Commissar Hark Kaori Kapoigne I heard that Stanley Kubrick was interested in making a movie out of the Inquisitor book by Ian Watson whee No. Too good to be true. Ian watson let him have an advance copy of the book, and he aranged for GW to send him some 40k stuff and pictures of warp-monsters, but he decided to make Eyes Wide Shut instead. One of the few filmmakers I'd ever trust to make a 40k movie, too bad he's been dead for years. With my luck, they'll throw the 40k movie rights to micheal bay. OH NO! I JINXED IT!! I wouldn't worry too much about that. GW is so a**l about getting things right that if someone (no matter how much money was offered) wanted to butcher WH40K in a movie GW would tell him to sod off and eat a d**k. That's why there was so much trouble in determining who would make WAR while it was in production; GW had to be sure Mythic wouldn't ******** up the storyline too much and to prevent it from happening even sent GW employees over to Mythic to oversee the process and call bullshit on anything that didn't stick to the proper Warhammer lore. The same would have to go for a movie, I'd imagine. As far as directors go, I'd say James Cameron. He made Aliens with the Space Hulk game in mind so we already know he's a fan so I doubt he'd want to ******** it up.

Jason Da Psycho Any ways, I know how sex works Brookman. rofl What I want to know, is how they actually get together, I mean, its not something you hear every day. From what I remember he loved her but she didn't let him get too close due to her training. Sleeping with the assassin is seen as something of a reward by the inquisitor.

Kind of like cocking the prom queen or lead cheerleader or is it more like humping on the hot goth chick everyone's too afraid to associate with? (You know, the one that's obsessed with vampires...)

Meh'Lindi keeps Jaq at a distance for several reasons, being a slut isn't one of them. Which she isn't by the way. It has more to do with her being only able to shape shift into a Genestealer and being almost completely devoid of emotion.
Jaq loves her dearly, Meh'Lindi is everything to him and even though he is an inquisitor he is also still a man. And men are known to do foolish things when in love.
I'd suggest reading the trilogy to get the whole picture, just don't take the plot too seriously, as this all was written during the 90's, when the background was less established and fleshed out as now.

Off topic time WOOH!!!
Anyways, I just bought the new Soul Drinkers book today called Hell Forged. It is so far good, will post more on it when I am done. Oh, and they are fleeing when they end up running into Necrons. So far they have about 250 Marine left ( obviously no that long sense the Second Chapter War happened), so it will be interesting to see what happens

Oh and I finished Hellforged Pretty dam good, considering the challenge of what Ben Counter had to write after the pure awesome of the 4th book Chapter War. Onto the story aka spoilers.....if you know want spoilers don't read. The Soul Drinkers, a renegade Space Marine legion, that serves the Emperor still are fleeing into a region of space called the Veiled Region. The Warp for due to irregularities is hard to treverse in this region of space, and messages within the deeper parts rarely get through, so the Imperium of Mankind has not traveled there due to those reasons. The Soul Drinkers seeking refuge head to this part of space to hide out, for a while, which due to the second chapter war they are down to 250 Marines. In their mighty Space Hulk that they found and named Brokenback.
Unfortunaley for them, The Mechanicus had sent a expedition into that part of space due to a strange Xenos material mask, that a rogue trader had picked up and sold to a noble. Of course the mask is Necron, but no one knows that due to the fact, that even though there are many great threats to the Imperium, not every Space Marine or mighty general has heard of them. IT seems to happen a lot.....
ANYWAYS!! the book is action packed, from the space battle between the Mechanicus, to the deadly battle between the Chapter master Sarpedon, and the Necron lord that was leading the awakening of the Necrons in the veiled region.....oh and Captain Lysander appears in the book at the end. The booked ended WITH A CLIFF HANGER!
Now I find it sucking a lot that the Soul Drinkers were captured by the Imperial fists, but the sequel will be interesting.

Well, seeing as I don't like the Soul Drinkers one bit I'm not at all disappointed with a spoiler, though I know that chances are only a FEW people here share such an opinion.
It's tough only liking the Imperial Guard and NOT liking Gaunt's Ghosts. If only they'd make a novel series about the Death Korp or something. THAT would rock HARD.

And I can see why people do not like the Soul Drinkers. I love it to be honest, the Soul Drinkers by far are one of my favorite legions and it's showing a different side of Space Marines that I have yet to see. My other favorite legions are Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, Silver Skulls, Angry Marines, Pretty Marines, Space Wolves, and Rainbow Warriors. The last book I read about the guard, well the closest thing to it anyways, was the Last Chancers. I've been meaning to find myself a good Guard book. The book I want to read, I believe when I last saw it, was called Fifteen hours. It's about how the life expectancy of Guardsmen on the planet is about fifteen hours due to harsh combat.

I greatly appreciate THE blanking out of potential spoilers, as I still need TO read that horrible excuse for a best-selling series. I tried reading it before but some p***k spoiled it for me, so I keep the BOOK until I feel BORED enough to read ******** man, this one word in all-caps thing is really hard. It feels like I'm shouting at random.

Death Sharpie So why do people not like Soul Drinkers? Just out of curiosity o.o Personally it's because I don't like most of the stuff Ben Counter writes, which is nothing short of unoriginal and uninspiring predictable prose, the only exception being Daemon World. His marine novels are dull and predictable, his Grey Knight novels are cliché and his Horus Heresy entries are an insulting kick in the established standard set by Abnett and McNeill. Okay, Galaxy in Flames was good but Battle for the Abyss was a horribly slow and ponderous read, the first HH novel for me to put down in disgust. As for the Soul Drinkers, his characters start out okay but the way they end up is just plain bollocks. Plus their whole background isn't even established as being cannonical with the claims of them being a second-founding chapter of the Fists.. Again, this is me, not the majority.
