t mind sharing a few club secrets. Starting with what he felt was one of the most obvious secrets, he pointed out the sky boxes sitting directly above the VIP section. Glancing towards Micha, the male followed his finger as he looked up. The boxes were about as nicely decorated as the rest of the club but with a few added amenities. He heard Micha question him, and gave a brief nod. ”I mostly use them for business purposes. But every so often they’re rented out to celebrity guests and their friends. It’s a bit more private than VIP section, and the tinted window adds an extra layer of privacy.

It wasn’t surprising that Micha couldn’t see inside the rooms from their current vantage point. To his knowledge no one should be up there, nor has anyone used them in a few weeks. That wasn’t surprising either as he charged a fair amount given the type of people who would be using them. Samuel explained as much as he answered Micha’s question. He had never talked much about the club to Micha; other than telling him how he got started, how his nights were, and the people he worked with, he didn’t think Mocha cared that much. He didn’t mind answering his questions though, it was nice to give him a little more insight to what he did for a living. As they continued to speak, Micha teased him again. He smirked at the notion of taking another person up there. The thought had crossed his mind a couple of times, but it never happened. ”Looking to be the first?” He teased back. Whether he wanted to go up there to satisfy his curiosity or he was looking for more, Samuel didn’t mind showing Micha the sky boxes.

Samuel didn’t mind talking about the club. It was his pride and joy, his passion as it were. He didn’t mind sharing it, so long as Micha wasn’t too bored with his ramblings. He had a bit of a similar issue when it came to Micha’s own work. In the beginning when they started dating he wanted to know all about Micha’s business. Since he returned they hadn’t given it much thought, though that was partly due to his current circumstances. In the future he would try to be a little more active in sharing the details about his business, so long as Micha was willing to do the same.
He smirked as he was teased even further. The thought of taking someone up there was tempting. It was dark, quiet, and near sound proof from past experiences interacting with clients. Samuel watched as Micha smirked back at him, teasing him still. His words amused him and he was curious just what of things Micha had in mind. ”Oh really,” he continued . ”In that case, grab your drink.”

He was glad at least one person liked his rambling. Samuel knew he often over explained things or could sometimes get caught up on certain details. Still, he liked how they were talking more. There was still some work to be done but they were leagues ahead than the early days of their relationship. He felt like he could be more honest and actually enjoy a quiet moment or two without the stress of hurt feelings or anxiety. He wasn’t too worried that the work conversations were one sided. Samuel knew that in time Micha would have his own business up and running again. Then he could tell him all he wanted about the days events, the pictures he took, and the people he met. If there was ever a bad day, could tell him about those too. He would be there for him no matter what.
Samuel wasn’t entirely sure what counted as an act of voyeurism. He’d never been one to peep in windows or watch strangers from afar. Though he knew that was only part of the problem. He supposed in some ways doing something in the sky box could count as an act of voyeurism, or maybe it was just an act of exhibition. Though that might be wrong as well. Samuel didn’t give it much thought as he suggested that they leave. He watched Micha grin and grab his drink from the table. Samuel grabbed his own glass and brought it to his lips, finishing it off in one swallow.
The amber liquid burned as it slid down his throat, warming his chest and passing straight through his stomach and settling down near his groin. Setting the now empty glass on the table, Samuel stood and led him by the hand through the crowd. He held tight as he walked past the rows of crowded tables and down to the line of people waiting to get in the VIP section. A few unknowing people gave them odd looks as Samuel passed them all and went straight to the head of the line. Their complaints amused him as he casually greeted the staff member, who pulled back the velvet rope for them.
He thanked the man and proceeded to lead Micha up the stairs to the second floor. From the landing there was a great view of the entire club. However, this was not what he was planning to show him. As Samuel said earlier he led him towards the wall behind the stairs. To the untrained eye, it appeared to be just an ordinary wall. But upon closer inspection there was a small black handle that allowed him to push the wall inward. ”After you.” he said, gesturing Micha to go first.
