:::It had been a good while since Cora had seen anyone. She spent the moments alone, studying the things her friends had given her. Suddenly and unexpectedly, she heard a knock at her door:::
:::She only wondered who it could be as she stood up. A few moments of hesitation passed. She didn't have to open the door...but...what if it were someone she had to see...? She took the few steps between her and the door, and reached for the handle:::
:::The door slowly opened towards her, and she looked at the person standing behind it. At first she did not recognize him...but when she took a closer look...the wheels began to turn. She stood in silence:::

As he waited for any responce within Tac felt like his heart was going to burst from his chest. He awaited any sign of the door opening as the sound of blood coursing though him. Beat after beat. He'd spent time in slow motion, but this was almost excruciating.
When she opened the door Tac first felt a wave of horror, thinking he had the wrong room. He glanced to the number on the door, disbelieving this was her room. Tac looked back to her face, blinking as he stared at her. It was Cora...it could be no one else, time had certainly taken its toll on the both of them. He took half a step forward, mouthing words that did not come.

:::She felt her heart sink. It was Tacitus...somehow. He'd changed too...she wondered if he'd still been in love with her all this time, while she spent so long unaware that something that abstract existed.
Her eyes met his... and she became sad. She coudln't bring herself to speak::::

Tac took a step forward and brought his hands up to cup her face, his thumbs lightly running over her cheeks as he looked into her eyes, studying them closely. Memories washed over him, every last one over thirteen years old to him, but now that he was so close to Cora again, time didn't matter. Time never mattered to him anymore. He could only say one thing, one word, one name, "Cora...."

:::She thought she had gotten rid of the sensitivity to it...but it was harder to shake than she feared. Her eyes began to water as he put her hands on her, and spoke her name:::
:::She brought her hands up and placed them over his on her cheeks:::
Tacitus...it is you...

He hung his head for a moment, his hair shifting and the two small nubs that were his horns just barely becoming visible through the bright orange strands. He shook his head slightly, but not in denial, more in disbelief, "Cora...what happened? No...don't tell me...I can guess well enough." His eyes met hers again, he was obviously holding back tears, "Its...been so long Cora...every day I thought of you Cora..." It was there his words failed him again.

:::Her hands moved from where he held onto her face, and traced the length of his arms, and she held him for the first time in so long:::
Me too... :::She whispered:::

His hands fell away from her face, fingers lightly tracing the slope of her chin, dropping down to wrap around her waist and pull her close. He never wanted to let go, he couldn't. His eyes were cast to the side for a moment as a hand returned back up to cradle the back of her head, even her hair had changed so much. Once again his eyes came back to hers as he lightly pressed his lips to hers, mirroring the kiss they had shared so long ago...their first kiss.

:::The flood of memories and emotions overwhelmed her, and the tears began to flow freely...somehow, after everything, there was still such a thing as love. Because of the Brink, even when things change, nothing changes. She wondered how long it had been since he'd seen her, wondered if he had loved her for very long. She felt something clentch inside her, and she wondered if she ever knew how to love at all:::
:::She pulled away, only far enough to have her lips speak:::
I'm so sorry...

Tac shook his head ever so slightly, a few tears falling from his chin, "No, Cora, I'm sorry. I wasn't strong enough to save you. You have nothing to be sorry for." His hand slowly returned to her cheek, wiping away the tears, "You're stronger than anyone I know, Cora."

:::She shook her head, still just a breath away from him:::
No...I'm not strong enough to go on like this. I can't keep going like this...

Tac held back tears at the thought, sniffling slightly before he spoke, "Cora...if I wasn't strong enough to save you, then I'm absolutely sure I'm not strong enough to go on without you."

He held her tight as he kicked the door gently. It slowly closed as he held her for a moment and gently picked her up.
