Going to pick her up on Saturday. heart She's a cute little thing; we had her in for about a week last month. All her littermates died; she has cerebellar hypoplasia, so she's very clumsy. But she's sweet and the family that was supposed to take her backed out at the last.

Actually, when I expressed my personal dislike for Monty Python in a manner we've seen 95% of the guild use to express their dislike of something mentioned, I was told that I'll never see a better episode than that one. Since my personal tastes were now highly relevant, I countered with a still fairly nonoffensive quip further expressing my personal distaste. Now, I still have yet to say the Monty Python sucks (which is good, since I don't think they suck, I just don't like them), yet I've been told that, like an insolent 5 year old, I have a poor attitude for a more than reasonable extrapolation of what I know about them.


Ok, I'll humor you here. Please explain to me, IN DETAIL, how this sterling example of comedy differs from their normal fare... is it significantly different? Is it SO different that people who just don't like their style at all will suddenly


Go back and read my posts, Mala. You'll find me pointing out that I've seen them in action... that I've spoken to people who watch them and like them (and some who don't). Now explain to me, in detail, how I am uninformed in my judgement that I won't like this episode based simply on the claim that I won't like it?

If you hate onions, don't much like potatoes, cringe at the crunch of fresh celery and find mayonaise repugnant, you can safely say that you don't like things containing them in combination. Does it make this person uninformed when they say that they won't enjoy potato salad?

Or how about this...
Fact: Reasonable levels of knowledge on something can indeed provide the insight necessary for reasonable predictions. These are often referred to as informed judgements.

So if someone jokingly expresses their dislike for something that I enjoy and am talking about in a manner that isn't openly offensive or targeting anyone, and I decide to condescendingly tell them that their attitude is bad, it is all their fault for commenting on one of the current topics?

If you're going to jump in, please make sure you start at the beginning and get the facts right. I know about Monty Python. I have seen much of their stuff. I don't like them. This qualifies me to dispute being told that I won't find better comedy than one of their skits.

Wrong. When directly told that I (not you, me) will never find anything better on my tv than that, I quippingly replied to the point that I could just by turning my TV off. When one actively dislikes something, sometimes they find a lack of it to be superior.

Read all you want into my statements, but if I wanted to tell you that it had no redeeming qualities or that you were somehow lesser for likeing it, there would be no need to imply.

I reccomend either inferring less or checking the waters before blasting me over your assumptions. My statements were that I don't like Monty Python, not that everyone else had to hate them or were any less for liking them.


Partly because I generally avoid discussions about Inuyasha and it isn't mentioned much in the threads I tend to go to. Also, it is a totally different case, given that I like most of what its creator has done...


I also didn't say "you suck for watching it" or "nobody should watch it" or "the members of Monty Python should be lined up and shot... into the heart of the sun"... What I did say was that I found watching nothing preferential to watching it. That is true. I prefer staring at a blank TV screen preferential to watching it.

Stop looking for attacks in everything I say and maybe you won't find them.


Again, less inferring and more actual reading. The series has no value to me, but I consider it far from absolutely worthless. Many of my friends, including Zelly, are quite fond of it. The fact that it entertains people who I respect and has influenced many comedians I enjoy means it has some worth to me... just no actual value as something for me to watch.

If I thought it was worthless, you would know for certain. For starters, I'd ask you why you wasted your time watching such idiotic drivel (since I apparently need to put disclaimers on my statements, this is an example). Trust me, there would be no need for you to explain how you got to the conclusions you got to if such were the case.
