The effects of human industry has been a sneeze on the climate. We're almost inconsequential to Global Warming. Global warming is the reset. When desalination to the ocean due to melting at poles hits a certain point the gulf stream breaks down triggering an ice age. Once this event is set in motion it takes about ten years for an ice to fully be upon us. It's not the end of the world, at least here it isn't, Europe would be screwed. The climate here in Virginia would be like that of Maine. Still livable. And if humans are responsible for Global Warming then how in the hell was the last one triggered? Were ******** Dinosaurs riding around in Dino-sized ********? I don't think so. Gore and the rest need to shut the hell up and try to deal with more pressing concerns, like gas prices. evil evil evil We dont know if global warming is natural or not. It may or not be due to the sun. It may or may not be due to the earth's natural cycle. It may or may not be due to human presence. We havent been here long enough to know any of the above conclusively. However, whats so wrong with wanting to reduce the burden we place upon the planet? Whats wrong with wanting to pollute less? Everybody's parents teaches them to clean up after themselves as a kid, why dont we when we grow up? If people really dont think cars have any effect on the atmosphere, please feel free to pull into your garage after work tomorrow, close the garage door, and spend the night in the car while its still running. Tell me how you feel tomorrow. I dont care about global warming, or CO2 emissions, or whatever the political hot button, partisan, re-election issue is right now. However, I do care that people feel the earth is disposable, or endlessly renewable. Its not. Governments of the world need to enforce stricter standards on coal-burning power plants. They need to enforce stricter standards on fuel efficiency in cars. Who the hell cares if it costs a bit more every billing cycle or refuel, its the PLANET at stake! Whoo..that must be the Native American in me rising up again. They say that Latinos and Lumbees have the worst soap boxes. xd

The Global Warming bit is a cheap scare tactic. Yes there are effects on our envirornment due to us, the chemicals we use and fuels we burn. Global warming ain't on the list, they're full of s**t. Now, why don't they look at the studies on car emissions and the human body. People are actually damaging their lungs by jogging in major cities! They want results, and really want to get us to use less fuels and cut back on pollution, make it a health issue, because that's exactly what it is.

That and my old journalism instincts. These guys all have an agenda, and are willing to say and do whatever it takes to achieve this. That agenda is simple: "Get power and keep power". I'm all for alternative power sources and do try to be eco-conscious, but I'm not looking to scare or strong arm anyone. We get enough of that in my town with PETA and Pat Robertson camped out here. Both of them about 20 minutes from my house. rolleyes

You've really got to look at every side nowadays to try to get the real picture. I went independent a long time ago. Just wish the Libertarians had enough support to stop the impending 08 debacle.
