Outside the air warm with a light breeze. Clouds drifted overhead as the darkened to welcome the night. Samuel stood behind Micha as the male glanced around. Already a few cars were pulling in and idling as they parked. He paid them no mind as there was still time and he wasn't about to rush them. Sighing softly, he commented on Micha's safety. He smiled as Micha moved back to him and pressed a kiss to his cheek. Samuel was tempted to go for a real kiss, but decided not to. Anymore and he really wouldn't let him go.
Samuel nodded as Micha promised to stay in contact. He appreciated that he was taking his concerns seriously no matter how annoying they might be. "I'll see you later." he said. He watched as Micha started to leave. He only made it a few steps before pausing one last time. His chest swelled as he smiled at him fondly. "I love you, too. Now go. Before you miss your train." He stayed root to his spot by the door a few minutes longer as he watched Micha cross the lot.
"So, is that him? The one you were pining after all last year?" came the voice of his friend and colleague. Alaine followed Sam's gaze across the lot. He was pretty, taller than he imagined, but he could see why Sam would be interested. Beside him, Samuel smirked as he turned back to the door. "You're late. Again." he replied. Alaine shrugged as he followed him inside. "I had my own bartender to keep me company." Alaine said with a shrug. They continued to talk as they made their way down to the office and went over the nights agenda. They were expecting a big crowd and maybe a little press for the big event. Samuel had everything planned out so he wasn't nearly as worried. If all went smoothly, the time would simply fly by before he would be seeing Micha again.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • Leaving Samuel had been hard but necessary. He knew they wouldn't be parted long, if only a couple of hours. The subway came shortly after he stood on the platform. As it stopped, the doors opened and people filtered out. Micha entered after he was able to. He looked around and soon found a window seat. Micha sat down, as the doors closed. The subway moved, starting down the track.
It was almost forty-five minutes before the subway arrived at the station he needed. Micha stood with a few other passengers, heading towards the door. Once the subway stopped, the doors opened, he slipped out onto the platform. Micha started toward the stairs. He ascended them as he made his way toward the upper levels of the street.
The walk to his hotel was another fifteen minutes. Micha walked the twenty blocks to his hotel. Entering the lobby, it was quiet. That was no surprise seeing it was late. He made his way through passing the desk towards the elevators. Micha still wasn't a fan of them but he wasn't in the mood to climb the stairs. He pressed the up button as he arrived.
Micha stood waiting as the doors soon opened. He entered and pressed the three on the door panel. Micha stood off to the side as the doors closed and the elevator rose to the third floor. He felt the shake of the elevator and the drop in his stomach. A short ride and the doors opened. Micha exited the elevator and walked down the hallway to his room.
Pulling his wallet from his pocket, he fished out his room key. Stopping at the door, he opened his room and entered. Micha closed his door behind him and turned the lights on. His bed had been made since he was last here. He saw his clothes had been piled near his suitcase. Micha knew he'd probably need to wash clothes once he got back to Samuel's.
Stripping off his clothes, he set them on the bed. Micha made his way toward the bathroom and turned on the light. He had cleaned himself off before leaving the house however their little game had left him feeling sticky still. Micha hadn't minded though wanted to clean off before heading back to the club.
Standing before the bathroom mirror, he took in the sight of his neck and chest. Micha could see the marks against his pale skin. He wasn't surprised after all Samuel had his own share. Micha found it amusing as he made his way toward the walk in shower. He reached inside and turned it on. Micha gathered towels and a washcloth from beside the toilet.
After a quick shower, he opened the shower door and reached for his towel. Micha dried off and wrapped the towel around his waist. He returned to the bedroom area. Micha had forgotten to let Samuel know he'd made it back to his hotel safely. He remembered halfway through his shower.
Micha grabbed his pants from the bed and pulled his phone out. He took a seat on the bed as he relaxed against the headboard. Micha pulled open his camera and snapped a quick picture of himself. It showed his upper torso laden with all his marks, his wet hair hung down. He opened his last text from Samuel, attaching his photo along with a text. Sorry, I forgot to text you when I got back. Made it safe but got distracted. Micha texted then set his phone aside so he could finish getting ready.

Turning to go inside he spared Micha one last glance. He was still a bit wary of him walking all the way back, but what he could do. He knew that Micha was capable of taking care of himself and he things to do. Samuel reminded himself of that as well. Together he walked inside with Alaine as they went over the plans for the night. They expected their largest crowd yet so there would be extra security on staff. Their liquor supplier would be here any moment. The food was ready, last minute decorations were underway. They had an area all set up for any press and VIPs. When they reached the office, Samuel took a deep breath. He was nervous and excited. Though he wasn't sure if it was due to the event, Micha, or both.
The next hour flew by without him even realizing it. As soon as Alaine showed up, one by one so did the rest of their staff. As well as the supplier. Samuel soon found himself in the familiar role of barking out orders. If Micha were here he'd probably find the whole scene amusing, and would be sitting in his corner of the bar attempting to hide his smirk behind a bottle of water. More and more employees moved into the main area of the club. Little candles were lit on tables while balloons and streamers hung in the air. On the main stage were a variety of instruments and rugs and a summer backdrop baring the bands name. Samuel had spared no expense in this final event, abd he was starting to wish he had. He didn't know what he was thinking when planning this, but it was going to be a busy night.
By the time the doors opened Samuel was already in need of a cigarette. But there was no time for that. He was up on the second floor watching as the crowd came in droves. Music blasted through the speakers for now, the band wouldn't go on for at least another half hour. It hardly seemed to matter as the masses flocked to the floor and the bar. From his view point Alaine had taken his rightful spot in the DJ booth. Samuel slipped out his phone from his pocket. Still no word from Micha. It was hard not to worry, but he reminded himself that public transport could be slow or delayed. It was possible he hadn't reached his hotel yet. He wouldn't work himself up just yet. Pocketing the device once more Samuel turned back to the crowd. Down at the bar they were keeping up as best they could. They didn't necessarily need him, but it would give his mind something to focus on. After all, he'd already gone through his checklist three times. He had nothing else to do for the moment.
Tucking his tablet beneath his arm, Samuel pushed away from his perch. He followed the path to the stairs, pushing past groups hanging around booths and around the security who greeted him accordingly. Downstairs it was even louder and harder to move. The air was electric and full of energy. Samuel held tighter to his belongings, they would be lost to him if he dropped them in this crowd. Due to the crowd size, it took him an extra five minutes to get to the bar as some patrons refused to move. He thought about elbowing people out of his way, but that would be rude, and he didn't want to start any brawls. He had been fortunate enough that the locations shady past had not come back to bite them in the a**. He didn't want tonight to be the night to jinx that.Sliding behind the bar, Samuel set his tablet down and slipped between two of the bartenders. He took the order of the person in front of him and set himself to work. Drink after drink was ordered and Samuel did his best to keep up. Somewhere in the middle of it all he felt his phone buzzing in his pocket. He didn't stop long enough to check it but was eager to. He just knew that it had to be Micha. But it would have to wait a little longer. There were still so many demanding drinks and Samuel wanted to half that number before removing himself from the bar.
Another twenty minutes passed and the crowd seemed to settle for the moment. Samuel complimented his staff and patted them on the back. Now he definitely needed that cigarette. Picking up his tablet, Samuel moved back into the crowd, who had started to gather around the stage. The music overhead had lowered as the band assembled. The front man introduced himself and then his band mates. Cheers of recognition erupted with applause. They said a few more brief words before that momentary silence filled the space. The only noise came from the kitchen and the drum sticks that were slapped together. The next moment the sound of electric strings playing the familiar tune. Once more followed by cheers and drums. Samuel smiled as he listened a moment longer. His phone buzzed again, reminding him of some great important task he was missing. He turned away from the show and headed in the direction of the heavy metal doors baring the sign employees only.
In the back hallway he felt like he could hear himself think once more. Just like earlier, it was nearly empty, save for a few voices down on the end. He wasn't going to reprimand them. They were likely back here for the same reasons as him - to get away from the crowd. Pulling out his phone there were a few notifications, most of them reminding him of his insane schedule that he had made for himself. Among them were two messages from Micha. Samuel opened them eagerly. The first was a picture. One that made him incredibly glad that there was no one around to peak over his shoulder and catch a glimpse of. Beneath that was a brief message, apologizing for the lateness of his text. Samuel smiled at the device and moved to the chair behind his desk.
"It's okay, baby. Though the picture is much appreciated. I'm just glad you made it back safe. Also, I'm sorry for my own late text. You won't believe the crowd size. It's a full house! I've never seen it so packed!" he texted back. Hitting the send button on his phone, Samuel reached for the drawer to his right. In there was two cartons of cigarettes. He pulled one pack from the box and removed the plastic it was wrapped in. After tossing the wrapping in the trash, Samuel flipped back the top, plucked one out, and slipped the filter between his lips. He then looked around his surroundings for a lighter, shuffling a few things before finding one turquoise bic lighter behind a dirty coffee mug. He flicked it a few times, this one was clearly reaching it's end but all he needed was a single spark. A few more tries then a weak flame came to life. Samuel leaned close as he brought it to the tip and pulled a few times before it was lit.
The familiar smoke and tar seared his lungs. He gave a weak cough as he set the lighter back on the desk. He really needed to give these up. They weren't good for him, and since Micha came back he was smoking a lot less anyway. Even with all the stress of today, he had maybe only a small handful of cigarettes. That was still a lot but significantly less than when he was single. He certainly wasn't chain smoking like he used to. Taking another pull, Samuel picked up his phone and angled it slightly as he leaned back in his chair. With a smoldering look, he snapped the photo and turned his phone to look at it. Not nearly as sexy as Micha's own, but it would do. Sending it off to the male, he lay his phone aside and turned his attention to the computer.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • After sending his text to Samuel, he was in no rush to get dressed or ready to go. Micha didn't want to show up too early as he would only be a distraction to Samuel. Tonight was a big event for the club and no doubt Samuel would play the good host.
While he sat there, Micha checked his email. He had sent an email to his realtor about canceling his bid on the loft he'd been interested in. It was no longer needed. Micha however still wanted information on a work space. He was tempted to check to see if his old space was available but he didn't want to jinx himself or cause an issue. There were good memories there but also bad ones. Micha needed something new so he didn't want to chance it. He also didn't think Samuel would want him to return.
After a quick return email again to his realtor, Micha set his phone aside again. He slipped off the bed and returned to the bathroom. Micha removed his towel as he set it aside. He went about brushing his hair. Micha tried to get control of it though knew it was useless. He needed a haircut. Giving up, he packed his brush in his toiletry bag.
Micha grabbed his toothbrush and toothpaste, then went about brushing his teeth before he put them away as well. He grabbed his bottle of cologne and sprayed some lightly over his chest. Micha finished as he gathered up a few more items and zipped them up in his bag. He left the bathroom and shut the light out with bag in hand.
Returning to the bedroom, he set the toiletry bag on the bed. Micha walked over to his suitcase and picked it up. He carried it open to the bed and set it on the edge. Micha needed to get dressed and pack his bag back up. He looked through his bag for clothes as he could no longer stand there naked.
It was a warm night so he didn't want to overdo it. Micha settled on simple as he fished out a dark red silk short sleeve shirt and black dress pants. He didn't bother with boxers though did grab socks as well. Micha set them aside as he went about getting dressed in his chosen attire. Once dressed, he walked over to grab his shirt pile of clothes. He returned back to the bed as he set them aside.
Micha hadn't heard his phone go off. He wasn't worried after all he knew Samuel was likely busy. It had been a few hours since he left. Micha had folded his laundry into his suitcase and stuffed his toiletry bag inside as well. He had picked up his boots from beside the door and slipped those on, lacing them up. Micha grabbed another pair of shoes he had stuffing them into his bag as well.
With one last check around the room, he was ready to go. Micha had his suitcase handle in hand along with his phone and wallet in his pocket. He made his way toward the door. Micha had already requested an Uber to pick him up. It was getting late and he wasn't in the mood for another subway ride. He knew it would cost him but he didn't care.
Making his way down to the lobby via the elevator, the doors soon opened. He entered the lobby and made his way towards the desk. After a twenty minute conversation as he had to wait for a couple before him trying to check in, he was checked out and fully paid. Micha left heading outside, his Uber driver was about five minutes away.
Once in the Uber with his suitcase in the trunk, he sat in the back seat. Micha's phone went off. He fished it from his pocket. Micha saw a return text from Samuel. He opened it up seeing his own apology as he commented on the crowd as well. Micha wasn't surprised to know that the club was packed. It was to be expected.
He wasn't a big fan of crowds though had to face them either way. Micha could easily hide in the office until the end of the night. He had a long drive to the club. Micha though knew hiding all night would do him no good. He was soon greeted with another text from Samuel. Micha opened it up to see a picture of himself.
Congratulations, that's wonderful Love…Well I've checked out of the hotel and I'm on my way back to the club…Don't forget to save me that dance. Micha texted back, teasing Samuel about his earlier words. He shoved his phone back into his pocket and sat back for his ride in the back seat.

The thought of him returning to his old work space was a bit uncomfortable. Samuel wasn't sure if it was his place to give his opinion. Though it was probably obvious if Micha ever asked him. He worried about him returning to that place. About what might happen if his father ever returned. Micha had been fortunate enough to survive his attacks in the past. Samuel worried that may not be the case if he went after him again.
After texting Micha, Samuel decided to stay in the office a little longer. He wanted to take his time smoking, but also to get a bit of work done. Turning on his computer he leaned back in the chair. The machine buzzed to life, making a few other noises as well, the windows logo soon appearing on the screen. After several more minutes, Samuel was able to login to his computer and pull up a few programs. He logged some of the already known expenses from this evening while leaving the profit margin blank. Hopefully the crowd would make up for how much his past self spent. At the very least, he hoped to break even. In the future he was going to have to make Micha or Alaine, or possibly both them stop him from ever planning like this again. He couldn't just dive head first into work looking for a project every time he got upset. Not if it was going to cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars.
He stayed in the office for about an hour before heading back into the crowd. He hadn't heard back from Micha, but he assumed that meant he was still packing up his room and making sure he didn't forget anything. Walking up the hall he could hear the band was still performing, the crowd chanting and singing along. Pushing through the door he was met with a rush of energy and noise. For half a second he thought about shutting that door and retreating back to his office, however, he could not do that. He needed to see how everything was going and if there was anywhere he needed to help out.
As expected the club was just as packed as he left it. Just as before he squeezed his way through the crowd and towards the bar. He checked in with the kitchen first to find all was well, save for a few dishes that needed to go out. Samuel easily found and instructed a more idle employee to get on it. With that said, he moved back to bar ask much the same. It was unsurprising that they were falling behind on drink orders. Even with six bartenders, they were no match against the throngs of people making multiple orders and trying to give them over a live performance.
Once again, took up a place and took out a few easy orders. He filled several glasses with beer and uncapped a few other bottles for others that had already paid. Handing them over, he quickly moved on to the next order. Keeping up was hard work, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. Samuel couldn't help keeping an eye out for Micha. He knew that he was busy getting everything sorted and had promised to be here later. It hadn't been that long since opening, an hour, almost two tops. The night was young and a ways to go. He would be here, he told himself.
Another hour flew by and the band announced that they were taking a quick intermission. The curtain fell and the house lights rose a bit as music proceeded to play through the speakers. Samuel glanced towards the DJ booth and was surprised to find Alaine was not there. No doubt he needed a break as well. He'd been helping the bands sound tech team the entire time. If anyone was deserving of a drink or a bathroom break, it was him.
While the crowds waited, they packed around tables and their own groups of friends. Some danced, others swayed in beat to the music. Samuel took the brief window to pull out his phone. At the top of the screen was a message from Micha. He felt a little bad when he noticed how much time had passed since it was sent, nearly half an hour. Opening the message Samuel at his words. He felt the same familiar giddiness from earlier when Micha told him that he was checking out. This was real, it really was happening. "Thank you, baby. It's really amazing, I can't wait for you to get here. And don't worry, I haven't forgotten. I've got a place in the middle of the dance floor reserved with our names on it. By the way, you didn't forget anything did you? Chargers, clothes, toothbrush?" he replied.
Sending off his text, Samuel took another picture. This one facing off into the crowd. Even with his height and arm length, he could barely get a good overhead shot of the crowd in front of him. Still it was enough to get his point. Pulling up their messages, Samuel sent that to Micha as well. He knew that Micha wasn't the biggest fan of crowds but hopefully that would not be enough to scare him off. Then again, he never said their dance had to be during working hours. They could easily wait for things to die down and have a dance all to themselves.

The closest thing to dancing they had ever done was when Samuel clung to Micha from behind. The idea of taking him out on the dance floor was a bit silly but he didn't think it would be that bad. If need be then he could lead. He was no champion ballroom dancer, but Samuel had attended enough weddings, parties, and the like that he knew the basics. With the right song, he could easily lead Micha in a slow dance.
Time slipped away from him as he continued to work. They were doing fantastic. The crowd was lively, energetic, and spending like there was no tomorrow. While he tended the bar the band had returned and so did their fans. People crowded the stage, screaming and laughing and reaching towards the lead singer. As the crowd slowed he was able to text back Micha. He aimed his phone to show off the crowd size, knowing the male likely would not be a fan, but at least supportive. That was all Samuel could ever ask for.
After texting Micha, Alaine approached the bar to order a drink for himself. The two friends discussed their night ans swapping the things they'd seen. He smiled as the male spoke. His friend seemed happier as of late. He wanted to ask him about his mysterious bartender but was unsure if things were that serious between them. It was better to let him bring it up first than to try to force it out of him. Pouring himself a shot, Samuel shared a drink with Alaine as they talked a little longer. The male soon took his cocktail and turned in the direction of the crowd. As he watched him go, Samuel felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. He pulled it out to see a new message from his beloved.
Samuel smiled as Micha teased. His words amused him and he was glad that he had not forgotten anything. There was nothing more annoying than realizing that something was forgotten in a hotel room. He had done that one too many times himself. "That's fine. I put our stuff in the dryer before we left. So the washing machine should be free when we get home." He replied. Home, their home. Samuel raised a hand to his mouth to cover the stupidly large grin breaking out over his face. He was going to need to kiss Micha whenever he got back. Then they could talk all about how they were going to make the space theirs. Because it wasn't just his room anymore, it hadn't been for awhile now. He wanted Micha to feel welcome in his house, his room, even his bathroom.
Another forty minutes and Samuel was starting to get idle. The band was nearing the end of their set as the crowd seemed to settle in their designated groups. Samuel took the time to go on another smoke break. Slipping away from the bar, he was able to move through the crowd and into the familiar hallway. It was getting late and more employees had snuck away to take a break from the crowds. Samuel greeted them with a nod of recognition. He trusted they would not linger for very long. Walking past them, he soon reached his office and stepped inside.

Walking through the hall the music dulled with each step. The night was nearly over, and he was about ready hunker down in his office until the end of it. While he enjoyed the lively atmosphere, it could also be pretty draining. He wanted nothing more than to go home, eat a quick meal, and snuggle up with Micha. As he passed his employees he soon reached the door to the office. He had already spotted Alaine back in his booth with the other sound guys.
Twisting the knob Samuel opened the door and stepped into his office. He was just closing the door when the familiar voice spoke to him. Smiling, Samuel turned towards Micha, who leaned against his desk. "I never doubted you." he teased back. Crossing the room, he moved towards Micha and stepped into his space. He was itching to reach out and grab him but for the moment he resisted. "The party's still going on if you don't want to be in here all night." he offered. Samuel knew that Micha wasn't much for partying, but at least it was some entertainment. Also, he could offer him a few snacks, a couple of sodas, and maybe even that dance.

Of all the things that he had worried about tonight, he didn't think Micha would lie to him. He had worried about his safety, and moving in together. But for Micha to take it all back, or worse, to run away from him? Never. Maybe Samuel was being naive but he wanted to believe that Micha would keep his word and he had. As they teased one another he closed the door behind himself and crossed the room to invade his space.
Standing before Micha he carefully kept his hands to himself. Samuel knew that the moment he touched him, he wouldn't want to keep his hands to himself. He then questioned him about coming to join him in the club. While it wasn't Micha's scene, it would be a lot less boring than hanging out back here. Samuel watched as the male reached out to touch his chest. A playful smile tugged at the corner of his lips as listened to him tease. "Mm, how could I forget?" He teased back. He then happily accepted the kiss that was given to him. Samuel smiled against his lips as he returned it to him. Reaching out, his hand brushed against his waist. He held him a moment longer he kissed him a second time. "Would you like that dance now or are you a shy damcer?" he asked.

Of course he was nervous, how could he not be. Even though they had spent plenty of time together this was different. It was a huge step in their relationship, and Samuel had been dreaming of the day the day they would live together for ages. Before they had broken up he had even thought about it, knowing then it was still too soon. Like Micha, he was excited, but also worried. He didn't want to screw this up and ruin what they had.
Samuel delighted in the male's teasing and happily accepted his kiss. He then reached for him as well, stepping closer to him. He smiled against his lips as Micha arched against him. He made it impossible not to want to kiss him again. Though before he could get too carried away, Samuel pulled away to question him. He watched as a shy smile spread across his lips and he looked away coyly. Samuel playfullysmirked at his next question, but understood the seriousness behind it. "Enough to make sure that neither of us makes a fool of ourselves." he replied softly. Leaning closer, he pressed another soft kiss to his lips.

It wasn't hard to guess that dancing did not appear on Micha's list of hobbies. Nor would it appear on Samuel's. He was a social dancer at best and a man of his word. If Micha wanted a dance, then a dance he shall have. Samuel was amused as the man continued to tease him. Behind it, he could hear his sincerity so he answered him honestly. He watched as Micha nodded, still seeming a tad uncertain. Even if they weren't perfect Samuel wasn't worried.
To prove as much Samuel leaned down to steal another kiss. He felt the kiss returned to him and started to pull away. Before he could do so, Micha grabbed for tie much in the same manner as before he left. Samuel held on to his waist for balance. He stepped closer, wedging a knee between Micha's own as they kissed. Samuel followed his lead as he kissed him back deeply. His free hand moving up just below his jaw.
