"You're going to die, aren't you?" Lyserg asked Faust.
"Yes... I think so...."
"I'm so sorry," Lyserg said, grabbing Faust's hand and squeezing it. "Please, I know it's not much, but accept my company. So that you don't die alone, at least!"

Luchist was overlooking one important fact: Shizuka had two tonfas. Charging energy into the end of her second, she blasted at him, secretly hoping to make a light blow on Netsubo to snap her out of her blood bane.

Lyserg squeezed his eyes shut. He didn't want to watch anyone die. Luchist was moments away from decapitation, and Faust was speaking like a child, in German to someone Lyserg couldn't see.
"Luchist was an enemy anyway. Not a true X-Law... Lyserg!" Marco said. "Stay away from the fallen enemy... he might be capable of more evil..."

Gagging, Luchist clutched his bible. "The Lord is my shepherd... I shall not want..."
Marco sighed. "Lyserg... do not betray the X-Laws this way. We can defeat these wanderers of the shadows, but we have to fight together!" he held the gun to Faust's head; the doctor didn't even seem to see him, but continued to speak German as if he were dreaming. "Even if his soul is rotten, at least we can put him out of his misery."

Even though the fact that his team was abandoning him hurt, Lyserg tried to keep his attention on his friends. Had they forgiven him? He realized that he was still holding Faust's hand, and squeezed it.
