=+(MusicBox)+= This would result in the gears of his mind starting to churn. There was more then Hakan than a simple, punky teenager. He was well trained, and very smart when it came to battle. He kept a pokerface up as he would simply twist his body off to the left, dodging the dagger. "Sorry, but daggers just aren't my thing, y'know?"
He would continue to think up a stratigey. "This would show that if he has a barrier up, that it's held in place by concentration.. He can turn it any which way he wants.. So I need to attaxk him in a place he wont expect?" He would keep his thoughts to himself to keep Duellist from knowing what he was up to.
He wouldn't dare give Duellist time to react. As fast as his wing could twitch to flap, he would be put into motion. With a quick, heavy flap he was sent towards Duellist. He was being catuous obviously. He would study his opponet before ultimately attacking.
Hakan would swing the weapon he wore on his arm in a horizontal slash, it would be aiming for Duellist's stomach.][Poor Demise... o.o][ ((Yeah...)) Hakan obviously had trouble understanding the concept of 'assassin'. Assassins are trained to expect the unexpected, to always be one step ahead of the game. As soon as the dagger had been thrown at Hakan, the vampire had expanded his shield and tied it off. The shock of the blow hitting what was essentially his own mental force did rock him backwards, though. "Let me get this straight, fledgeling... you honestly think that the only way to become the best is by physical combat? Hah! I challenge, you my fine little friend, to show me that your intellect is as good as your fighting skills. I'll ask you three riddles. If you can answer them, then I will grant that you are the best, in all reality, and grant you one of my weapons." Duellist smiled his pointy smile. "If you get to be my age, Hakan, you'll have learnt that there are easier and better ways to success than just attacking obstacles as they come to you. Or are you under-confident in your ability to solve my simple puzzles? Yes, that's it. You choose violence because you aren't smart enough to do otherwise." He was baiting the demon into proving him right, into trying to get around the shield, into actually doing combat. "So, which is it to be?"

Fixable right?][ (( yah.. they get bent easily. -nods a bit, fixing the stem- I used to admire them when I was little and when she passed away I got them. I'd been using them because I got an infectoin and silver or gold is the only thing I can use...and these are the only silver earings I got. -hates gold- but.. -bappage into the ICness- I want to see Bertram, Midori interaction!!)

=+(MusicBox)+= Duellist Bertram looked confused. "Um... I'm afraid I don't catch your meaning?" The wraith certainly seemed to be telling the truth. Just in case, though, he prepared to turn himself back to wraith mode at a moment's notice. ][-Just realized he forgot to reply to Bertram.-][ "Just.. Never mind!" She would stomp her foot again before she spun on the ball of her foot, and began to walk away from Bertram. Indeed, the giggling children were right.. She was playing Bertram for a fool! She would crush his heart so horribly bad, he'd wish he were dead.. er!Bertram hurried after her, his feet pounding. "Errr... hold on, Mistress Midori! Wait up! What's the problem?" The wraith was hooked now. He had to know what was going on.

He was baiting the demon into proving him right, into trying to get around the shield, into actually doing combat. "So, which is it to be?" there Duellist went again.. Underestimating his opponet. Hakan was a card. The strangest person, more then likely in all of Gaia. He would draw back slightly, relaxin his muscles, and falling into a more calm posture (sp?) "Sorry Bucko. You're wrong.. Although I'm more confident in my physichal abilities, I'm not exactly the dullest sword." He would begin to wave his free hand about, beginning to lecture the vampire.
"See. Battle isn't just about mindlessly throwing your weapon, or fists about. You have to become smarter than your opponet, and know them. It's not about having the sharpest sword, if you don't stay ahead of your opponet the best weapon would be wasted. To be the best, you not only have to be in peak physichal condition, but you also have to have the brains of a wise old man."
With that said and done, he would begin to fidgit boredly. He would finish his statement here. "But, jumping in head first is more of a rush."She would hide a grin by not facing the wraith, before putting on a more charming, more becoming smile of a lady, and turn around to face Bertram. "Well, 've been thinking Bertram.. You seemed to like me, right?"

Outcastic A large gong sounded over the clatter of the resturant's patrons. The singer came out on stage, a sense of gloom followed after her ((nah, she's just a ghost from the hotel as well, I'm gonna draw her.)). Though the dispare seemed as if it would spread to all, it didn't, she finally reached the microphone, the lights dimmed and a spotlight shone on her, the piano and the chairs. a spectral Pianist appeared at the seat, well... most of him, he was missing his head, though a monocle rested where his eye would be, the string and woodwind instruments lifted themself and started to play aswell with the piano. She started to sing, it didn't take much to quiet down the crowd(sp?) her voice was velvet soft, soon, more chairs found there way on stage along with some percussion instruments, soon the band was playing soft jazz, and Glecia was singing her spectral heart out. Eventually the band would appear while they played all of which appeared overly outdated. They were a 50's Jazz band which had played alot at the hotel that used to stand where the new hotel stands today. At the end of her Song Glecia smiles weakly and bowed a bit before she dissappeared off stage in a fogg, the sound of her high heels running across the hardwood floor was heard along with feminine sobbing, the front doors of the resturant were pushed open as what ever it was ran outside.

"Well, 've been thinking Bertram.. You seemed to like me, right?" "Ah, I never said I doubted it." Indeed, the assassin had not, if the warrior would recall. "However, by attacking me in battle you prove nothing. I am a vampire, an assassin. A creature of the night. And while this is night... nevertheless, your skills are infinitely more prepared for this than I am. I... well, how would you like it if you were laid down for 12 hours because some treacherous b*****d had stabbed you in the back with a holy dagger? It's the reverse of that situation. There is no honour in such combat." Duellist arched an eyebrow. "And without honour, what are we? I'm afraid that your weapon, composed as it is of pure spiritual energy, would do a great deal of damage to me if I allowed you to. The most I could do, since I don't want to kill you, would be stab you a little bit, maybe break a few bones. And you're a demon, you'd heal relatively fast. I'm afraid that if you're going to insist on challenging someone outside of your field just to prove that you're the best, you'll have to do it my way." He narrowed his eyes. "And if you're trying to challenge me to all out combat, I'm afraid I will refuse very harshly." The sneer became a smile very suddenly. "But come now! What is one riddle contest in your long career? Humour an old man." ~~ Bertram now knew something was wrong. He just couldn't put his finger on it. "Um... err... well... yes, but.. .the master told me not to, so..." he didn't know. I mean, he did like the bat-girl. On the other hand, he also liked his essence intact. "Um... I guess I do."
