Ukaia looked puzzled as to why he'd.. act like that. She tiled her head then said curiously
"if youre not a neko.. that makes us no longer onii san right?" she asked him curiously
"You said you were my big brother when i remmeber.. " she added in a small voice looking uncertinally at him.

"Well what?" Lily asked, puzzled and concerned. "Talk to me..." Then she looked to Tomo, small skepticism on her face. "Well... if you're sure. Just be careful. Especially with the baby... the hormone changes and stuff could make a spell go wonky..."

"I never was a neko..." Tomo said, gently pulling his tail from hers, "I'm human." He admitted, paging through the book. "And I'm always going to be me, no matter what I look like." He said, ears drooping a little.

"O.. oh" she said then backed away a bit and gave him a overly chearfull smile
"Then.. you shoudnt' pretend to be neko" she said.. as she went towards the kitchen. Mabye she should just.. go outside again. She haden't even seen her owner in a few days

"Ukaia was terrified last night with the mob coming. I've been trying to be there for her since her memory's been gone and everything. I didn't want her to think I was just abandoning her," he said taking time to piece it together and hesitating before continuing. "I wasn't sure what the mob was formed about but .... I've been driven out of towns before."

"I know." Lily told him softly, then gave him a tight hug. "And I understand. I... didn't sleep well last night, or I never would have been angry to begin with. It's okay. If she needs you to be with her at night, then... then you should go. I trust you."

Ukaia natrually was hearing every word of the conversation and guilt welled up. slaves didn't take loved ones from each other. Slaves didn't have family.
"I'm.. gunna make something to eat"s he said
"Anyone want anything?" she added stepping intot he kitchen

"It wasn't that." Lily whispered, crawling into his lap and nuzzling his neck. "I fell asleep in my spaghetti... I can sleep without you, as much as I hate to do it. I just... had a nightmare, and when I woke up, I couldn't go back to sleep. Don't worry about me, okay? You should be there for her. She trusts you." Then she looked up at Ukaia and smiled. "I'm fine, thank you. And hey," she added, seeing the guilt in the neko's expression. "Chin up. I'm letting you borrow him for awhile. Make sure he's in good condition when you give him back." she teased lightly.

Tomo froze, absolutely petrified. "I..." he began, but he realized he had nothing to say.
You shouldn't pretend to be a neko.
He plopped down on a barstool. Even before Ukaia lost her memory he couldn't help but wonder if that's what she thought of him.. Was she offended by him? He had no idea... He knew a lot of humans rejected him, but this caught him totally by surprise. "I-I'm sorry..." Was all he could manage. All this time, he could have been making her extremely uncomfortable while being around her and all he could do was play the pity card through his freakishness.

Ukaia just offered them all a happy smile even though she felt.. miserable Especially seeing tomos now.. upset face
"It's ok TOmo. Everyone likes to play neko sometimes.. We get all the fun" she said with a giggle then looked at Lily
"I promice he'll be in perfect shape" she said innosently
"I promice nothing about his clothing though" she added.. since she was still dressed in his outfit. she shut the door to the kitchen and her ears fell. Afterlal how could one promice to keep clothing in shape when you were going to run away. Might as well eat first though. She began to cook

Lily frowned, seeming puzzled. "I... I can't remember most of it." she told him softly. "Just... I was in the dark, and there wasn't anyone I knew there. When the light came on, there was something, and it scared me even more than being in the darkness..." she shivered, wishing she could describe the nameless horror that grew. "That was all... kind of stupid, really." she added, trying to make light of it, then flashed a smile to Ukaia.

"U-Ukaia, wait!" Tomo called after her, forgetting his plans in an instant. He followed her to the kitchen and leaned against the counter, "I'm not pretending!" He protested, realizing he was actually a little insulted. "I don't have a tail because I want it. I was born looking like this." He explained, getting hit by a wave of pride in his appearance.
