like I said though it may raise prices, there is a limited amount of gold on gaia. basically everything is gonna be inflated slowly at a 2% climb, well you can only make something cost so much before no one can buy it anymore, then people will have to settle for less, once this happens, gaias market will slump. and things will be very cheap. since no profit is made, or the market will crash and nothing will be sold altogether.
in some ways its quite brilliant.
oh and people will use the cash shop more often this way, which I think was the main intent.
oh noes... conspiracy theory.
gaia put the tax on so the market will slump and encourage people to buy gold from the gaia cash shop to pay for things!

If you're looking for college money, take a year off and join up with Americorps NCCC. It's a 10 month based service group that travels around the country and does all sorts of work (i.e. I'm about to do trail work outside of Vegas in December.)
Right now we get 4700 dollars for our college funds, and a living allowance that's decent, but the education award may be adjusted within the next couple of years to a much larger number.
