The gray-pelted child watches Hodari's movements, tail snaking excitedly behind her. "Alright," She says, slyly. "The other way is the way to the Crystal Cavern, but this way's just as cool." She disappears ahead of him into the darkness, teasingly calling out: "Follow the voice!"
In seconds, she's completely enveloped by the darkness, all trace of Ciyari gone. But smell and touch and hearing can still be used, even when sight is gone.
For several yards, the tunnel seems to be going upwards; then it takes a sharp drop downwards, and keeps going....

::Hodari's eyes lingered upon the other pathway for a moment. He shook his head, quickly sprinting into the darkness, tail swishing about behind him as he ran..::It was odd, not being able to see.. It almost frightened Hodari but.. He wouldn't show himself to be afraid of pitch blackness. Never! Never would he dare! That would just be insulting...::
::He moved swiftly. His paws tripping him every now and then..Hodari tripped and fell flat on his face, rolling into a wall after that. He let out a rather loud 'oof' noise.. Rolling onto his back, he rubbed his head and whimmpered a little, standing back up..:: "Ciyari?" ::He called, ears twitching every few moments.. Doh... Now he wished he had picked the other path.. It was just too creepy down this path way..::

Suddenly, sniffing the air currents, Ciyari comes to a halt. It seems to get lighter up ahead - not by much, but once eyes accustomed to darkness start shifting, it's much easier to see. The lioness cub grins - yet it can barely be seen. It's so thrilling to come down here, and scary; who knows what could be lurking down here? But Ciyari's come this way before, out of curiousity, and so she knows what to expect. She trots ahead, then slinks carefully the last few paces.
They arrive in an enormous cavern, with only a trail up ahead that functions as a pathway, winding around several large boulders that stick out of the ground - which is some fifty feet below, studded with boulders and other rocks. There are curious other entrances down below, but it looks impossible to get down there. The trail itself is only about three feet across, perhaps four feet in other places, and two feet in places where it gets really narrow. Mischiviously, Ciyari scampers ahead, balancing precariously on the edge for a moment.
Sunlight streams in from a several small holes in the rock a hundred feet above.

::The cub's jaw dropped a little, his eyes clamping shut. He was quivering.. His paws shaking like a rattle snake's tail....::Slowly, Hodari continued foward, his gaze jerking all about after his eyes opened once again..::
::His heart began to race, pounding against his chest. He was getting that rush again.. That rush that fear gave him whenever he stared it in the eyes...::" Where's.. This lead?" ::Ears flicked back against his head as he spoke. His voice did not reach above a soft whisper...::

Compared to Hodari, Ciyari is in her element, skittering a mere hair's breadth away from the edge, and then, tittering, moving back again, eyes flashing gleefully. But as she looks back towards the white and gray boy, she comes to a halt, puzzlement replacing her features. He doesn't look good. At all. She trots back down the twisting path - which leads steadily upwards towards a crevice somewhere thirty feet above on the opposite side of the cavern - and querries, "Up to the the Star Caverns - s'wrong?" She querries, concerned. Did he hurt himself?

"I-It's nothing... I'm fine.. Absoulutly fine.." ::The grey-white youth said quickly. Nothing? Peh... It was something.. Truely, it was... As much as Hodari hated to admit it.... He hated heights and he hated not being able to see very well.... It always scared him...:: ::He cleared his throat, looking towards her, paws shuffling foward..:: "The Star Cavens, huh? What's that look like..?" ::It had a pretty sounding name... But... Would it be half as pretty as the glowing rocks had been? He'd have to wait and see..::

She looks at him oddly. He didn't sound alright, but if he said he was...maybe she shouldn't pry. If he was anyone put her pride member, the 'Princess' would have dug it out of him, quite mercilessly. "Okay, then...you'll have to see! I don't know who was there before...but they're really pretty." She lowers her voice into a whisper, shiftily looking around. "I don't think they're...well, natural. They're neat, though. And it's pretty, especially at night, although during the day it's nice enough." Her tail whisks, and she turns about towards the trail again. "It's not that bad, just stay balanced, and you'll be fine! If you aren't, though, you'll fall down there..." With that not-so-encouraging bit of information, she takes off swiftly up the trail, dislodging pebbles as she goes.
They tinker ominously into the pit below.

::A sharp stare upon the thin path, Hodari moved slowly after the 'princess'. He could not shake his worries away, his body continuing to shake and shiver. One paw slipped, knocking pebbles all off the edge of the path way. Lucky for Hodari, he did not fall..::He took in a stuttered breath, moving a little faster, trying to be as careful as possible.:: Just don't think about it.. Don't think about it.. Don't think about falling down.. You'll be fine.. You can do this... You can handle this.. ::He kept repeating that within his head as he moved along.. Sadly, it did not serve to calm his nerves.::

Ciyari takes a final twist - around one of the huge boulders, so that she's completely out of sight for a moment - and then she can be seen scrabbling into the crevice, her tiny form disappearing completely. The crevice looks large enough for a lion to slip through - and tall enough for a human to enter.
She skids to a stop inside, glancing around, as if pleased. It's a long and narrow cavern, with a rather low, slanted ceiling. To the left, there are many holes in the wall, which melds into the ceiling, which let in the sunlight - one can guess that they'd also let in the beautiful moon and starlight. The room is very bright, unlike all the other rooms seen thus far - it's not an unnatural brightness, like the jewels, but rather the calming sunlight of day. The sky can be seen outside, a cloudless, soft blue. Dancing among the dust motes, Ciyari takes a seat on the ground in front of the opposite wall, that holds the real mysteris for her.
A myriad of paintings sit across the wall. They stretch all the way down the tunnel, until they can't be seen as a corner turns - presumably, they continue down the corridor. They're primitive, yet beautiful; the one she sits in front of depicts a lion bringing down a stylized gazelle.
There's also odd shapes and symbols all around the actual drawings, and Ciyari's clueless as to what they could mean, but they don't interest her. It's the drawings that fascinate her. They're in many different colors - bright reds, clear blues, thick blacks, vibrant yellows, muted browns, soft greens, and many more.

::As he entered the room, he allowed his eyes to squint, the sun light burning them for a few moments. When he was able to open his eyes fully once more, he found that Ciyari was sitting, staring at some sort of strange picture on the cavern wall. He approched her, tail swishing, creating a slight breeze....::How had... those pictures gotten there? He hadn't seen any on the way to this place...::
::He sat down next to the lioness, tail twaping against the ground, brushing pebbles away..::Hodari appered to be thinking about something for a few moments, his eyes stuck upon the paintings... Finally, he looked away from them, turning towards the 'princess' to observe her actions and expressions.::

She's watching the pictures before her, fascinated. This has captured her attention as nothing else will - despite the fact that she's seen it many times before. Her eyes are large and round, tail twitching slowly as she stares. She feels so comfortable here - as if the creatures who did this were sitting here with her and not long dead.
Finally, she tears her eyes away from a particularly complex piece where a gathering of lions sit, seemingly waiting for something, to glance back to Hodari, to see his reaction. But he's looking at her instead. She blinks once, twice, and then grins wryly. "Aren't they cool? I dunno who done 'em."

::Hodari nodded, glancing back at the paintings to look them over. He smiled softly, tail thwaping against the ground again.:: "Yeah.. They are cool... I wonder what they mean.." ::He looked towards the picture of the lions gathering, staring absent mindedly for what seemed like minutes. He then turned his attention back to Ciyari, his claws digging into the dirt.::

She rolls her shoulders back into a languid shrug. "I dunno. If they mean anything. Whoever did 'em might've just thought they were pretty." She always thought having to have a reason to do anything was just silly; then again, she's fairly spontaneous, even for a child.
She squints down towards the other end of the cavern. "It goes on and on...I walked for a long time last time I went here, and I didn't reach the end." In truth, the girl only walked around twenty minutes. "I turned back 'cause I didn't reach anything."

::The boy nodded, standing up to stretch out his limbs, stretching his back legs first and then stretching his front legs.:: "Yeah.. They might've just thought they'd look neat..." ::He grinned, looking towards the path Ciyari had been squinting at..:: "Really? Just keeps going and going?" ::He tilted his head, scratching behind his ear with his hind leg.::
